Since my husband brings in $50k checks every 2 weeks I could drop $400 on a bag easily and I do do that sometimes BUT if I knew I needed that money for something more important/ it could go to better use I would NEVER drop that much money on a bag.

What really bothers me is Haleigh treats her financial status like it’s mine. (Can buy whatever I want whenever I want and don’t have to worry about the money going away.) IF YOU ARE ON FOOD STAMPS TAKING MONEY FROM TAX PAYERS CHOOSING NOT TO WORK AND MAKING BABIES YOU CANNOT AFFORD, your financial status is NOT the same as mine.

My point isn’t how much money I have but why I’m qualified to buy $400 dollar bags and $70 dollar swimsuits and why Haleigh’s not. I’m not trying to exaggerate anything, my main point wasn’t my amount of money, just the fact that I have the money to buy the things Haleigh buys.

Yeah it was pretty recent, 3 yrs ago he finished his residency. If I said med school, it kind of just runs together for me since I was probably referencing how he wasn’t bringing in a lot of money at the time since I was probably comparing our life back then to Haleigh and CJS current situation. He finished med school 6 yrs ago. We don’t have a lot of debt. But he was taught by his dad stock trades so he’s also pretty into that.

I just want to say that article is in fact wrong, I’ve looked into all those “average salary” articles for around my area, I have 0 evidence for why they just tend to be wrong but I think it’s because they take well, the average. Which is highest paid and lowest paid and they find a middle but they don’t use any other statistics (I think). For example, right now the baby boomer generation is in need of a lot of medical care and in the USA we have a shortage right now so we’re in pretty high demand of medical workers so that might influence a higher pay rate than what the average salary is saying. He makes no where near 1 million just doing his day time job, he’s been doing stock trades for a while now which was a family ordeal he picked up so he’s honestly pretty experienced at it, that’s what tends to bring in the bigger bucks.

In a more rural area I’m sure those numbers are more accurate but here in the Portland area cardiologists (which my husband is) don’t start out at anything lower than about $270,000. That’s part of why we chose to stay here after his residency, because the pay rate is decent.

I understand, I won’t share anything more about my personal life, maybe I should leave this forum if you guys feel like I’m a fake, you can tell me if you want me gone, I’ll just rant about Haleigh’s stupidity to myself lol. But I wasn’t trying to put on any kind of facade, I could totally prove I’m legit, I do like being part of this forum, maybe it’s just me being upset that Haleigh tends to make stupid choices and then thinks of herself as having such high status is pretty triggering for me, I really had to do a lot to get to where I am today and she doesn’t do much of anything, that’s one of the main things that annoys me about her so I tended to talk about it a lot. My perspective of what should be said in a gossip forum must have just been outrageously wrong.

(I would feel pretty uncomfortable feeling like there’s non-legit people here so I don’t want to do that to anybody else. This forum I agree should JUST be to vent about Haleigh’s stupidity!)

We were on food stamps once during the recession a few years ago. We had both been laid off.

Applying for food stamps is similar to applying for any other form of government assistance. You take in any pay stubs for the past 1-2 months. I think I varies between states. Or, if you're unemployed, you take in your unemployment application. Usually when you lose your job, you're given paperwork so you can apply for assistance.

You're then given 3-6 months of food stamps (EBT card). After that period of time, you have to reapply with the same process.

It's easy to mooch if you're making money under the table. But it's difficult to take advantage if you have a real job because businesses have to claim those taxes/money paid out to employees.

You also qualify if you make under a certain amount per year. And that also depends on the number of dependents. You get more money per dependent. So I think, as a family of 4 we got $600/month in food stamps.

Those numbers are easy to look up online. But I think for a family ofn4, if you make less than $2500/month, then you qualify. But again, that's money based off of w2s and pay stubs. Not money under the table.

I *think* they factor in assets owned, as well. But I cant remember. We applied years ago.

Again, we only needed it for about 2 months before we both found employment again.

I'd be willing to bet that cj offers adjustments at home and get paid under the table for it. I know a lot of chiropractic students do that. It's not legal. But that doesnt stop anyone from doing things they think is right.

Ya know, anyone who is a member of YTMD could be classified as mean or a bitch, my self included. But hey.. it's a safe place to vent and share opinions. Dumping my oppinions of disgust here works for me and its entertaining to read others opinions. We all have things about the topics that irritate us and are relatable. That's what creates discussion. Right? And I'll tell ya right now, $50k a year (before taxes) isnt much if you're blowing it all on handbags, clothing, and organic groceries. Factor in rent or a mortgage and all the expenses that come along with that. Not to mention insurances, etc. That money disappears quickly.

But, I guess they dont have to worry about dental appointments or anything. Haleigh said she hasn't seen a dentist in 5 years. Which means her kids probably wont ever step into an office. They'll do dental care the amish way...pull out infected teeth. Cheap and effective.

I wasn’t trying to impress anybody bahahahhah, I just tended to compare what I have to what Haleigh has pretty often, my intention was to bitch lol, but I’ll leave to avoid any further arguments about anything I’ve posted in here, because arguing with each other isn’t what this site is about.
