Re: Steps to Avoiding Responsibility - Part 5
They’ve had plenty of opportunities to make interesting videos. They’re just lazy. Both of them, there’s no reason Kelsey can’t grab a camera and film something interesting, edit and upload it herself without Corbin.
Like someone else said, why haven’t they finished unpacking? It’s a small space and they don’t have anything else going on. Time for naps but no time to unpack? What??

Re: Steps to Avoiding Responsibility - Part 5
True, they do have opportunities, but I think what it boils down to is that they have no chemistry and no charisma. I watch plenty of youtubers do boring stuff and enjoy it. The fact is that these two are boring people. This is ON TOP of the fact that they put no effort into their vlogs, aren't open with their viewers, and don't really create any content to speak of.ohaudrey wrote: ↑Wed Feb 13, 2019 9:08 amThey can make the most boring things interesting, if they just added some effort and creativity. They bought a new house, right? It would've been really fun if they had filmed walking through the contenders and (after the fact) did a series on picking a house in Boise. They could've reviewed the neighborhoods, walked through the decision making, etc. They wouldn't have to worry about privacy because they'd edit and release after purchasing.sasha186 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 13, 2019 8:46 am I'm not even sure what I want from these two at this point. Today they went for a jog, unpacked, napped, and baked cookies? I mean, sounds nice, but it's not interesting. I can't think of anything I would really want to watch them do. I wish they had bought an honest to god fixer upper to renovate, I think that might be more interesting.
They have had years and years of SO MANY opportunites that most viewers don't have. Traveling? Edit it well and show where you are going, give insight on everything, etc. If it means you have to edit a month after the fact and it isn't true "vlogging", it doesn't matter because it is quality footage.
I honestly think that they watched their former BFF's and got he impression that it was "be at the right place at the right time"-- aka true luck. It's more than that, I mean that is part of it, but like it or not the Daily Bumps worked to create an image and put thought into their brand. I honestly wonder if that was part of the fallout between the two-- these guys underestimating (and refusing to recognize) the work that would be involved in making money on YT. They think a pretty face is all it takes (when in reality, many of the biggest YT-ers are not the prettiest faces).

Re: Steps to Avoiding Responsibility - Part 5
I totally agree with everyone. They're lazy with their vlogs, AND they're boring people. Bad combo. Plus all the secret shit that they think is cute and builds suspense is just ridiculous. They never show anything real. I've seen plenty of people make a boring regular day look interesting with some creative editing. If this was just a hobby for them, ok, that'd be different. But they claim this is their job. Why not put in some real effort into your "job"? There's a whole ton of competition on YT these days. Keep up! Improve the quality of your vlogs to grow your channel. They missed a HUGE opportunity with their RV trip. That was a complete disappointment. All we saw was a few bike rides and bikes. Zzzzzzz. Their videos were pretty stale in CA, and I have a feeling it'll be worse than that now in Idaho. But it's by their own choice. Like I said, plenty of people make their lives look interesting, no matter where they live.

Re: Steps to Avoiding Responsibility - Part 5
Today is a great example, they could’ve done go-pro cottage of their vlog and set it at 2x speed with some background music.
Then Kelsey could have done a sped up clip of all her clothes in the bed and organizing them. So many YouTubers do clips like that.
The problem isn’t leading s normal average life, so many successful YTers show that kind of lifestyle. The problem is they put no effort into it.
I get it, I wouldn’t want to pick up the camera and vlog every step of me organizing my closet, it would make the process take so much longer. But I’m also not trying to make a living on YT.
They want the YT income without any fo the work or inconvenience.

Re: Steps to Avoiding Responsibility - Part 5
I believe the was little to none incentive to vlog the RV adventure because the were literally thrown in the RV as the only housing option at the time, whether they wanted to travel at that point or no! I also think they probably were adamant they would not stay with parents until the true picture of exhaustion set in traveling with a toddler! Theyvcut their losses lost face and moved into grandma’s.
As is always the case when those two plus months really over stayed their welcome Kels knew she was in limbo for the few fairy tale years she had planned for herself and looked to buy to secure at least some her dreams! I am betting Corbin will soon tire of the hamster house especially getting to visit GG childhood home often and try to make weasel attempts at mending fences with Brian in the hope he will once again have someone enable him back to Cal! The excuse of course will be June needs the sun better schools June needs new baby no space blah blah blah! Did anyone else pick up on the little resentment poke ‘Kels went running I didn’t and need it for stress management’ Also the way he said we will give family what does not fit! As if he is so overgenerous yet he lived off family for over two months, no one I doubt want his junk!

Re: Steps to Avoiding Responsibility - Part 5
Corbin sitting and answering questions about the house...horrible. He says they got tons of questions about the house...uh no. It was pretty funny that he kept reading the same questions over and over again. Some he answered and some he just said he’d already answered them.
Guess the size is already getting to them because he said that they’re going to add a master suite, and remodel the kitchen. He thinks they’re urban homesteaders! “We live in a neighborhood that has tons of restaurants, river, lake and tons to do all within walking or bike riding distance so we really don’t need a car just like in Portland “ what??? How long did it take them to buy a car in Portland?
I don’t think he has any idea the cost of a room addition with a bathroom if done right. He really wants to give the impression that they’re rolling in $$$.
He said there’s repairs that need to be done. He had a HVAC guy out and one of the heater vents wasn’t hooked up, so it was heating the crawl space. Wouldn’t that have been shown on the inspection?
The $$$ starting to add up... addition, kitchen upgrades, convert to gas for a new water heater...
Maybe the guests they plan on having this summer for a week at a time will end up backing out the more they see if the tiny house.
Still nothing said about the upcoming Puerto Rico trip. Don’t see it happening.

