Re: The Lindquists
Just in case I upset anyone with my sleep training comment, I didn’t mean to! Cry it out isn’t for my family but I 100% understand why people do, and yes, sleep helps us all to be better parents! It’s the timing of it that makes me crazy with Elle - starting at four weeks old is just cruel and selfish, in my mind. And those who have said it could have a huge impact on her milk supply are correct! It’s so important.
It all just goes to show that she’s not willing to put in the work, but wants all the benefits. She’ll go to all these appointments to fix the BABY and says her low supply is due to all these outside factors like a bad latch or bad advice. A baby needs to nurse frequently, nurse to sleep, and even comfort nurse in order to keep your supply up. The more you are emptying your breasts, the more your body will make. She tops up with formula at bedtime so her kids sleep better and while I agree fed is best, she should at least be pumping to make up for that missed feed. I think her diet also plays a factor.

Yeah, it’s $30!!!!!Skinnie wrote:But I think she has a sleep training manual to sell...Seriouslysweetie wrote: ↑Fri Mar 08, 2019 6:53 amI totally agree with Elle about sleeping well at night makes a better mom BUT sleep training before 12 months is lost bonding time with your child you can't get back.TeachIT wrote: I’ve always gotten the vibe from her that she loves the show of parenting (“look at the costumes I handmade them!” “Forde is so ADVANCED for his age!”) but hates the nitty gritty behind the scenes unglamorous part of motherhood. It’s always more about the camera angle and catching everything on a film rather than actually enjoying the moment with your child.
We cry it out slept train my 1st child just shy of 1 yr. It was traumatic for me and my husband took the reins during the process. Over the years I tried my very best to get the bond back by cuddling, reading as much as possible but it's not the same. I feel that this made her a more anxious child than her siblings. If you are reading this Elle just please consider that.
The nitty gritty of motherhood isn't pretty at all but it's what makes us better mothers and a person. My husband manages a huge office and he applies parenting strategies and takes my input everyday in developing his employees. YouTube is entertainment and/or edutainment at best, don't sacrifice your children for viewing pleasure.

Yes. If a mom chose to formula feed I'm not judging and formula fed babies are certainly better candidates for sleep training before 12 months if parents choose that route.okaythatlldo wrote:Just in case I upset anyone with my sleep training comment, I didn’t mean to! Definitely co sleeping and breastfeeding at night to keep supply up is a huge part of making breastfeeding successful. She cut that out too early even before establishing a good routine. To sell her sleep training guide she makes it seem like she was successful in doing both. I hope not too many took the bait and waste their money on that awful non professional advice.

Re: The Lindquists
Your milk supply is highest at night/early morning, and night feeds help build up your supply. No wonder her supply is always so low.
I get that sleep makes you a better parent, but you kinda sacrificed that when you chose to have children...

Do you girls remember that vlog where she knew Cohen had puked in his crib in the morning but she still made the time to make her tea latte and probably had her 15 minutes of Elle time before she went in to get him.

Re: The Lindquists
I think I missed that one. But I do remember one where she was having an emotional breakdown because the boys were not going down for a nap to give her some relaxation time. I felt like side-eyeing her a bit because with them being sleep trained, doesn't that mean she had been getting good sleep(and relaxation time before bed).
Re: The Lindquists
I wonder how Dan feels about a lot of this stuff. I bet their initial arrangement was that he would go to work to financially provide while she was a stay-at-home mom. I bet he envisioned a more child-centered situation... not one where she focused her time with video content, social networking, sponsorships, redecorating, constantly cleaning/decluttering etc. This must take quite a bit of time away from parenting. I may be totally wrong, since I know we only see small bits of their day, but I kinda get the sense Elle's focus is Elle.

Re: The Lindquists
I don’t think Elle wants to breastfeed but it suits her image to breastfeed. It’s not for everyone. And that’s okay. If she were to admit to that instead of try for four months and fail because she’s not doing it properly only to say at least I tried....then it would save herself a lot of time.
Any guesses why there’s no video again today?

