He doesn't look like a long term meth user though... and i live in a part of the country where meth is easier to find than weed. No shit. This town is a hell hole of strung out meth users and he just doesn't look like that's his drug of choice. Meth will wreck your looks for life within weeks to months. He doesn't have the ticks, the mouth chewing, the sunken eyes, terrible sores, hair loss, weight loss, tooth loss. Meth is dirty and HARD to hide. A few pimples and an unfortunate infection doesn't make me think meth use. If there was stimulant use (which i don't doubt) i just don't think it was meth. He's already had a deep love for blow, i wouldn't pass on him picking up that habit again.

But... wouldn’t he just get a staph infection where he injected a needle? Serious question... like isn’t it caused from an open wound? Even something microscopic like a tiny tear from you scratching your arm... wouldn’t the source of the infection be at the site of the infection? Or does herion use just make them pop up anywhere? I would say yes, heroin use can cause staph infection, but only at the site of injection, right? . He had a bump on his face for days before, and he was at the beach (dirty ocean water?) when he first started having issues with it. I thought he had cellulitis? Is that the same as staph or caused from it?

I don't know the answer about the injection area and infection area being one in the same (we need a nurse to answer that lol), but I do know that cellulitis is caused from staph infection

So i listened to a couple of the more recent podcast thingys last night. So far the list of drugs is some pills he got from an elderly neighbour, coke, and weed. Plus alcohol but apparently cullen doesn’t think its an issue to still drink while coming off the weed. Obviously no ones told him that weed is more of a psychological addiction, you don’t get withdrawals anywhere like you would with man made drugs because of the cannabinoid system our bodies have
All these were said in little snippets between them on parts 31 and 32. Seemed like brittany nearly slipped up and said something about prison too but changed what she was saying quickly.
Anyone else notice this too?

I think weed is his drug of choice. Regardless if it's a psychological addiction or not it's obviously causing a problem for him and his family and needs to be addressed.

It's interesting that Katie keeps saying Cullen has been hard to deal with for a year and a half—which is when Brittany came back. I have no doubt he was using whatever he was using with his sister...at her house. And that's why he was never home. I think maybe Brittany sobering up because she's pregnant left Cullen without a drug/drinking buddy and he started getting high and drunk at home. I could 100% see that happening.

I still find it hard to believe it's just weed. In her video today, Katie said she sometimes didn't know when he'd get out of bed...but I'm pretty sure weed doesn't give people hangovers. Alcohol, yes. Other drugs, yes. But weed? No. Doctors prescribe it as a sleep aid, so I guess he could be "wake 'n baking" and just staying in bed, but even lazy Cullen doesn't seem that lazy.

(And pills for sure too, like he told, and cocaine they practically told so too. It's definitely hard drugs, like Katie being worried he might get shot, Cullen being away for hours going to his dealer and staying away using drugs, dealer contacting and approaching him if he is ready for more (in some popular language, or hard drug lexicon should I say?), the whole doing secretively about other drugs than weed, he also practically said it was illegal, etc etc etc. Spare your energy, you don't need to doubt @ewokfan (sorry if I put your name wrong, I believe the "k" was there as well? - I wonder what your name means )

I agree with all this... though Ewokfan’s name is one of the few I do actually understand.

The most accurate story is most likely the one Cullen initially told before Katie got involved. We knew it was going to be watered down after that (which it was).

He also said the issue had been going on for years, so Katie’s talk about it having been after his sister returned is either ignorance or crap. She just doesn’t want to look bad for choosing to bring a second child into the mess.

I agree. Booze gives me a hangover, my xanax script makes it hard to get out of bed in the morning, but not in a hangover sense, it just makes it a little harder to WANT to get out of bed, once im up i'm fine. Weed has never made it hard for me to get up and going in the mornings, which is one reason i like it more for anxiety than xanax. Especially when i know i need to be up and out of bed earlier than normal.

Just reading back and wanted to say that it could be meth. It doesn’t have the same effects on everyone, I’ve watched close family members struggle with addiction to it for years and they never had face sores, weight loss or anything like that. Just the weird ticks, irritability, paranoia, hyper and then depression when they were out of it. Meth plus alcohol is even worse mixed, I’ve had to see that too.
