Re: Steps to Avoiding Responsibility - Part 5
Well I guess we'll know how far along she is at some point and then it will be clear if they were lying through their teeth. If she's not pregnant and they used those tags, that's hilarious and embarrassing. Did anyone notice that Missy and Bryan posted pregnancy clickbait the same day? And they say they had the opportunity to bring friends on this Hawaii trip....another reminder that Kelsey and Corbin don't get to benefit from the Lanning gravy train anymore. I really can't imagine how these two can afford a second.

Re: Steps to Avoiding Responsibility - Part 5
Based on the last time she said she had her period (early/mid January) and when she said that she was EXTREMELY late (late February) and her belly, I'm guessing she's about 10 weeks.
So she got pregnant in January. That means they were only trying for about TWO months. SUCH LIARS!
I think she said in that last video about getting pregnant that she was "scared" to test. I'm sure she already knew she was pregnant.

Re: Steps to Avoiding Responsibility - Part 5
They could be announcing super early, but if they're announcing around the same time they did with their last pregnancy (8 weeks or so/after the first doctor's appointment) then it's very likely that they've been lying about struggling to conceive, which is so gross on so many levels. I found out I was pregnant around the first of the year and I'm 14 weeks. I don't think she's quite that far along, but if so then they've been lying about a lot. I could see them announcing super early just to take advantage of June's birthday party and because they've been so vocal about it.ewokfan11 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 19, 2019 8:54 am Called it! Before that I noticed she wasn't drinking at all—and Kelsey is typically quite the heavy drinker. Her face has been puffy (like she's been puking) and she's definitely gained weight.
I'm going to guess they found out around the first of the year. Her "bump" in yesterday's video is more than a couple weeks preggo.

Re: Steps to Avoiding Responsibility - Part 5
I finally had time to go back and watch her video about getting her period in January, so I'm now thinking she's about 10 weeks along. She got her period in January, but not in February. I guess they don't think their viewers can do math.HashtagBlessed wrote: ↑Tue Mar 19, 2019 2:42 pmThey could be announcing super early, but if they're announcing around the same time they did with their last pregnancy (8 weeks or so/after the first doctor's appointment) then it's very likely that they've been lying about struggling to conceive, which is so gross on so many levels. I guess they can say they didn't "lie" if Kelsey said she was too scared to take the test when she admitted she was super late for her period, but I HIGHLY doubt they waited that long to test.

I couldn't help but get a chuckle out of these comments. It appears as if their comments have been disables on their videos, though I only looked on the most recent 3 videos. I'm betting tomorrow will be a pregnancy announcement and they don't want to face the backlash from faking (or heavily insinuating) infertility for views. Neither of them take or handle criticism well.

Re: Steps to Avoiding Responsibility - Part 5
If they did the progesterone test at the end of January that came back low, I bet she ovulated sometime in mid-February. This is just a guess. But I think she was closer to 6 weeks over the weekend when they filmed that video and they are announcing it early. While her last period may have been in January, her gestational age would only include the two weeks prior to ovulation. They backed themselves into a corner by being so vocal about things and I could see them taking the opportunity to announce because family was going to be there for the party.ewokfan11 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 19, 2019 2:51 pmI finally had time to go back and watch her video about getting her period in January, so I'm now thinking she's about 10 weeks along. I'm curious what people could have been saying that would prompt them to disable comments. Enabling comments and then disabling them is super weird. And it looks like they've disabled comments across all their videos. Their videos this week aren't even breaking 10K views.

Re: Steps to Avoiding Responsibility - Part 5
Yup, it's only the last 4 videos with disabled comments. Thats interesting. Stupid Corbin. What is WRONG with these people????? They have got to be the most boring people on YouTube. It seems pretty obvious she's pregnant, but then....they do like to play mind games with their audience, so I'm almost thinking, maybe that's what they WANT us to think. They can bring in the views and money, and then laugh and say "hahaha you guys thought we were pregnant! Nope. Not yet. We still have another 6 months worth of inferilty clickbait left." I love the Instagram comments! Love it when get called out for their bullshit.
Hey Corbin, you might think you have yourself this little following of dummies that doesn't have you all figured out, but those of us with a brain see right through you. You're a sleezy, selfish, greedy little fish. I'm sure you like to tell yourself that anyone that leaves a negative comment is just jealous, no honey. My husband is actually hot! And smart! And a hard worker to provide for our family. You are lazy and ugly, and no one wants your life.