But I think she has a sleep training manual to sell...
Yeah, it’s $30!!!!!
I thought that was ridiculous. First - how does nannying for a few years and ‘successfully’ sleep training your own two kids qualify anyone to be able to write a book about it?
Second - I saw someone had commented on the YouTube video that they were disappointed that only a few pages were relevant for them (so in essence, spent $30 for 3 pages of material) and she DELETED THAT COMMENT instead of acknowledging that she was sorry it wasn’t as beneficial as she hoped and maybe was better suited for someone who hadn’t had their kid yet.
Same with this essential wellness thing. If I remember correctly she was at one point doing classes for a nutritionist certificate - but she doesn’t label herself a certified nutritionist (meaning she either she dropped out or never finished or I’m missing something) - but where does she believe that she has the knowledge to appropriately coach people on proper diets and CHARGE them for it? At least she outsourced the workout component to that personal trainer.

Re: The Lindquists
To the person who asked what they think Dan thinks of everything?
I don’t think it matters to Elle what Dan’s opinions are on anything! She’s clearly the one in charge in that relationship.
Also I’m starting to notice a common theme with Elle. She starts a lot of things and doesn’t see them through. Hairdressing. Teaching. Nutritionist. Novelist. Amy I missing anything? Why does she have such ADHD with career stuff? I feel like she never really addressed what she did with her life in her late teens and early 20s. Or past relationships. What is she hiding?

Re: The Lindquists
Her last Everyday Extraordinary series upload didn't go up last week without explanation. Then another Friday with no video and all hush about it. Maybe this is another series/persona/career that she started and abandoned. Seems like she in perpetual state of finding herself. Or she is just so focused on making it big that she going through plan A-Z to go viral again. Like everyone is saying, Elle just cares about Elle.

Re: The Lindquists
I think this was partially revealed in the videos she did with Dan ...the' divulging of their marital issues'. I think honestly she was sorta directionless before Dan and wanted a man/to get married to help ground her life. She wanted to be a stay-at-home mom and therefore wanted someone who could financially support her. Dan fit the bill. She just had to tweak him a bit (cause his style and and more subdued disposition wasn't exciting to her). I am sure there are lots of holes to fill in her recounting of how things went between them. I dunno how long they dated but I think they had an unplanned pregnancy before they were technically fully married (she mentioned this miscarriage briefly but decided not to address). He was a Christian virgin living at home while working trying to find a mate on-line. He likely wanted to marry and start a family too so they had somewhat common goals even if for very different reasons.Notablogger wrote: ↑Fri Mar 08, 2019 11:21 am To the person who asked what they think Dan thinks of everything?

Re: The Lindquists
YES!!!! She said she could smell it as soon as she woke up in the morning, but left him sleeping in it until he woke up on his own an hour or two later. I’m sorry, but that’s just wrong! If my baby slept in his own puke all night long I would be horrified. My only hope is that he didn’t throw up and start crying for her, only to be ignored until he fell back asleep again. Sadly, I’m sure he did cry.Nacholife wrote:Do you girls remember that vlog where she knew Cohen had puked in his crib in the morning but she still made the time to make her tea latte and probably had her 15 minutes of Elle time before she went in to get him.

