His/their ignorance is the problem.

As a white women raised in a very white town who now has godchildren of various ethnicities, I make it my business to ensure that I am racially aware and sensitive.

As an adult you can no longer blame your ignorance on your up bringing either. Racism and inequalities are present in everyday life whether it be in your community, on the news or on social media outlets; its your choice whether or not you chose to educate yourself. At the very least they should of chosen to educate themselves the moment two black children were adopted into their family.

The fact that he is unwilling to acknowledge how the video could be upsetting/triggering is disrespectful and pure arrogance.

Racism is so pervasive and it doesn't help that people don't understand what "white privilege" really means. I certainly don't think Cole gets it. The way I described it to my kids, and what really made me understand, was Trayvon Martin's murder. They talked about him "wearing a hoodie" as if simply being a young black man in a hoodie made him threatening. I have never had to tell my son how to act when he's pulled over so that he doesn't get shot. I don't have to worry about him walking to 7-11 at night, whether or not he wears a hoodie. So many white people go along in their little bubble completely unaware of the way their skin color just makes things easier. And I am not trying to say I'm better than anyone else. Just that I try to be aware. And Cole's reaction to the criticism shows me that he doesn't care about being aware of how his actions might be perceived. I _think_ it's mostly immaturity, but I doubt that he is going to mature or become "woke" anytime soon.

Unfortunately, I think Cole knew what he was doing when he posted that video. I'm black and the video is highly triggering. It's not something the black community is taking lightly. This may offend some here, but there are some white people who adopt black children for insidious reasons. Not all white people, but the video is raising concern for Truman and his sister's welfare for valid reasons.

In my personal opinion, I think Cole and his family are very off. The way they treated Everleigh and the lies they've told are very disturbing.

I think Cole lacks the ability to see it from other perspectives. He wanted people to see that he has an adopted (Black) cousin who is sweet to his peers. He was unable to see how anyone could have an issue with it. His lack of apology and blocking the reporter is just appalling.

I’m upper middle class, white and non religious. I like to think that I’m aware and empathic of others struggles, but instances like this remind me it’s easy to not get a full view of the affects of racism. It reminds me of this time in college and I was working, a local cupcake shop opened up and gave us free samples. One of my friends was in the storage room and couldn’t get a cupcake, so I got him one. He happened to be black. But all I thought was “my cupcake loving friend will be so sad he missed this.” And older man who worked with us lectured me on it and how I needed to be safe and aware. I was so naive. I was like “my cupcake loving friend would have missed out on a cupcake.” Later my friend explained that same coworker had said some borderline racist things to him in the past and I was just heartbroken. It might seem like nothing but it was huge for me and has obviously stuck with me. I had worked by that guy for a couple years and had no idea. I felt so bad for my cupcake loving friend (who loved the fact that I snagged him a cupcake).

It appears your co-worker hid his racism until your black co-worker was not around. Some people are overtly racist while others are covert racist. The video is an example of covert racism. I'm glad you looked out for your co-worker and got him a cupcake.

I think people want to give him the benefit of the doubt, but he's not just ignorant. He may come across a certain way on film, but his actions and words show his true nature.

I’m not even surprised by Cole in this situation, more like disgusted. The two of them are so blissfully unaware of the struggles minorities face. Even MLK’s daughter spoke out on it. That’s big. I wonder if Cole will address it (very doubtful though)

Double post, but forget James Charles/Tati/etc. Cole and Savannah are the toxins on YouTube who need to be cancelled. I bet they’re absolutely loving the new abortion bans in several US states. An 11 year old who is a victim of a traumatic rape now must go through with pregnancy and birth or she will be charged with a felony? C&S must be very pleased! Shame on them. I would say I don’t know how a Trump-supporting “Christian” white-privileged family is so famous, but then I remember that their audience is mostly 10 year olds. Disgusting

I think they’re dumb but they’re business smart. They know to not bring their radical views to YouTube or Instagram. Their main follower base has no interest in Twitter. That’s why you’ll only see Cole talking about praying the depression away on Twitter.

I think they are smart enough to know that if they aired their true opinions on either Instagram or YouTube that some parents would put their foot down and ban their videos.

I think it showed a lot about the reality of daily vlogging and when they say stuff like ‘we never discipline the girls when we’re filming that day because it’s too much effort’ it definitely says something about the way they’re bringing up their kids. All this definitely applies to cole and sav as well

What a cop out. Why vlog if you aren't going to show real life? They might as well set up scenarios/games, etc for the girls to do when they're well behaved if they do that--but even still, kids misbehave and need redirection and often need a punishment or to be talked to.

Kyler does have a point that he does more of the camera work and the editing so that means Madison is more hands on. He's essentially working from home when he does that and you can't really work from home and be fully hands on. I hope they were serious about making jokes and letting the kids be who they want to be, I kind of side eye that with the insane amounts of matching the twins do but time will tell. They don't seem nearly as stuck up as Cole and Sav.

One last point, I'm always let down by these videos. I would love for them to do a video where they aren't picking the comments, I don't know who would pick them but overall I feel like whenever a vlogging YouTuber does these they pick generic and easy ones.

So cole has been playing with slime on Instagram he made like four videos making it and playing with it. Meanwhile he been saying in a lot of vlogs that Everleigh can’t have any because it’s messy. I understand not liking slime but to play with it and have it around your child when you said they can’t have it is rude, hypocritical and immature. He needs to grow up. You want to be a good dad? Set good examples.

I wonder how Savannah really feels about Cole. Is the love only for the views? Or do they actually love each other? Because sav and cole always looked fake to me. They act like they’re the most perfect couple and parents and like they don’t fight and make mistakes like everyone else. And I expect Cole to be an immature ass because he’s only like 22 and had no kids ( before posey). But Sav is older. She has two babies to take care of. Idk I expect more out of sav. And I bet 90% that once they aren’t popular in like 2-3 when people are over them, they’ll get a divorce and we’ll see them separate. And I’ll be here for a video of Sav crying and exposing Cole. But either way Everleigh and maybe Posey will have to face problems due to being raised on a vlog and forced to make money for mommy and daddy. Ps I’ll also be here for a video of Everleigh when she’s like 14/15 saying that she feels like her parents used her and lied to her and she needs a break from the internet because she never known a life off it and makes a good life for herself.

They are honestly the worst type of people. Spoiling themselves with the most unnecessary things and showing Everleigh that she can get whatever she wants whenever she wants. When was the last time C&S actually thanked their subscribers, or done a giveaway to give back to the people who essentially pay for their house and lifestyle? Tbh they make me sick. They are the epitome of greed and gluttony. I hope they read this.
