On one show I saw a chatter ask Tawra a question about budgeting

Tawra never answered that, but....Are you fans insane? Tawra and Mike are not experts in health matters. Yes they do have some good financial advice (the same advice other finance experts give) but they are not experts in food, cooking, health and nutrition.
The other day Tawra made sloppy joes, cole slaw and apple slices for their meal. Said it was "healthy".
Tawra its not healthy. Thats backyard BBQ food. Its FULL of sugar and white flour. Okay once in awhile but not a healthy frequent dinner.
Its a DESSERT DINNER. All sugar.
If you cannot afford the meat, add TVP or lentils and nix the cole slaw and apples for salad (vinegar and oil or Italian) and maybe garlicky green beans... Save the fruit for Dessert.
The sloppy joes for 4 ppl had 1 cup meat and a large amount of brown sugar and sugar from ketchup.
The cole slaw had a large amount of white sugar and the apples and white bread bun add MORE sugar.
This spikes insulin and sugar and you will crash a few hours later right before bed and either wake up grumpy or submit to cravings.
And if a diabetic or hypoglycemic eats this meal, whew boy!
Hypoglycemia is where your pancreas releases too much insulin everytime you eat, making your blood sugar drop too far. Hypoglycemics need 6 small meals spread evenly thru-out the day, They should not have a high carb diet. They need healthy lean protein, healthy fats and veggies. If they must have a carb, make it a whole grain carb. All of the above keep a Hypoglycemic full longer, with no sugar spikes and the protein, fat and whole grains, take longer to digest and so your blood sugar stays level.
I personally do not believe you can really eat anything out of DOAD as a diabetic or hypoglycemic. Far too much high inflammation, high carb, low nutrition foods. But this is my opinion. I really wonder how many Kellams have either the shits or constipation on the regular?
Id go so far as to say that the Official Diabetic Diet is not good for diabetics either. If you want to stay alive and keep your toes, switch to a Low Carb/KETO diet. Or if you are a brittle diabetic, The Dr Hays diet is best. (Not the HAY diet) Dr Hays kept someone I know alive 15 yrs with Brittle Diabetes after she was told she had 6 months to live. Be aware that its difficult to find the book. But its basically all protein.
Tawra never reads or watches news things, she doesnt understand health issues. The other day she said she didnt care what she puts in her own body, why would you trust that? She told you that she “practically eats Keto anyway, and then rattled off that she eats ½ cup rice and 2 slices gluten free bread a day. Tawra thats not Keto! Tawra if you dont know about something, SHUT YOUR IGNORANT MOUTH!”
I have been fighting the family genetics of diabetes for 10 years now. I am fighting hard. If you wanna stay alive, get off most carbs...PERIODT!

Everytime you eat sugar or white flour, white rice or potatoes your body needs to release insulin to deal with it. The more insulin you release, the less effective it becomes cause your cells stop wanting to accept sugar cause it cant use it all, till one day your pancreas poops out and you become diabetic and need even more insulin. Each time you eat sugar or carbs you kill off Beta Cells in the pancreas, increasing your diabetes or diabetes risk and preventing your body from recovering. The best way to prevent this is NO sugar or white flour etc, lots of protein and veggies and exercise.
Do you understand what is meant by SWEETNESS ACUITY?

Sweetness acuity is what happens if you put sugar in EVERYTHING, you then NEED it in everything. This is why Barilla Pasta sauce from Italy, had to add sugar to its recipe for the American mkt, cause our sweetness acuity is so high, and unhealthy. You dont need sugar in pasta sauce or homemade apple sauce or a lot of other things.. Stop it, you are killing ppl.

This country runs on food lobbyists, what they do is LOBBY to have the grains portions be larger than the meat and fruit part. This is just to appease the grain and starch corporations/lobbyists in this country, but we as humans really do not need all those grains... If these DELUXE doctors had their way it'd be half lean protein, half veg and no grains. More about DELUXE doctors in a future post.
Most diabetic forums are full of diabetics eating LOW CARB/Keto. Most diabetics have come to realize that the Diabetic Diet, is not good for diabetics. The worst thing to do is buy those Diabetic Cooking magazines, full of sugar and carbs.
So, If you want to keep your toes and be healthy with diabetes or hypoglycemia or combat prediabetes you cannot buy cheap food. You need healthy fats and lean meats and in order to stop being bored, you will need Erythritol or Allulose and other low carb foods to satiate you. These are all pricey. The closest thing to bread out there right now is SmartBaking buns and cakes (Zero Carb and $35 a box)
Health is something you cannot scrimp on. Once your health starts declining its hard to get it back.
LOVE and care about yourself, you are worth the extra money to nourish your body and mind.
If you are cheap with yourself, you are saying you arent worth it.
