That is just crazy to me. But I guess everyone interprets things differently. It’s entirely possible they are part of the prayer first belief but I think they are just lazy and entitled. They really believe their crap doesn’t stink and the world revolves around them. I am seriously baffled by the number of people who cater to their nonsense.PollyKrome wrote:SqueakyWheel wrote:Thu Apr 11, 2019 8:48 pmI’m Mormon. This would not fly in my house. My children are taught what’s appropriate and why and if I tell them to knock it off they know I mean business. As for how the Mormon community would handle kids mental health needs: I can only speak for my experiences. My kids see a licensed therapist for their mental health issues. I have no idea the therapists religious affiliation. (Could be Mormon, could be something else.) Don’t care. Just like if my kid had a broken leg I’d take them to a specialist and wouldn’t care their religious affiliation. I mean it is Utah so there pretty much a 50/50 shot but I honestly don’t care. I’m paying for their medical expertise not their prayers. I definitely pray for my children and we have sought out a priesthood blessing several times over the years. I was brought up that you first do everything in your power (including seeking out proper medical care from a licensed, trained physician) and then add a priesthood blessing. Not the other way around. I have known a few people who approached it backwards but never understood that approach and never really felt like there was any logic to it. I believe those people are in the minority. It’s my belief that God would expect me to do my part as my child’s parent to protect them and seek out help for them.PollyKrome wrote:
It is truly disgusting. I think its more than TyPerv being a freak and a half. Those girls are acting out their experiences and their feelings. They need an adult to step in and ask them why they are doing this and to explain the boundaries of what is ok play.
Although TyPerv posted it - it was either#notarealnanny recording it; or Tyrone's siblings; or ca$hly's parents.
How does the Mormon community handle children acting out like this? I get the sense that Mormons don't seek therapy beyond the church counseling the parents and praying over it?
I’ve never (until the Gardner’s) known of anyone who believed themselves to be invisible to consequences or anyone that would leave 3 year old children home alone. Tyson and Ashley are a whole ball of wax I just can’t comprehend. And the way they treat their family really disgusts me. Especially Tyson and his mom/siblings but Ashley’s relationship with her dad is super creepy vibes to me. Sorry if I’m rambling. I’m tired and my brain is only half working.

Thank you so much for answering my questions Squeaky Wheel. You've given me a lot to think anout. And you answered in a way that absolutely makes sense. I did ask this of a person who was Mormon who lived next to me about a year ago. In her case her son ended up with a brain tumor and needed a kidney transplant should he be string enough to undergo the brain surgery. I asked "how did it get this far without doctors suspecting all these issues" and she answered in the church they were expected to ask for the blessing or ask for members of the church to come by and pray over him. If awoke without a temperature then they felt the blessing worked. It was the first time I talked to another person with this belief system. I could see what a catch 22 that could be as to take the children in to the doctor Could be seen as a sign that you have a weak belief system or am insult to the members praying over him.
And then the kids inappropriate sexualized play I could see how some sects of the church might not see what they are doing needs to be stopped due to generations of inappropriate behavior.
Its great that you seek mental health support for your kids. I too got it for me kids in a couple of rough patches and we avoided a great deal of the acting out stage - we were prepared when it showed up . I am very sad with the lack of mental health coverage for people of all ages. The lack of insurance coverage for specialists is alarming and it makes me so angry.
In the past I've said that *suspected* that Dr Mumford did the home visits because of this prayer first belief. Now I don't know that for a fact but does that sound feasible? The pastry is dropped on the head and they must get her home to this prayer circle prior to medical care? As I said I don't know for a fact but its just a feeling I have.
At any rate; thank you for speaking up and am seeing my questions

Yes we have it in Massachusetts, it’s the only way my kids have gone bowling.Night lady wrote:Close, CTmy2girls12 wrote:Night lady wrote:The state right above mine, Massachusetts, has duck pin bowling too. Another Canadian here. I assumed the Gardners were bowling 5-pin because they weren't concerned when the one child dropped the ball on her foot. Even a 5-pin ball would hurt, but a 10-pin?! Wow, she could have broken bones in her foot.

Interesting how yesterday’s vlog Tyson was supposedly home in bed deathly ill. But today they’re at the cooker man and he is just fine.
Evie was of course talking like a demon like usual. She really is vile.
“Dad goes CRAZY at Costco”. Tyson bought way too many bags of flower bulbs (that he will likely throw at Oakland to plant). The girls all had giant meltdowns. Sam seemed unamused by their behavior.
Also. It’s not pee-OWN-eez you dumbasses. It’s pee-UH-neez.

An 8 pound (which is pretty light for a 10 pin bowling ball) fell off of the ball return (which is not that high off the ground) and landed on my big toe and wound up breaking my toe. It can happen!Morning Glory wrote:Another Canadian here. I assumed the Gardners were bowling 5-pin because they weren't concerned when the one child dropped the ball on her foot. Grrrr. Why the fuck do they both laugh when the girls are crying. Tyass asks Esme why she is crying but doesn't bother to listen to an answer and keeps talking. Bitchface just laughs her face off when either Esme or Indie is crying in the store. What vile pretend parents they are.

They had 4 adults for 4 kids and still they were crying and whining constantly. I would be so embarrassed by such bratty kids. They'd just eaten a huge meal yet the heavies were having a meltdown because they wanted popcorn, the whole family are just so greedy including the kids. Kids this age should just be eating when they're hungry nothing else. how can they not see what they've done to these kids

Who else saw trash’s IG story with the cupcakes? Trash reads a sign on a display thay says “Do not take the queen from her throne” (the centre piece cupcake with a tiara). Trash says in a very entitled voice “Well what if I AM THE QUEEN?” Looks like her grubby hand goes to take the cake.

It's too early to plant bulbs. You are supposed to plant them in the fall... Same with pee-ow-nees. Idiots.JD386 wrote:Oh and those bags of bulbs are $19.99 each and they showed 11 in the cart. They really do love spending money don’t they?

that what bothers me the most...if your child get hurt n cries, attend to her needs..put the damn camera down n take care of her. If your child is acting out in a public place, do the same thing!Abbiedownunder wrote: ↑Fri Apr 12, 2019 6:23 am Grrrr. Why the fuck do they both laugh when the girls are crying. Do you think they ever watch the vlogs back and see that not only do they constantly ignore parenting to travel away from their so called "miracles", they ignore them when they are with them. It's a sad picture today when Esme was crying and he didn't comfort her. Trash does this all the time. They time and time again have shown themselves ignoring their kids while vlogging and it makes me wonder how much they get ignored when the camera is off. Where is the parenting???? No explanations or corrections, no loving comfort or affection when they are crying out for it. Can you only imagine the drama if Trash dropped a bowling ball on her foot?? She really is pathetic. There focus is never where it should be and their children are paying the price--in more ways than one.
