Well that is great for them. My point was I think people are being way to harsh when they say they some work, don't have a job, should not be able to rely on social media, etc. Clearly, they're making good money to be able to do all that. If not, it will catch up to them eventually.Ld5 wrote:I have family members that work on commissions. Their spouses have salary jobs and hold the health insurance since that’s more stable. Of course anything can happen.staceyla wrote:I agree somewhat. In that sense, we can't really rely on anything. YouTube channels that fail don't just happen from one day to the next. And I'm not talking about random channel shut downs. They have no control over that just as everyone has no control over being laid off. Social media isn't as unreliable as people tend to think. I don't think it's ridiculous to rely on an income that has been somewhat steady. That's like telling people who work on commission or tips that they HAVE to have a back up and plan and are not smart if they don't. Nothing in this world is guaranteed and unfortunately we cannot always have a backup plan or be prepared. A lot of people don't have that luxury. Otherwise, there would be no point in working any of those jobs.Ld5 wrote:YT is more comparable to a commission paying job. You’re not getting a salary or an hourly wage to rely on. You can make $10 one month or $10,000 another.