Re: Steps to Avoiding Responsibility - Part 5
Oh never mind, it looks like YouTube disabled comments for family vloggers again? I don't see anyone with comments enabled. Their numbers are dropping fast and I'm sure they're reeling over the fact that they have no engagement on their videos now right before their "surprise" pregnancy announcement.

I went back a few more videos and was able to read comments. The newest 4 videos had comments disabled. Earlier today the comments were still there (on the bday video) but were disabled sometime this afternoon.HashtagBlessed wrote:Oh never mind, it looks like YouTube disabled comments for family vloggers again? It’s not all family vloggers. Even the Lannings still have theirs on. I’m assuming he’s turned them off because they started getting backlash.

YES! This is 100% true. The family vloggers who were NOT moderating their comments had theirs turned off. Corbin has been moderating the comments for more than a year and they've never had it happened before. I totally believe they chose to turn the comments off.

Re: Steps to Avoiding Responsibility - Part 5
Interesting, for me a bunch of family vloggers are showing up as comments disabled. Ellie and Jared, 8 passengers, April and Davey, Phil and Alex, etc. But I see comments are still up for Katie and Cullen and Daily Bumps. Not that I think Steps to Wander falls into the same league as any of these other channels. I assumed it was a YouTube thing because so many were disabled. And for me, it's showing as all Steps to Wander videos have comments disabled, not just the recent ones.
Re: Steps to Avoiding Responsibility - Part 5
Announcement clickbait aside, I actually think that was a cute, appropriate family party for a 2 year old. It's ridiculous that they hyped it up so much, and I personally would not put that much effort into decorating for a party that's just a few family members, but whatever. I'm pleasantly surprised that it wasn't filled with kids (not that they even have any friends with children to invite...), flashy, or overdone. If my kid had a birthday that fell when the weather was ever nice, I could see myself doing something similar.
Also want to touch on something someone else said a page or so back about a pregnancy announcement at their first child's birthday - I don't think that is weird at all. All you family is there, it's super convenient, and I don't think it takes anything away from June (I don't even like the concept of a birthday having to be all about the child - I think it sets up a weird self important dynamic). It's not like announcing your engagement or pregnancy during someone else's wedding toast.

Re: Steps to Avoiding Responsibility - Part 5
I personally wouldn’t want to announce a second pregnancy at my daughter’s birthday, or any child's birthday. I don’t think it creates an expectation of self-importance on the two-year-old’s part to get one party that gets to be about her. To me, it’s kind of like announcing your pregnancy during someone else’s big day. I don’t know how perceptive a two-year-old really is or if she would even notice or care, but as the parent I would want to let that be her day and not make it about myself. At least they didn’t announce at their niece’s birthday! lol Other people might think it's fine to make an announcement at their child's party and that's totally fine.

Re: Steps to Avoiding Responsibility - Part 5
I am sorry, but announcing a pregnancy of another child at the special day of the child who's birthday it is, is exactly like announcing a pregnancy at the wedding of someone else. The day is about June, it is her day. What other day are you celebrated other than your birthday. It doesn't make them self important. It makes them celebrating their day like almost every other person on the planet does. These people do not miss an opportunity for attention so gathering these people (who all looked bored out of their minds) to another gathering for them to plan and make a big deal about is not a stretch.
If it is a pregnancy announcement that is why they were so insistent that chicken house being finished. Because other than that or gifting a 2 yr old chickens.. it has no relevance to the party and they could have done something else.

Re: Steps to Avoiding Responsibility - Part 5
Self importance was probably the wrong word choice. And sure - to each his own, I just don't think birthdays need to be all about anyone in particular. Maybe I'm just not big on birthdays, haha. Announcing at it their niece's birthday would have been shitty for sure, though.HashtagBlessed wrote: ↑Wed Mar 20, 2019 6:39 am I personally wouldn’t want to announce a second pregnancy at my daughter’s birthday, or any child's birthday. And I guess the cat's out of the bag - I like how they didn't include any actual information about how far along she was in their announcement, so we can't sit here and speculate about how long they've been playing the TTC card while they've actually been pregnant.
