I can’t believe she’s been taking anti-anxiety pills for 1.5 years and is just mentioning this now! For someone who claims to be authentic and empowering, I wonder why she felt she had to hide this for so long? It’s nothing to be ashamed of and no one expects prayer and essential oils to solve everything.

This.

Cleaning your bathroom doesn’t empower me.

Sharing real life struggles and how to overcome them, or even just discussing how pregnancy/post partum anxiety is real and common and nothing to be ashamed of - that’s empowering women! I didn’t have PPD for my first, but I did for my second and I put off treatment for way too long because I thought it meant I was a bad mom, ungrateful (after 5 years of infertility) and that my doctor and husband would think I didn’t love the baby, or even call social services. I wouldn’t tell my family because my dad (an asshat) claimed that my moms PPD was because “she was jealous of the attention the baby was getting”. There’s so much stigma and misinformation about maternal anxiety and depression, more women need to speak out and share.

Why won’t she tackle real issues?

She starts discussing it at about 11:40. She basically says about 1.5 yrs ago, due to anxiety and a bit of depression, she started taking prescribed meds to treat it but has been off them since 15/16 wks due to not being able to keep them down.

I totally agree with TeachIT: this type of sharing is WAY more empowering to women than her cleaning videos, hauls, or terrible sponsored content...

I wish she would’ve talked about this long ago. I agree, it’s much more empowering to be able to admit that sometimes you need help and that ITS OKAY. But instead she went on claiming she’s super woman who has an oil for every ailment. I hate her more and more with each passing day.

That has to be the most frustrating- her slinging oils and natural remedies, meanwhile she’s shovelling down pharmaceuticals. Just say you take meds!!! It makes you SO MUCH more relatable! Instead she slings these useless oils she makes a profit off of, pretending they cure all of her ailments.

I also hate how she says how well they work for her migraines, yet we know they do shit because she lays in bed sick from migraines and gets botox for them! YOURE NOT FOOLING US WITH YOUR MIRACLE OILS!

Elle Lindquist logic: complains about 150$ compression stocking that are necessary
Willingly shells out $1500 for bassinet that will get used for less than 6 months.

Honestly though, I don't watch "mommy vloggers" to feel inspired.... or empowered.... that simply isn't my motivation I suppose. I watch because I want to zone out and watch other people going through similar things I'm going through. What is the need for so many of these people to feel like they NEED to be "empowering"? If that's your brand and you're contributing something tangible, that's one thing. But Elle is just floundering like a fish out of water with all her trying to empower.

I find I am (hate) watching her less now, since I had a miscarriage about a month ago. I think whoever said she acts like a prized pig is so right.

Big hugs!! So sorry. I found her content especially painful after my losses, too. She is just very insensitive and smug, especially the stuff about how she’s basically earned this baby because of her relationship with god and her marriage. It makes me sick!

Thank you to everyone who responded to my post a couple of weeks ago about Elle, as expected she still hasn't addressed her Giving Back Fund. What a fraud. What kind of person says they will make a donation and then doesn't follow through? If she needs the money for her new baby it is understandable because I can see she has already spent thousands of dollars, I'm guessing this is why she hasn't addressed her donation in months so as not to bring attention to it.

I wonder if she has done her taxes already and has falsely claimed donations. I hope she realizes she can't claim $1500 baby bassinets as props for her videos.

I wonder what Elle would do/say/feel if she came here and read these comments. Would she be horrified to learn that the way she handles the entire topic of pregnancy is hurtful and insulting to anyone who has experienced pregnancy/infant loss or who has struggled to conceive? Or would it be our problem for being haters? If this doesn’t make her question herself, I don’t know what will. I think she would rather play the victim than admit that she’s hurt anyone with her attitude.

She does read here and she couldn’t care any less about how hurtful she is to people.
People have called her out for her insensitivity directly on her insta, very politely I may add, and then she turns it around and now they’re abusing her.

I know, you’re right. I think it’s just sad that she would rather play the victim than change her behaviours to actually benefit the community she claims to value and represent. She’s super shallow and immature.

I remember when the Giving Back campaign came about, she kept emphasizing the point “this is YOUR money,” “this is money YOU helped generate by watching this channel,” “if you don’t have money to donate yourselves, keep watching this channel and be a part of our community making a difference in the world.” She said things like that over and over and over.

Clearly a fraud. She said things like that to keep boosting her views and subscribers, donated 2-3x, and then no mention of it ever again. It used to be pretty admirable that she would donate large lump sums to local charities.

Or remember that time she gave 3 options for charities, described two very briefly, and then went super in-depth on the third charity which had microchips in their clothing for some reason? She went on and on about that one for 10 mins and surprise surprise, it’s the one that won “by popular demand.” She clearly had an agenda or a deal with that company. It was the first time I found the Giving Back campaign to be a bit sketchy and then it basically disappeared after that.

If this is indeed “our” money, then we deserve an explanation. She still gets paid for us to hate-watch her, so I at least want my time spent watching her videos to fund something beyond Elle’s lip injections!

If you look at the trends of Elle reinventing herself, giving back was during her “Christian family vlogger” phase. She clearly did it rope in views/subs.

Now she’s out of that phase. She’s in a “treat yo self”/Rachel Hollis phase. Mama’s gotta pay for eye lifts and spa days and NY writing retreats and “quality” luxury items somehow, so the donation money has been spent I guarantee.

Just watching her latest video. Is that huge thing on her counter a toaster oven? She has two ovens already. Why does she need a mini one? Doesn’t seem minimal to me especially hands it’s so bulky.

I’m 30 seconds into today’s vlog.

1) she calls everyone on YouTube her “best friend”

2) her annoying fake voice is back in FULL FORCE.

Oh gosh yes... She is such a Rachel Hollis wannabe. I find it unbelievably sad that no matter what she seems to do, she's mimicking someone else. It's not really herself. She sees, she likes, she tries (and fails) to copy.

I read Rachel Hollis' Girl Wash Your Face book, and that lady is a little whack (sorry if anyone here likes her, I just thought everything in her book that was supposed to be inspiring was more like just a bunch of motivational quotes she copied into her book). So it doesn't surprise me that Elle wants to be just like her lol
