Wow! I've never had to do an insurance claim for anything at my house, but will their insurance cover their entire bathroom reno?? That's going to cost A FORTUNE! I'm thinking $15K-20K+. Especially hiring people to do all the work.

Makes me curious if Cullen staged the leak and let it go for weeks/months so they could file the claim. He said he knew it was leaking for weeks before he told Katie.

I haven’t had to either *knock on wood* haha, but it does make sense that they would do it all. Cullen said the extent of the Reno would depend on insurance and how things went. From what he said it was kind of a situation where if you fixed the leak you’d have to fix the tile so you’d have to fix the wallpaper and so on and so on.
I would assume it’s likely they’re paying out of pocket for some of the expenses (like the tub), you could replace the tile around the tub when doing the floor but not replace the actual tub.
Also, I don’t think he left it leaking so they could make a claim. This is the same guy who left water running into a garbage bin for his fish tank for over 24 hours and flooded his basement. He’s not responsible/high/drunk.

Honestly, I think they should just sell that house and downsize to something that is appropriate for both their family size and financial budget.
I’m interested on how the heck they are paying the mortgage on that nearly $700k house, plus bills (which I know with houses are even more expensive) and this sudden master bath reno... Also wondering why they waited so long to renovate that dang bathroom, it’s so fugly!!! That should’ve been at the top of the list, not some playroom that isn’t even used. The whole inside of that house could use some TLC.

It does make sense. I remember we had a leak and it ruined one cabinet in the kitchen downstairs. Insurance paid for all new cabinets because the old ones you couldn’t get anymore.

We had a pipe freeze and burst at our old house. We were in the process of putting new foyer flooring and kitchen flooring down. The old had already been ripped up and we had already purchased the new flooring. Insurance paid for the new flooring despite it not having been put down yet. It was kind of crazy because they kept asking if kitchen cabinets were damaged which they were not when this happened. I have never seen anything like that from a insurance co.

I don't know how easily they could sell that house. It was on the market for a long time before they bought it. They would probably lose money on it, just because it's such a white elephant and needs work to update it. And since (as has been said here-- I don't know for sure) apparently it was seller financed, so I don't know what the implications of selling it at a loss would be.

There's been a lot of talk over the years about them possibly having a trust fund from Katie's parents or grandparents, and while we may never actually know the answer to that, I do wonder if these two knuckleheads are under the impression that if their finances get too bad her parents are just going to bail them out regardless. We don't know what else they have going on financially, but we do know that their channel is basically failing and not generating enough income to possibly pay for their mortgage and the extra things that we see, including Cullen's past drug habits. I wonder if they're less than concerned about paying their mortgage because they know that Katie's parents we'll never let them lose the house? If they went to them and said "we need x amount of dollars or your grandkids are going to be homeless" then you best believe they'd hand it right over.

Maybe Cullen was dealing to support his habit? That would explain Katie "suddenly" wanting him to stop and being worried about him.
Totally speculating, of course. There's no evidence to support this.

I don’t think Cullen would sell drugs. Not because he’s above it, but because he can make more on Instagram. They could be churning out ads like Brit Null, but they don’t.

I don’t know that I buy that either. That’s basically saying, “they could be making more money on IG, but just choose not to.”

A lot of people who sell weed start doing it so they can save money on their own product. It’s not like it would require him to put in a lot of effort like seeking out sponsorships would.

I dont get them impression that he was selling at all. That's not something he could have easily hide from Katie with them both being home all day. katie might have resigned herself to him smoking, but there is no way she would have been ok with him dealing. I think that's a huge jump.

And pot can really take away your motivation to work hard. I am not talking about the occasional joint to relax or using it like a glass of wine. But people who smoke a _lot_ are often not very motivated. So being a go getter and getting lots of sponsorships wouldn't be top of Cullen's list if he's smoking enough to concern Katie.

I wish Cullen could talk about his issues without Katie breathing down his neck about it. I feel like things would make a lot more sense if we didn't have katie censoring everything he wanted to talk about. She is the double standard in this situation. Like when she would tell him "if it's ok to smoke weed then why don't you tell the vlog about it??" trying to hold it over his head. But now that he's doing just that, she wants to back track on all of it. I honestly think Cullen would be an open book if it wasn't for Katie's need to keep up her facade.

I’m starting to think the only “problem” Katie had with the pot smoking was budget related.

Money’s tight. If she has to give up her shopping addiction, you can bet your ass she was going to resent every penny he spent on weed.

I firmly believe that if they were more financially successful, Katie would have no problem with
Cullens addiction issues. If they had enough cash for her to drown herself in Kohl’s clearance items, he could be perma-high and she wouldn’t give two shits about it.