Re: The Lindquists
Hi everyone I am so thankful i came across this thread page. i just spent the last hour, yes one HOUR perusing comments about ELLE LINDQUIST. To give you some background story, i can honestly say that i know ELLE indirectly for the past 5 years. I really thought she was an honest person and was trying to do some good in the world with her channel and help others especially women and mothers specifically. In 2017 I really made an effort to support her channel, shared her videos, bought some merchandise, I even spent a few hundred dollars on those Doterra oils and supplements through her account name. I was really impressed by her faith and her desire to help others and support women and moms as I was a new mom who was struggling with a colic baby while leaving an abusive husband. Her giving back campaign also really inspired me that someone on youtube could actually make a small difference. Well today was the last straw. This may seem like I am being overdramatic but I really feel duped and quite frankly I am pissed off by Elle's complete lack of integrity, someone who calls themselves a "professional" and "women empowering" and living an "empowered lifestyle". Since November I have been commenting on her videos about her next giving back campaign as I came across a women's charity run by domestic abuse survivors, they help women in 7 different countries. She wasn't replying to me but as i understand she can't respond to everyone so i emailed her SEVERAL TIMES. Probably 4 times since January, just asking her for an update on the giving back funds announcement (where was the money going to next???) and to give her suggestions of how to use the money as back in October (or around there) she asked her audience for suggestions for her next funds to go to an international organization. She never replied, not once. Not even a "thanks for the suggestions", NOTHING. There is no way my emails were going in her spam! So i emailed her one more time but this time i put the subject line as DOTERRA ORDER and lo and behold she replied right away (like two minutes later). i didn't even bother replying or pointing out that my previous emails were not responded to. Now being that today is INTL WOMENS DAY i fully expected something big from Elle this week, maybe an announcement about the giving back fund going to some women fund, or SOMETHING, ANYTHING about women's day. She has done NOTHING. ZILCH. ZIP. I thought she was a women with a voice and wanted to help make a difference in the world but she can't even be bothered when this entire week should have been dedicated to supporting women. I'm not here to spread gossip that i hear about her from our community but lets just say i won't be holding the door for her next time or even give her a side glance. By the way, her ridiculous eye brows are even worse in person. Thank you for letting me vent.

Re: The Lindquists
I’m not surprised by anything you wrote. And I think a lot of us are similar to you here. We feel we got duped by her. We thought she was one thing and then we started to see her true colours. And god forbid we call her out on that, then you get called abusive or you’re attacked by her suppprters or blocked. We’re not just here to be catty. A long time ago, back when I was a “fan” I used to direct message her and she never ever replied. Unlike the other mommy vloggers I follow. That rubbed me the wrong way but I didn’t hold it against her.
She’ll probably say she’s working behind the scenes on her giving back campaign and she’ll think that will hush everyone up. At least for awhile.
How does she come off in real life? Was she only nice to you because you were a customer? I’m curious how she comes off in real life.

Re: The Lindquists
Elle just posted her son sitting in that god awful Scandinavian, minimalist, over priced chair.
She also stole Rachel Hollis’ one liner AGAIN. Someone commented how they like her saying and she didn’t even correct the person to say she got it from Rachel Hollis...
Also, speaking of Hollis... she was at the Doterra event in Atlanta talking to all the #mombosses for their leadership event. I know a whole bunch of reps from Toronto went down for the event. I guess Elle didn’t make the cut.

Nope, not surprised. Totally true: you want a response put Doterra order in subject line or some other heading that relates to $$$...if you message her about other issues nadda.Notablogger wrote: ↑Fri Mar 08, 2019 3:15 pm I’m not surprised by anything you wrote. Re: The Lindquists
It's not surprising to me that she abandons viewers that supported her. With all the women empowerment talk that she keeps preaching I'm surprised she decided to post that overpriced chair that she said low income people should strive to save for. It's a humblebrag/ I-owned-the-haters-with-my-witty-caption kinda post. We all supported Elle at one point in time. It just couldn't be helped if we saw right through her.

Re: The Lindquists
“Someone else’s opinion of you is none of your business.” Better start honouring God then and stop reading here, Elle.
No post for Women’s Day except her insta stories reposting from others who have listed Elle as women they love. In other words, she has spent Women’s Day celebrating HERSELF.
And then one story repost from some other account with a #womensday and “empowered women empower women” added to it. I guess if she makes sure to put the word “empower” on it, it’s extra empowering and people won’t notice that she actually doesn’t care.