Re: Steps to Avoiding Responsibility - Part 5
They are planning to add a third bedroom/second bathroom? Ummmm, where? That would be a massive remodeling project...they would have to hire an architect to restructure the entire house. That will cost a TON and they will be living in a construction site for months. Where are they getting all this money? And they will lose a lot of their backyard if they add a master suite. Their lot is only .15 of an acre.
Meh, I doubt it'll ever happen. They should have just bought a bigger house. After a few recent remodeling projects at my house i'd 1000% rather move than the HASSLE of remodeling!!! It's never easy, it's always more expensive than planned and it typically takes at least twice as long as expected.
Corbin seems to dislike the house. It totally seems like Kelsey wanted it and he just went with it. And now he's having some second thoughts—especially about the size.
I wonder who the "friends" visiting are? They don't have any friends.
Also, what happened to Puerto Rico? They haven't mentioned the trip in weeks!
EDIT: Jmoysa, we must have been writing at the same time! LOL!

Re: Steps to Avoiding Responsibility - Part 5
I'm curious if he had the wording correct. I think maybe a vent was closed and they just opened it up. If it was an unconnected duct, then it should have been in the inspection report. I just think Corbin know ZERO about houses. Vents and ducts are two different things.

We too have been through a remodeling and it’s the pits. I question where he thinks the $$$ is going to come from. He made it sound like having stucco and lathe and plaster made this house unique. Just an idiot.

Re: Steps to Avoiding Responsibility - Part 5
I wonder if Kelsey's kitchen remodel means she's adding a dishwasher. Yes, people can live without a dishwasher, but it's not easy—especially going from living with one to not having one. Also, they have almost no counter space, so the dish rack must take up most of it. Yeesh.
I'm really starting to question why they bought this house. It's too small and dated for what they REALLY need. It's like buying a "vintage" car because it looks cool, but then realizing it always breaks down, there's no place for car seats and you can only play 8 tracks.
I noticed Corbin didn't really elaborate on the problems with the outside of the house. Structural problems? The last owner only lived there a year.

Re: Steps to Avoiding Responsibility - Part 5
He also did the Q&A on hos own Kels could not be bothered! And he did hint negative feedback at the tiny house and the only part he likes is not the actual house but the garden!? I bet my bottom dollar he will sell and move!

Re: Steps to Avoiding Responsibility - Part 5
I have to add something. Some of these questions seem really fake. Like the one about the pool and about the cat. Are these people who know them personally? Or, more likely, Corbin just added his own questions. People in Idaho really don't have pools (but his dad owns a pool company) and where did anyone see a cat??
Re: Steps to Avoiding Responsibility - Part 5
I also thought it was super weird that it was just Corbin. If it has to be a Q&A with just one of them I would 10x rather see Kelsey. It seems like this was just filler (not that I'm surprised) because they didn't have a vlog for today. I wonder if they are not vlogging every day and that's why they have these filler videos. I don't care how often they are vlogging, but I would appreciate a little bit of transparency there, i.e. "I'm filming a Q&A today because Kelsey and June are both under the weather, so we just didn't have the energy to do a vlog." I mean, come on.
Re: Steps to Avoiding Responsibility - Part 5
I know, right? We had a flood in our master bathroom last summer and we're still trying to finish the repairs. New tile, drywall repair, new vanities, sink, faucet, lights, COUNTERS ($$$$). We've done the labor ourselves and shopped for good prices but it's still run us over $1100 for a basic remodel of an already existing bathroom.
My husband is a structural engineer and we once mused over expanding our kitchen out 10 feet. He made up the drawings and estimates himself and we realized it would have cost us nearly $10,000 all said and done. NOPE.

Re: Steps to Avoiding Responsibility - Part 5
I choked on my lunch when i read this LOL!! I REALLY REALLY hope that Corbin called and paid for a HVAC tech to come out just to show him how to open a vent inside the house, that tech laughed his ass off all the way to the bank on that one. And Corbin thinks they know so much about home remodeling. I'm dying laughing.ewokfan11 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 14, 2019 8:09 amI'm curious if he had the wording correct. OT: I manage a lot of rental property and we had a tenant move in and call us stating an upstairs window was broken and needed replacing. Coincidentally the guy we hire to do glass work was working at the house we own next door, so i just called him and asked him to go take a look at it. He called me back laughing so hard he couldn't breath. The window that was "broken" was actually just OPEN and the lady had zero clue how to open or close a window. Same lady also wanted us to come out and replace lightbulbs when they blew so she had some legit common sense issues, but this situation with Corbin made me think of that.

I agree! Kelsey should have been in the Q&A. He kept saying things like "Kelsey's going to do the garden" and "Kelsey's going to remodel the kitchen" — so maybe Kelsey should have been there to answer the questions.sasha186 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 14, 2019 9:43 amI also thought it was super weird that it was just Corbin. So what's Corbin going to do then? Make Kelsey do all the heavy lifting while he watches June? (not trying to perpetuate gender roles with that comment, we all just know how Corbin is with June, and how he barely lets Kelsey be a mother)ewokfan11 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 14, 2019 10:08 amI agree!
