If she was that ill last time, why the HELL would she choose to do it again this time with four children 10 and under? It's unfathomable to me. Sorry- I know I've said this before but I cannot get over it!

Ugh, Bonnie really irks me. I used to watch her a lot when I was pregnant with my first child. Now she’s just gone crazy.
Last year I had surgery for appendicitis that burst and I went septic. This was six months after I had my second child. After being in the hospital for a week on heavy medication, I went home and refused to take anything stronger that otc pain relief. Why? because I had a husband, a two year old, and a six month old I had to get well for. I mean, it must be nice to have the luxury of laying in bed and not taking care of your family. Hey lady, that isn’t real life. You know what is? A pill addiction that is going ruin you, and you’re going to lose your family because of it.

Girl, I feel you! Sorry to get personal- but last month I was recovering from a ruptured appencitis surgery and also went septic- that is NOT fun and so incredibly painful! Stayed in the hospital for 15 days- but when I came home, it was back to reality. I took it easy, of course- everyone should right after surgery. But the thing is, normal people need to get back to their routine. We don't get to live in this fairytale land where we lay around in bed for 6 months. Something that is the same for us is that this medical emergency was outside of our control. It just happened to us, we didn't go shopping for surgeries (or in your case, being on heavy meds). Bonnie on the other hand keeps going back for more despite the fact that she almost died apparently, does not do well with weening off drugs, and spends a lot of time away from her family who needs her (everyone needs their mother). I had so many complications with my surgery due to the severity of my sickness- not only was it a bursted appendix and that I went septic- I found a lot of other issues involving my lungs, pulmonary embolism (just caused by increased risk from surgery- not immobility) and other things that I will spare you the details. I'm about 2 months past surgery and I feel as good as new because I HAD to get back to my life. Honestly, I couldn't wait until I could get out of bed and resume normal life.

Maybe that’s why it bothers me, she’s choosing to have it done. My surgery came out of nowhere and was very scary for everyone around me. I couldn’t wait to get out of that hospital bed, it killed me to be away from my children for even that long.

Bonnie is not in pain, Bonnie just likes getting high off the meds. Shame on her doctor for prescribing meds that you can get so addicted to so quickly. Shame on Joel for enabling her. Shame on her family for ignoring this problem. Sad for her children who have to watch this again.

I happy you survived a ruptured appendicitis with significant complications. You sound like you did work to get back to normal or life and I'm glad you are past a difficult time with an unexpected surgery.

I was thinking the same. 11 days after surgery, Bonnie won't let Joel help his own brother move, yet Joel's dad had to recover all on his own. Bonnie babies herself way too much, I don't know how she'd survive on her own. She just needs someone to do EVERYTHING for her.

There was absolutely zero reason for Joel to stay home (and sleep in).

He could've helped his brother. Why couldn't Ellie come be with Bonnie if she's in that dire of a situation? Olivia is a smart enough child that if something happened, she could contact Ellie or Joel.

She supposed to be feeling so much better. Her head is so clear.

This was Bonnie wanting Joel to stay home and Joel wanting to be lazy... In 2014 Joel would've assured Bonnie that she would be fine (worst case scenario, arranged for Ellie or Jennifer to help) and he would've moved his brother. Bonnie would've been self-sufficient enough to handle a few hours on her own.

They've both changed for the worse. Joel is even more unbearable than Jared because of how far he has fallen.

Also, the "You didn't wake up from the anesthesia for about 4 months" is so stupid. No, that fog had nothing to do with the surgery and everything to do with the medication management.

Perhaps Joel isn't allowing Bonnie to pop her own pills this time around? But, then again, he seemed to enjoy foggy Bonnie.

Didn’t Bonnie punch a whole into that cabinet after an argument with Joel pre remodel. If the arguments get that bad, do you think she has ever hit Joel?

I know others have said this, but I think Bonnie loves the drugs. Going from totally sober Molly Mormon to endless bottles of pills can create an addict. Lisa Ling did a documentary on Mormons addicted to drugs because they aren't allowed to drink.

I know they said that Joel controlled her intake last time, but I guarantee she was taking medication on her own as well. If he fed her that much medication then he's worse than an enabler - he's practically a dealer.

I was watching their Thanksgiving Part 1 vlog from 2014 where Bonnie snapped at Joel for moving the chair on his own and denting the wall. I understood why she was upset but it definitely shows their dynamic.

Their dynamic is incredibly dysfunctional. Bonnie is overtly aggressive whereas Joel is passive aggressive. Both are damaging.

Joel has also had instances where Bonnie has been afraid of his temper as well, like when she damaged the SUV going through a drive through. Joel isn’t as innocent as people like to think.

Anyone else notice that we haven’t seen Jennifer once this recovery? My mom has been a life saver to me after two knee surgeries and three c-sections. And, she lives 8 states away. Such a weird relationship.

I just can’t even imagine waking my husband up just to cry when he has plans the next day. That’s just rude. She was able to bend to do laundry, she can do life. She just doesn’t want to.

And, whoever called it about her not being able to stay sober with Boston and get him to the party, you’re right.

That said, her body did look smokin’ in some of those dresses. Totally worth it...

I agree Joel doesn’t come across to me as innocent at all, his niceness in the vlogs seems insincere and fake. The voice he uses with the kids on the vlog sounds fake as well. I can’t really explain it but he is not a good person. He rules that house and let’s Bonnie think she rules the house. Look how she does his laundry she said he likes his shirts dried just so and is picky about the collars. He also strictly controls her pills but she still seems high as a kite every vlog.
I fell terribly bad for all these YouTube kids. Their parents act one way in front of the camera and completely different off camera.

This! I used to find Joel incredibly sweet, hardworking, and a good role model. Now ? Yikes. Facade.

He has always made the decisions in that house but chooses which battles he feels are most important. Bonnie has given us glimpses of this.

I'm SO glad you mentioned the shirt thing... I wanted to discuss that. We talk about Bonnie's spending, but Joel has several $60 t-shirts. Who TF needs $60 t-shirts? She says that Joel has always been picky about his shirts but I don't remember him being specific about clothing before. The man that used to have an old beat up car and a flip phone no longer exists.

I do think he had more control when he was the sole provider, and the dynamic shifted slightly when Bonnie was bringing in money. Now they're both home 24/7 and that has to create serious tension. Joel controls far more than we know behind the scenes.

He could've created his own channel. He could've made the 'Manly Things' repair/how to videos, he could've had his own sponsors, he could've even taken on a few jobs to film... but he was too lazy to do it and now the audience isn't there. What happened to the laundromat? The car wash? He does NOTHING. I'd imagine he feels the need for control even stronger than Bonnie at this point.

I always wonder how his parents feel. They seem like lovely, hardworking people.

He’s hard working! He cuts grass and throws together videos with sloppy editing! Seriously I’ve never seen lazier vloggers. They put very minimal time into editing and even the content of their videos, do they really think they will continue making a living off of this garbage? Joel really should get out and start a business like he said he wanted to but he’s gotten lazy and would rather sleep in and do nothing. And I agree $60 for a t-shirt is ridiculous those are just plain t-shirts, am I missing something? Does he still have a flip phone or has he finally gotten a smartphone? (That was one thing I never understood about him)

Yes, she did. IIRC, the hole happened before they started vlogging.

Personally, I don't know whether I believe that she's hit Joel. I tend to think that Joel used to fight back just as hard as Bonnie did then, not so much now.

I know that she seems to have a temper; a temper which I believe is brought on when she feels lack of control.

Guess I responded too soon. It was nice to see Joel's family today. His parents seem very nice and relatable. I could have lived without all that kissing stuff though. Kind of turned my stomach a little bit.

Seriously though is this really a normal dosage for pain pills? I’ve been around others on them for various reasons. Is Joel giving her the actual prescribed amount or more on purpose? Like is there a range and she is always taking the maximum?

Like the tonsil video was alarming on its own. She doesn’t handle them well at all.
