Re: Til Vacuum do us part
Of course she comes to this site!! Notice how everytime we talk about something (her music, her perfect world, her eyelashes) within a day or so - she does a video with the suggested changes or a "Car Chat" where she talks about how her world is "not perfect" - girl please!!
Re: Til Vacuum do us part
I don’t think any of her subscribers are upset they didn’t receive a $2000 bag. I think people are rightfully upset that this woman used a luxury bag giveaway as a ploy to gain subscribers and wound up doing what many of us knew she would do from the get go and that was keep it for herself.Fi8821 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 09, 2019 1:48 pm I HOPE none of her subscribers are upset they didn't receive a $2000 bag when her channel is about cleaning. That was not a good marketing strategy to gain 100k and now she sees that. It's not selfish for her to keep it. She has to be smarter about her audience though.
If you watch the video closely where she’s taking the bag out of the box for the first time listen very closely. You’ll hear her breathing heavily with her excitement. Then drones on for 15 minutes with stories on justifying her actions. I just don’t buy that the bag was ever for her far fetched giveaway in the first place.
And who uses speaking to God as a way to justify keeping a purse in the first place? When she said she spoke to God in the shower and it led her to this decision that’s when I knew for sure she has a problem.

Trust me, the purse was not lonely from not being carried and if you really think like that, maybe you should have stuck to your word and done the giveaway a little early.
The purse was never for a giveaway and having a couple of luxury bags myself I can tell you that LV purse has been out of the box and used multiple times before this video.
I thought it looked used too. Not to the point of years of use obviously but I believe she has taken it out before. She even tried to point out how it will age.
Also I’ve noticed this spending habit in those who have completed/joined the Ramsay movement. Not everyone!! Some really do a great job, get out of debt, and do what he encourages and that is to give back. Yet there are a small population of these DR folks who get out of debt and live an incredibly entitled and lavish lifestyle. At the beginning, I admired her approach to saving money and repurposing items. She brought in new decor only if she sold old decor. She used old furniture and gave it new life. Now all of that old repurposed furniture is being replaced by new pieces. While I find YouTube entertaining and like to watch the videos I would NEVER start a channel. It turns honest, mostly decent women into greedy, money hungry people who overspend and expect gifts from subscribers. Every time I think I find someone relatable, they gain or buy a few more subscribers and turn into the real housewives.

Just another example of how out of touch she is. I pray to God that we can make our paychecks last until the next one. Or that my immunocompromised baby's fever will go away. Or that my husband's insurance will continue to cover his pills for a heart condition. I dont pray asking if I should keep a purse I promised to give someone else. If Ashley ever had to face a REAL problem, she would fall flat on her face.

Re: Til Vacuum do us part
I don’t believe they’ve ever gotten out of debt. This is just an assumption and I could be wrong but they’ve always struck me as a couple that have lived beyond their means. I think she saw YouTube as an opportunity to do something from home that fuels her need to spend money because as soon as she gained more subscribers and started putting multiple ads in her videos the repurposing of furniture stopped and the almost daily shopping trips to Ross and other stores began.
I don’t know much about Dave Ramsey or his way of getting out of debt but I watched another family talk about doing his steps and they didn’t have false eyelashes and $800 watches to go along with the 2-3 luxury bags she bought within a years time while they ate out every night. That still screams problematic spending habits to me but that’s their business. The problem is that they’re putting their business on the internet as though they’re aficionados on the get out of debt subject but tripping over their stories at the same time like how she told her subscribers she talked herself into getting a stainless steel Apple Watch for weeks and found one for $200 at Walmart. The problem with her story is that they don’t carry that particular Apple Watch and definitely not for that price. I just feel like they stretch the truth to fit a narrative so that people will flock more to their channel. There are times that I watch her videos and I smile but most of the time I watch and scratch my head trying to figure out if people really are that dumb enough to believe the stories she’s telling.

You took the words right out of my mouth about if she ever had to face a real problem then she would fall flat on her face. I pray she never does but I don’t understand the concept of using God or your religion to justify putting a $2000 bag on your wrist.

Re: Til Vacuum do us part
Someone said it before, I think she grew up pretty blessed. She doesn’t seem to be able to handle not getting her way. They eat out pretty much every single day for lunch and dinner. I know I would be DEAD BROKE if we ate at restaurants that often. Olive Garden isn’t a cheap meal either. (Especially when we order wine hehe). Also her husband seems like a good guy but I don’t think he even knows how to tell her NO at this point. And how does her daughter “save up” money to buy things? I think Ashley just buys her what she wants.

