Re: The Lindquists
Funny thing is, she put up a chat style vlog but with her comments disabled, she really is just chatting with herself. Aka rationalizing her insecurities as a encouraging speech.TeachIT wrote:Why are her comments still disabled? So weird.
A family vlog that I watch addressed the disabled comments issue. She said that some channels can enable it back but some cannot and are also on some sort of lockdown where the videos are not being recommended. I wonder where Elle's channel stands.

But if she created all this interesting and useful content that sets her apart from other youtubers, when would she have time to create and post all her cleaning videos?TeachIT wrote:But honestly Seriouslysweetie makes such a great point. Elle has the ability to have a great brand if she would realize that she isn’t special or unique (I mean come on, she isn’t!) and instead focused on what she COULD do.
Book clubs, researching and sharing about things she’s genuinely passionate about, REAL interviews with knowledgeable people, tackling parenting issues head on (really addressing them, with research, not just being wishy washy to keep everyone happy), sharing recipes and ideas that are relatable to ALL moms (not just stay at wealthy/middle class stay at home YT moms), interviews/discussions with people who’ve experienced grief or loss or survived cancer or overcome REAL abuse, clean-with me videos of actually dirty parts of her house, managing clutter FOR REAL (we see all she buys but a minimalist house, where is all her shit?) ... I mean there’s SO much she could do.
Basically stop talking about yourself, Elle. You aren’t interesting. Make it about the viewers and their experiences. Nobody wants to watch your kids go down the slide doenthe 100th time at your neighborhood park.

And how would I know what to eat in a day as a vegan stay at home mom who uses meal delivery services ???

She is so fake she can’t/won’t even go into the hows and why’s of her vegetarian diet. I know she’s mentioned in passing that it’s for migraines, but maybe make a video and dive into it, share your experience and what research there is between meat consumption and migraines, or pain or whatever. Be authentic for once!!okaythatlldo wrote: ↑Thu Mar 07, 2019 5:23 am #vegetarianpregnancy

Instead she’s wishy washy and won’t actually discuss it. Because (my suspicion) she doesn’t actually do it for headaches. I think it’s an easy excuse to hide her eating disorder. Not that all vegans/vegetarians are, but it allows her to control what she eats.
She doesn’t care about animals or cruelty or the environment, she’s veg for vain reasons, and uses the migraines as an excuse (for Botox AND disordered eating)
Re: The Lindquists
So in case we wondered her level of stalking this board (and us), after I mentioned not following her on my professional account HERE only, I noticed this morning she blocked my professional account. So interesting, how else would she know that account existed unless she was intensely googling me AND reading here??

Re: The Lindquists
Yeah it's weird she has not addressed why she is vegan and vegetarian in this pregnancy. It really something YouTubers and social media people take time to explain their reasons why they choose that lifestyle. My guess is she is just wants to be in the trend.TeachIT wrote:She is so fake she can’t/won’t even go into the hows and why’s of her vegetarian diet. I was plant based for the longest time but struggled to put enough fat and protein in my diet. I was having hormonal issues that went away when I gave in to eggs, fish and other high fat source of food. It wasn't sustainable as well as my family are huge meat eaters.
I do admire people who are vegan and vegetarian that thrive in it. Elle is far from that. I'm not sure if she even researched what nutrients and macros she needs for her diet.

Re: The Lindquists
For sure she still reads this board. And the fact that she managed to block you twice, means she not only read here but took her precious time to seek you out.
My precious time is being wasted here as I wait for my laptop to do some annoying updates so I can work. What ever happened to her book by the way? It was all she could talk about and now silence. Didn’t she even go to New York City to write? So she could feel like a real writer? That’s the thing about her. If you want to be a writer, just write. You don’t have to do it in a coffee shop in nyc while spending $400 a night in a swanky hotel. Not to mention airfare.
It’s this phoniness that really irks me. Like you’ve mentioned, she has a platform big enough to reach people. But instead of being real and raw, she tried to be aspirational. In her mind she probably thinks she’s lifting up the everyday woman and motivates them to be more like her.
I did used to admire how she gave back and that used to be her channels mission statement. I don’t do it for the glory, I do it so I can help others.
Where are the receipts of that? What was the catalyst that changed her from someone who was semi relatable and watchable to someone I can barely stand to look at anymore? Was it money do u think? Maybe she’s financially secure enough now that she’s developed some sort of new ego or persona. There’s something off.

