Does anyone know who those other kids were in the "challenge" videos last week? I watched maybe 30 seconds of one video and they went right into a "challenge" without explaining who anyone was.

Friends from North Carolina. The one boy is Carson, who they always talk about Evie texting/talking to.

Kendal is really laying into her viewers on Twitter. Her latest tweet is almost beyond belief. My description of it won’t do it justice. You have to see it for yourself.

She’s really bent out of shape that a handful of her followers are disappointed they dropped vlogs entirely and became a challenge channel.

Why does this surprise her? It’s been YEARS of “welcome to our family”, “we’re so grateful you’ve joined our family”, “we appreciate you guys so much”. Of course it’s going to be jarring when, all of a sudden, the entire channel turns on a dime and becomes something *completely* different.

She says herself that views are way up and the change is permanent as vlogs aren’t worth doing anymore (her words). But even the slightest resistance is enough to set her off on her own followers/viewers/fans.

If you’ll notice, I haven’t posted anything negative about Kendal in my short time here. Nobody is perfect and everyone has faults. But this latest outburst is too much, even for me.

Homeschooling is amazing, but you have to do it right. I do think that you can also do it with a special needs child...but you need to still get them therapy and services outside of your homeschooling. With special needs children, public school can turn into "warehousing". I have known parents that started to homeschool for that reason. But their kids have therapies several times a week and the parents actually devote a lot of time to the homeschooling itself. Hampton doesn't seem to be in therapy, period. These people really give homeschooling a bad name because more people watch them than the channel dedicated to homeschooling that do it right (mostly just watched by people who homeschool or want to homeschool). Kendal just pretends to homeschool but her kids really seem to spend all day in front of electronics and being filmed. I do hope that Kapri just had bad homeschooling and isn't (also?) dyslexic. If it's just bad teaching, she can catch up. If she is dyslexic and stays undiagnosed and untreated, it could be disastrous for her.

She’s had so many teens telling her she’s beautiful and she’s a wonderful mother that she has almost turned 180 deg and become everything you don’t want a mother to be. No discipline, can’t say no, constant shopping trips, improper diet of fast food and restaurant...sad for the whole family

Yeah, I would say that's pretty rude.

I just checked and it looks like the one actual vlog they did will end up as their most-viewed video of the week (possibly the most-viewed in the past 2 weeks). I'm glad to see that. The "challenges" are losing steam already. How could they not? They're so contrived and ridiculous.

Plus, these "challenge" videos are getting even worse now that they have added so many corny sound effects and camera effects to the videos. They are complete unrecognizable compared to the stuff they were doing even 3 months ago. Like a totally different channel.

YouTube vlogging really is best suited for people who do it on the side as a hobby or for some extra income. The few family channels I've followed all started that way. Once the parents quit their job(s) and make YouTube their full-time occupation, everything goes down hill.

I noticed that as well! The day it was uploaded she commented back to someone to go & look because the vlog wasn’t doing as well as the challenges “already” a few hours after posting. Not considering they also posted it on a day they don’t normally. Challenges are getting hits because they’re new but I’m sure within a month or 2 they will lose their charm.

Also just remembering Kendal explaining they had to rent their FL home because their YT income wasn’t stable enough to show to buy a house...feeling like there’s extra pressure to be making lots of money and lots of views for that reason which I get. My main issue is wishing she would be more upfront & honest and explain yes it is about views and it is about money because this is our livelihood and we have a family to feed and a house to buy and bills to pay rather than getting snarky on social media and telling people they don’t “even know them” when they say it’s about money...I think this would gain them even MORE views by being honest with the OG vlog viewers

She would probably go back to the claim of people only watching when something "crazy" happens. I personally think it's really weird but a lot of preteens/teens are into puberty related videos so she probably only posted that vlog because she knew it would get a lot of attention. She probably won't vlog again until Brinley gets her period.

I would truly love to know how much money they’re making from YouTube. I suspect a lot because they keep spending. New Polaroid camera for brinley. My daughter wanted an instant camera for her birthday and Polaroid was they most expensive by far so she didn’t get a Polaroid. It’s not even Brinley’s birthday.

I'm not surprised Kendal talks to people like that. One girl had even said in a comment she had just found their channel and started watching and Kendal replied "your commenting but your not following here" (Instagram). How would she like her daughters to be talked down to like this?

I looked into it once because I was curious how people could actually make a living off this and it averages about $18-$30 per 1,000 views. So given the numbers on the latest videos they’re easily making a couple hundred thousand a year, if not more than that...honestly close to half a million probably.

They also can probably use everything they buy for the challenges as tax write offs too so not a bad deal

Exactly right! Just saw it on her instagram-someone commented saying how many views the vlog got & that people miss them and Kendal responded “anything shaving or period related always gets a lot of views”

I just don’t get it-they say vlogging was too exhausting but if you put it up to me I would say just filming as I go about my day sounds much less exhausting then some half scripted pre planned activity that we have to go and do that day...these kids are gonna get sick of running around the mall soon then what

It's probably only a matter of time before they get banned from that mall as I know security has gotten onto them before. I ran around and acted stupid at malls plenty when I was a teenager but my parents weren't there to condone and film it and it wasn't every single day. Mall staff is probably really sick of them by now.

I think they honestly are a lot more “scripted” than we all think. It’s pretty obvious Kendal and Daniel give the kids some kind of limit or budget on these “no budget/I’ll buy anything video”. Kendal will go on and on that her kids aren’t greedy so they don’t care but kids are kids! They don’t grasp the concept of costs all too well...like Brinkley picking out a phone case during a no budget at the Apple store when she previously wanted a MacBook soooo bad...a kid wouldn’t think to do that on their own so you know there’s some behind the scenes limit setting we don’t see.

I think they are told to be upset when they don’t win because it makes it seem like they actually enjoy doing the challenges and care more when they clearly don’t...

They’ve become very wasteful with purchases for people who used to make videos about budgeting and not having a lot and shopping at goodwill...she said Kapri was going to donate everything she bought in the last video because Kendal didn’t like it

I think the kids will get pretty sick of them soon too...she said she always gives them a choice to participate so I wonder what would happen if they all didn’t want to do it what day...bribery I’m sure

I feel bad for the kids because they’re kept on such a tight leash esp with being homeschooled...when I was evie’s age I NEVER wanted to be home or hanging with my parents!!!
