Bonnie Hoellein: Busy As A Bri | Part 55

YTIG60 wrote:So she had her second surgery "stomach surgery/hernia repair" on Monday. Insurance may cover a hernia repair/diastasis repair, but once you say tummy tuck, it is plastic surgery that will not be covered. Plastic surgery is expensive, my guess higher in LA, so why wouldn't you try to have this procedure covered by having a diastasis repair procedure. I think it will be interesting to see her recovery that generally an overnight stay, short term narcotic pain medication before transitioning to ibuprofen/tylenol. YouTube income has changed since the first surgery so I question if this was taken into consideration with this second procedure.
Bonnie walked up many many steps in the cave, was noticeably short of breath and I think they already live or in a higher elevation area so it should be easier to adapt to this. Landon's knee taping provided a miraculous recovery.
OR clerk here, a diastasis repair is essentially a tummy tuck. Both are scheduled and billed under abdominoplasty and the only difference is that a tummy tuck goes one step farther and usually involves far more lipo or excess skin removal. A diastasis recti is a gap in the muscles, it is not a hernia. An umbilical hernia, which I believe she has also said she has, is a completely different procedure.

But you are incorrect that an abdominoplasty won’t be covered. It’s all about the doctor’s dictated history and the diagnosis, and not about the procedure name itself. That is just medical terminology. It doesn’t mean the same thing in medical speak as it does to the average person.

Example: we do Rhinoplasties on men all the time. They aren’t nose jobs like you would think, though someone having their nose modified for cosmetic reasons would also be having a Rhinoplasty. The difference is in the doctor’s diagnosis and the perceived “need” for surgery.

Well at least Bonnie was upfront on the surgery this time! Once again we see another child that has wore out shoes! They have the money to buy their children needed items, plus I think they had a shoe sponsor earlier in the year.

I don't think I expressed what I meant and she said she needed a diastasis recti repair not abdominoplasty or tummy tuck if I'm correctly remember what she said last summer? Did she try conservative treatment first? A hernia repair should be covered. I think I'm looking at the cost of this second procedure after the first one with YouTube income that is falling. They've likely spend tens of thousands of dollars on the last procedure with the complications. My guess is she is back in LA with the same surgeon she had for the first procedure and most of this will be out of pocket expenses.

Poor Cody with those old shoes. He even said they were “like 3.5 years old”. I don’t understand it at all. Most people buy their child AT LEAST 2 or 3 pairs of good quality shoes a year. At least. Didn’t his feet grow in those years? :(

Most cases of DR cannot be repaired without surgery. Small ones in someone who was fit their entire pregnancy is one thing, but after having multiple children? Nope. It’s actually harmful to do most exercises while you have a separation because it can make it worse. She probably shouldn’t have even had a regular trainer, and should have had a physiotherapist.

An abdominoplasty IS the rectus repair. They are the same procedure, one just goes a step farther to deliver a more cosmetic appearance (lipo).

To use a better example. Insurance will cover a Brest reduction. You can have your breasts reduced, but if you want the fat sucked out of your armpit area, then you have to pay $1000k extra for that equipment and time. Insurance won’t cover something cosmetic. Bonnie always had to pay for the lipo regardless.

Well since the ones Cody had on today were totally wore out, couldn't they get him a cheap pair to wear till school starts? A lot of people have one pair for like school or church, then another for casual or play time. It's not like they are dirt poor!

I forget this when I posted before. There was a sign saying don't touch in the cave and Bonnie makes a point of having Lincoln touch it anyway and said it. I wouldn't even noticed it till Bonnie brought it up. Yep, the comments on IG and on here does get to Bonnie. She makes a point all the time to do whatever people are pointing out!

Do you think this is their strange way of having fun with this board filming (again) Cody's old smelly worn out shoes? I mean why is their kid's poorly conditioned shoes featured a few times in vlogs. Then you see Bonnie film her numerous shoe purchases. I do believe they read here. Or perhaps I'm incorrect and they don't keep their kids in good shoes or both.

That was sad. Maybe I wasn't paying close enough attention, but were Lincoln and Eve unattended in the hot tub?
Yes but they had on life jackets. Apparently that's all they need to be safe - smh
And they have Heavenly Father to watch over them and keep them safe. He wouldn’t dare let anything happen to the Griffiths family.

If that's her way of having fun with the board then that's just disgusting. The poor kid was freezing due to the holes in his shoes. How uncomfortable that must be.

She has plenty of money for cosmetic surgery and fancy dinners but her son has to wear shoes that have holes in them not to mention smell bad. Unbelievable. The strangest part of that is the new shoes he has are free. On a side note, someone earlier wrote on her Instagram that she shouldn't get a tummy tuck because it takes a long time to heal. Bonnie (or Joel) deleted that post.

Joel too. The money spent on his hair plugs and SECOND new truck would definitely pay for an extra pair of shoes for all the kids!

Joel and Bonnie don't have a problem spending the money on themselves though. Do you suppose there's a college fund set up? I'm guessing no.

Guaranteed there isn’t a college fund. Missions fund maybe, but Joel did just fine without college, so I bet they think it’s just a waste of money.

She should come to Europe to have her surgery done. At least in my country we hardly get any pain killers at all, aside from Ibuprofen and possibly Novalminsulfon (Metamizole), even after bigger surgeries. There is a American youtuber who actually talks about those differences in treating pain:
