Re: Schmovies
I’m pretty puzzled by it. The house they were in before was a rental home and not in the best neighborhood. Then they moved to their current house, and it’s in an extremely nice neighborhood. The houses are between 300-500k. They were so excited and proud of being able to move into a home like that and call it their own, so I’m very surprised to see that they’re leaving it. I’m interested to see how it plays out and what they say about it.

Well I suppose this confirms it. She doesn’t exactly sound sad about it. Maybe Tim got a new job requiring a move that will provide some financial stability.
I know he does consulting in addition to his other channel but even with that, I would higher someone to teach me how to be a successful YouTubed if they had two poorly performing channels. I just can’t imagine he makes all that much money off the other business anymore.

Re: Schmovies
I don't disagree with your point with his job giving advice to grow a YouTube channel; you would think his own channel would be doing well. If my memory is right, at one time he hired someone to help edit vlogs? I don't know how he works with brand promotions on YouTube. Tim, at one time, was a youth minister so it seems like he fell into this career by accident with his early vlogging skills. His degree is in ministry. This is from his LinkedIn and I am surprised at the five hundred thousand numbers.Tiger27 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 25, 2019 2:45 am

Jamerrill has shouted him out with helping her tackle a YT camera disaster. I know I've heard of others mentioning him. I think he does help a lot of people.

But is that profitable enough to feed a family with 7 kids? Doubtful. His channel doesn’t seem to get a ton of traffic.onbreak wrote:Jamerrill has shouted him out with helping her tackle a YT camera disaster. I know I've heard of others mentioning him. I think he does help a lot of people.

I didn’t realize he was a youth pastor before.
It’ll be interesting to see where they go from here.

Re: Schmovies
If you go way back in his vlogs (2010), something happened to his position in a church in Minnesota. He briefly mentioned it in this blog. http://www.studentministry.org/im-going ... -ministry/Tiger27 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 25, 2019 5:49 pmBut is that profitable enough to feed a family with 7 kids? I also thought this vlog (2010) questioning how much the congregation should be lead was interesting. I don't know what happened with Tim's position, but he appears not to want to do things if it isn't his way as seen by the home school decisions.
I’m not sure how profitable being a YT consultant is, but he sure has traveled to several areas of the country. He also seems to be a speaker at many YT type conferences. They've lived the Dave Ramsey life that has to help with budgeting too, but seven children will become more expensive to raise in the near future.

Re: Schmovies
That was a quick sale. Tim's IG did tell everyone they are moving, but the why is still unknown. Like a previous message stated they live in a nice home in a great neighborhood. Tim said they are staying local so it will be interesting to know why they decided to move?

Re: Schmovies
They both are excited about this move to a place with more land. It is also wonderful their former nanny, Nicole, is expecting a baby too. She seemed like a nice young lady. I hope the new house is big like their present home and it is good to see Dana feeling so well.
Re: Schmovies
The new house in on 5 acres of land. Altho they really wanted more land...this house was supposed to be a great deal and they jumped on it. I'm ready to see it, hope they do a tour.

Re: Schmovies
Yeah I’m super excited to see it too. I’m glad there no big crazy reason for the move. It just came so suddenly, it was quite surprising. The layout of their current house seemed to really fit their family so I had assumed they’d be staying there for a long time. I hope to see a house tour soon.gibberish wrote:The new house in on 5 acres of land. Altho they really wanted more land...this house was supposed to be a great deal and they jumped on it. Re: Schmovies
I'm all for the family team (I mean, I get it sort of) but I really wish they would let the kids choose different activities, Tim talked about having them all take the same activity instead of letting them all choose different ones, I kind of see his point but maybe he could do it by age (like when you hit xx years old then you get to choose an activity) or something, I feel like he is going to make them do so much together that the kids are going to rebel and want to do less and less.

Re: Schmovies
That bothers me too. I’m guessing their new house is going to be somewhere more remote and with them already being homeschooled, the kids are just going to become more and more isolated. It was there choice to have 7 kids back to back (even if half were oopsies), they need to deal with the consequences. They can’t keep the family cooped up all together forever. None of them will ever develop social or interpersonal skills. Team sports and activities are so beneficial, it’s a shame to miss out of them because you parents overproduced. They will claim they have plenty of friends from church and their siblings are their friends, but it is really important to have a chance at a more diverse friend group outside their own tiny bubble.thenightowl wrote:I'm all for the family team (I mean, I get it sort of) but I really wish they would let the kids choose different activities, Tim talked about having them all take the same activity instead of letting them all choose different ones, I kind of see his point but maybe he could do it by age (like when you hit xx years old then you get to choose an activity) or something, I feel like he is going to make them do so much together that the kids are going to rebel and want to do less and less.

I haven't watched them in a few months, but last I watched both Hallie and Hannah were going to public school and loving it. Did they pull them out before the end of the school year?Tiger27 wrote: ↑Mon May 13, 2019 5:21 pmThat bothers me too. Re: Schmovies
Yep, they pulled out at Christmas break. Supposedly since Dana started feeling better and Zeke was lonely homeschooling alone, Tim was able to realize his ultimate dream of having the family team cooped up with him all day again. Pretty sure the twins even stopped going to preschool. Also I don’t know whatever happened to Zeke and Halle going to the school for speech lessons. Zeke clearly still needs it.Landongmama wrote:I haven't watched them in a few months, but last I watched both Hallie and Hannah were going to public school and loving it. Re: Schmovies
I am watching their recent vlog on PPD. I was hoping she would also talk about how medication has helped her during this time period. I agree healthy eating and faith does help, but I question without medication if she wouldn't still be having problems. Also, having a large family will get even the best of us, the lack of sleep is a tremendous drain on our energy and I image the kids sleeping through the night helps too. I don't believe they will be getting extra help and I haven't heard her in the past speak about "trying to obey" and "serve Tim" which caught my attention.

Re: Schmovies
I had to stop watching the vlog because I was naively expecting her to talk about her medical journey and instead got a big old faith testimony. I won’t discount people’s religion but it would have been nice to at least acknowledge that her doctor and the medication played a huge role in her recovery.YTIG60 wrote:I am watching their recent vlog on PPD. And then she says this...I’m confused. I don’t think her thyroid problem and ppd are normal parts of postpartum recovery, hence why her symptoms were disabling to her and she needed medication to recover. Very odd she’s now writing it off like it was just normal postpartum...

Re: Schmovies
She had an opportunity to help other women who follow her that appear to have larger families. My opinion, she should have stated without the help of a physician who advised her she needed an antidepressant, her faith might not have been enough.Tiger27 wrote: ↑Mon May 20, 2019 1:31 pm And then she says this...I’m confused. Re: Schmovies
I wonder how well maintained their new house is with Dana needing to really clean out the dryer vent which could be a fire hazard. Do they live that far out in the country owning just five acres. From what I can see in IG, the house looks nice.