When Ashley took the handbag out of the packaging, was the condition as a luxury handbag arrives un-used:
Covered in a dustbag?
Was the bag itself still in the protective plastic bag when taken out of the dustbag?
Did she take out large wads of paper inside which would have held it's shape and kept any inside moisture out?
Was the hardware still covered with the protective plastic overwrap?
Did she pull out the care card and tag from the main pocket inside? Did she look it over and set it aside for later reference?
Was the handle still wrapped in its protective wrap?
Or was it just ready to go?
This bag was NEVER meant to be anything less than a pawn in her game. Period. Hiding behind God now that it didn't work out makes me see her on a differently. It's not a good look on a woman of faith. Is this the real Ashley?

Re: Til Vacuum do us part
I caught the tail end of today's video and it sure seem like Savannah's going to be doing a lot of teaching herself for the upcoming school year. How sad. Put her in a real school if you're "so busy with YouTube" that you cant find them to prioritize her home schooling. I feel so sad for Savannah. She is going to grow up just like her mom because she never gets exposed to anything different.

Re: Til Vacuum do us part
OK, so I suffered through the first 10 minutes of her latest video. I had to stop and give my eyerolling a serious break. I could not get past all the "sells" (sales), "feel" (fill) and how she met someone from ...get this.... "elen-mentary" school! JUST WOW! What accent does she even have?? And how do so many people who speak so poorly even allowed to homeschool their children?
Also, stop humanizing a PURSE!! It's sad, disturbing and should not even be a part of human civilization. I just cannot listen to such garbage. Burn it!
Filling in lashes? OK, I know alot of women do this. But Ashley, listen closely. Did they not teach you in church that GOD MADE YOU JUST AS YOU ARE? I'm SURE He gave you eyelashes!! Waste, waste, waste. It's living in straight up vanity, that's all that is! Yeah, get the magnetic ones, I'm sure that'll be great! sigh
Oh, and I saw that TJ Maxx is hiring. Get in there and get a real job!
There, I'm done! LOL I may or may not finish the video.....

Re: Til Vacuum do us part
I firmly believe she made a point of talking about her eyelashes and asking about magnetic ones because she read comments here that the extensions are awful.
Re: Til Vacuum do us part
It won’t let me quote the woman who asked but the bag was not in the dust bag when she took it out of the already opened box. That’s why I say it seems like she’s already had her hands on it and used it. Which is fine but just be honest about it rather than telling a long and stretched out story to elude people from the point which is
She never got the bag with the intention of giving it away. It doesn’t come off that way at least.

I went back to watch her showing it again—it wasn’t stuffed or had any protective wrapping. It looked squishy when she pulled it out. The most expensive purse I own is a Michael Kors that cost about $400. It was stuffed, had plastic wrapping over the handles, paper over the hardware, and it came with a dust bag.
Re: Til Vacuum do us part
I have the exact speedy that she shows in the video and that’s why I say it has definitely been used or taken out of the box prior to this video. Maybe she assumes people are below her and wouldn’t know any better.

Re: Til Vacuum do us part
I am trying to imagine her telling Chase that God put it in her heart that she should use the LV Speedy now and she can buy another or give the amount in cash instead when she does her 100k giveaway.
I knew a woman that hated her new job after being a SAHM for many years—she ended up telling her husband that God told her to quit her job and stay at home with the kids again. God has never spoken to me but if he does, I hope it’s to tell me it’s ok to get someone to come clean weekly for me. My house has been a mess since school got out—it’s been weighing heavy on my heart. Lol

Way to drop your kid into the homeschool abyss, Ashley. Your first and most important job is to your kid, who you pulled out of regular school so you could provide that stellar education. Yet here you are, putting busy busy busy YouTube over being the one educating your kid.

So honest question, because my most expensive bag was from an outlet lol. When you actually go into an LV store, would the bag still have all the wrapping and stuffing? I don’t believe for a second she intended on giving the bag away but would going into the store have something to do with it?

Re: Til Vacuum do us part
I worked for COACH for years and our procedures were the same as LV’s. We would look in stock to pull from first we had 100’s of the popular styles, fresh from factory all wrapped up. We would box those up first for the customer, that way it was fresh for them or the gifted person. If we didn’t have any in the back we would wrap them ourselves with coach tissue paper, the handles, the inside?the hang tags ,the addition straps or accessories and use coach stickers instead of tape. Then box it with ribbon and bow and bag it. So, IMO she already used it then threw it back in the box. She’s sure a liar for a religious gal, but I digress.Lifeisfun wrote:So honest question, because my most expensive bag was from an outlet lol. Re: Til Vacuum do us part
I watched that part again too. She really did lead on in the beginning that she was just going to give it away now. I guess I didn't catch that the first time because I already knew what was going down because I read here first. And yes it definitely looked "soft" like it had already been used. I worked with high end bags (Coach, Dooney, kors) and when we displayed the bag everything came off BUT we usually had a backup that was still wrapped that we would give to the customer. And when we didnt have the backup, we would still stuff it and put in the dust bag. I dont know what LV does if it's a bag that comes right off the display.