Uggh that trip to NYC was for “Apple” so she says but I take it she didn’t get the gig. That’s when she bought her LV purse because “she made it” in her career.
Her ads for Google were pathetic, probably why Apple told her to bug off. Elle would probably say “Oh Apple just didn’t fit into my ethos “.

Same. I commute almost 3 hours per day, vanpool. So 5am I’m sitting in a van for hours, listening to podcasts or books and cruising forums. Once I’m at work or with my family, I have zero time to care for Elle or anything online.
Elle? Constantly on here reading about herself, obsessed about her every movement online (instead of actually spending TIME with her family, she carefully curates photos of her family with god awful filters in terribly fake poses).
But seriously, I can’t ever get over her being sponsored by a plastic poop game or a clothing company directly responsible for child labor. I guess that fits her ethos, but not Apple

Re: The Lindquists
I know we don’t see everything but my assumption is that Elle really likes her Elle time. She wakes up early for Elle time. She likes to lounge on her couch with tea. She cleans and organizes all the time. How is this going to look for her when she has three kids?

She does cry it out sleep training at like four weeks old. That’s how she manages to get so much Elle time, I’m sure she will do the same with this baby. She said it makes her a better mother.Notablogger wrote:I know we don’t see everything but my assumption is that Elle really likes her Elle time. She wakes up early for Elle time. Re: The Lindquists
I’ve always gotten the vibe from her that she loves the show of parenting (“look at the costumes I handmade them!” “Forde is so ADVANCED for his age!”) but hates the nitty gritty behind the scenes unglamorous part of motherhood. She doesn’t spend genuine time with her kids, which is clear when she does it for YouTube because she’s so awkward and showy about it. It’s always more about the camera angle and catching everything on a film rather than actually enjoying the moment with your child.okaythatlldo wrote: ↑Fri Mar 08, 2019 6:22 amShe does cry it out sleep training at like four weeks old. Re: The Lindquists
I kinda think this is partially because she is a control freak and parenting can be 'messy'. You have to pick your battles and she obsesses over minutia...she has gotten defensive when viewers have pointed this out (like when she asked Forde to put away his books and then corrected him about spines facing outward)...seems exhausting, and not very healthy for a young child that constantly is not measuring up to HER standards. I wonder if she allows her kids to finger paint, craft, or do any sort of activity that can be messy...TeachIT wrote: ↑Fri Mar 08, 2019 6:33 amI’ve always gotten the vibe from her that she loves the show of parenting (“look at the costumes I handmade them!” “Forde is so ADVANCED for his age!”) but hates the nitty gritty behind the scenes unglamorous part of motherhood. Also, re: sleep training at 4 weeks... she says her milk supply is always low...I wonder if this could possibly be a factor.

Re: The Lindquists
I totally agree with Elle about sleeping well at night makes a better mom BUT sleep training before 12 months is lost bonding time with your child you can't get back.TeachIT wrote:I’ve always gotten the vibe from her that she loves the show of parenting (“look at the costumes I handmade them!” “Forde is so ADVANCED for his age!”) but hates the nitty gritty behind the scenes unglamorous part of motherhood. We cry it out slept train my 1st child just shy of 1 yr. It was traumatic for me and my husband took the reins during the process. Over the years I tried my very best to get the bond back by cuddling, reading as much as possible but it's not the same. I feel that this made her a more anxious child than her siblings. If you are reading this Elle just please consider that.
The nitty gritty of motherhood isn't pretty at all but it's what makes us better mothers and a person. My husband manages a huge office and he applies parenting strategies and takes my input everyday in developing his employees. YouTube is entertainment and/or edutainment at best, don't sacrifice your children for viewing pleasure.

Re: The Lindquists
There’s no way she does crafts or messy activities with her kids or she’d vlog it so she can show herself as mother of the year.
I sleep trained at 1-2 years old, never before that. No wonder she had no milk supply, you can’t sleep train that early!
Totally agree re: sacrificing childhood. One day she will look back and realize she wasted these years worrying about the family aesthetic instead of actually embracing the chaos and messy world of motherhood. It’s chaos but it’s fleeting. You can always go back to a perfect house and total control once they’re out of the house - it will happen before you realize it.

But I think she has a sleep training manual to sell...Seriouslysweetie wrote: ↑Fri Mar 08, 2019 6:53 amI totally agree with Elle about sleeping well at night makes a better mom BUT sleep training before 12 months is lost bonding time with your child you can't get back.TeachIT wrote:I’ve always gotten the vibe from her that she loves the show of parenting (“look at the costumes I handmade them!” “Forde is so ADVANCED for his age!”) but hates the nitty gritty behind the scenes unglamorous part of motherhood.
