I know everyone has different feelings regarding what age that their children should get a phone but, it's really annoying me how Ruby keeps going on about how Shari couldn't ''handle'' a phone therefore Chad also can't.

Chad is a completely different kid and all kids are different, just because Shari misused her 1st phone doesnt mean Chad will, Ruby goes on about how she parents her kids differently because all her children have different personalities/wants/needs etc but yet keeps going on about how Shari messed up when she first got a smartphone and therefore Chad will also. I get that Chad is more rebellious than Shari but he might surprise everyone and not misuse it.

If I were Chad I would have given up 5 minutes into the humility, honesty, responsibility lecture. If we saw 20 minutes of it, they must have repeated it for an hour unedited. And why is Kevin trying to become a "small body builder"? How does he even have the time?

Also, Ruby had a failed engagement in high school. I am not sure if her siblings experienced the same.....

Seemed like ruby was more concerned with chad slacking on his YouTube channel. She seemed super pushy about it. She cares more about their YouTube channels than her 4 younger kids all being behind in school.

Ruby has it out for Chad. She always has. I can't figure out why but it seems like he always gets extra punishment and she just talks to him differently. I wonder where the resentment comes from.

Seriously, it was such a departure from the insanely boring and redundant responsible/honest/humble lecture. Ruby has proven repeatedly she values none of these criteria when it comes to YouTube. Forcing Chad to commit to a certain number of posts per month in a signed "conduct" contract, is just exploitative. I suspect Chad is also having trouble in school, he just won't let Ruby vlog his business anymore. Maybe that's why it seems Ruby is harder on him too, because she can't manipulate him like the others.

Watch out Ruby..your control issues are showing again! All the evil things you are trying to prevent might just happen because your pushing your kids away and they feel like they can’t come to you. It’s going to blow your world up if one or all of them actually do something so horrible...smoke a joint or have a heavy petting session..or yikes..send a nude to their CRUSH! I do believe you’d actually die. While those kinds of things are not good..you can’t stop/ control them. I fear for your kids if they go astray..guide them..don’t control them. Gunna bite you in the ass in the end.

Youtube channel is where the money is not school!!

Oh they have their comments going. She posted that they are going to self moderate in Saturday's vlog. Here is a small part of her post: We are going to approve comments that are positive, constructive, and uplifting. Comments that are mean, derogatory, offensive, or hurtful will not be approved. So unless you agree with them, don't waste your time posting. That's not why youtube stopped comments but hey we will use that as a way to get around hearing what the viewers think! Like Eve running out on the court at the dance contest and making Sherri go get Eve would have lit the comment section up!!

As much as I can't stand OKBaby, Kira swears she will allow negative comments as long as they aren't disgusting or inflammatory. She said the negative comments were somebody's feelings and deserved to be heard. She also explained why comments with time stamps were not going to be allowed and told her viewers not to use them anymore. I haven't heard anybody else do that yet so maybe they were told not to?

Comments with time stamps were how pedophiles were sharing titillating scenes. They would say something that seemed innocent, but the time stamp would be a kid with her mouth open or a dress blowing up, or something like that.
Cara Chatwin said she wouldn't delete negative comments unless they are downright rude or the like that. Ruby didn't used to delete negative comments. She actually used to respond to them but now I guess that's all over...

I'm a little late on this comment but I just watched the video where Julie make's an art class. Is Julie really 10 years old and cannot spell "sign?" And Eve is 5, going to be an older on in her kindergarten class next year, and doesn't know her shapes!?

Lol I agree. Not all kids of over bearing parents rebel. But she has six kids and two of them clearly already have behavioural issues. The odds are against her.

8 Passengers: Controlling Mothers aren’t powerful. Part #10

Omg do we really need THIS many full videos/ filmed discussions about Chad getting a smartphone? These people will literally take one holiday, one situation, or one event and stretch it out into weeks of videos. It’s getting old and tired.

I feel like Ruby is using this smartphone situation in particular just to exemplify what a #powerful ~supermom~ she is. We don’t give a shit!! Who the hell wanted to see 20 mins of her and Kevin saying the same thing over and over again to Chad? I can’t believe how much she wants him to grow his following online and I’m sure the only reason she is even considering a smart phone is so he can start making more videos for his channel or getting social media brand deals. If he said he had no interest in that at all she wouldn’t let him get one. That is so absurd. She’s definitely forcing that on him and I’m sure that she told him that’s how he’s going to get $50 a month to pay for it. How else would he do it?

And he can’t use the phone with his door closed...? What? Too scared he’s gonna be looking at porn or what? I get monitoring and making sure your kids are being safe on their phone or computer but I’ve never heard that one before lol. These kids are sooo sheltered.

I’m not watch the 20 minute video.. did he get a smart phone? I remember in the video when they talked about IG and having internet access on his phone he said he’s been staying up until 12am texting Kesley.

So Shari got a new phone too... Also what is the point in getting Chad an iPhone X if he is going to have all of these restrictions on it like internet and apps. It makes no sense. They are trying to come across as super parents but all I see is control freaks. Putting all of these restrictions on Chad will make him more curious and he will be more likely to rebel. Imagine if he accidentally sees an ad on his phone with say a woman in a bikini - he’d have to go and confess to his parents and they’d probably pray for him or something.

Why on Earth did Shari get a new phone? She is such a brat and definitely knows how to work her parents. To me it seems like in order to get rewards, she just focuses on being "better" than Chad in the eyes of her parents and then she can ask for anything.

Ehh. My kids aren't allowed to take or use their phones in their rooms. I don't think they're sheltered. Kids don't have the best impulse control and are very naive. They need a lot of guidance. Ruby and Kevin are paying the phone bill, so they can assert as much control as they want and Chad just has to deal with it. It's not like a phone is a basic necessity.

Wth didn’t Shari just get her new phone before they went to Greece or wherever it’s not even a year old. Haven’t watched the new video yet did they both get the X?

Yup, they both got the X. Heaven forbid princess Shari have something a little older than any of her siblings. They also bought car mounts for Shari since she'll be driving soon. Why would you want to encourage phone usage of ANY sort to a brand new driver who might be driving an oversized van? I don't care if it's mounted properly; to a brand new driver, even having google maps in view can be distracting.
