I don't know the story about his med school career. I don't believe he would have left by choice.

I agree about the house and he would have student loan debt from med school. But he had potential to make more money than Kevin. I never heard he was let go from his med school program, just that he did better with the business side and struggled "a little bit" with the med side.
They would be better off now living off Julie's nursing salary.

So was he in a dual MBA/MD program? I guess I thought he was in medical school, then left and went to the MBA program, and they didn't tell us any details about it. I assumed he did not leave by choice, and the MBA was a shorter program he could finish quickly.
And they absolutely would be better off living off Julie's salary as a nurse! I honestly have no idea how they are living at all right now... They can't have much YT income, and as far as we know, that's all they have.

Per Julie’s InstaStories, her and Landon are going to Belize to scuba dive!!
It must be nice to dabble in academia for a decade, have 4 young kids, no house of your own and go on vacation?!
Landon needs to grow up, get a job and stop dragging his family along on his wild dreams.
Going to Belize to scuba dive?! Unbelievable! Youtube must be paying more than we thought! This is going to burn Ellie's a$$ ! She wanted to go to someplace warm by the water, just her and Jared for their anniversary. Landon is lazy, he has a brother thats a firefighter, his dad has his own business and he is a wannabe doctor and never-ending student. What a disappointment! I think that house they are living in is a rental property that Landons father owns. They have 4 kids, Landon should use the degrees he has to teach H.S. or use them some other way to help support his family and pay off those student loans he's been racking up. He needs to grow already.

Her IG message doesn't say anything about this being a sponsored trip? Without assistance, health care insurance alone would eat up their YouTube income. E&J did a vlog about a stressful call to their insurance agent because it is pretty expensive being a small business owner and this is why Jullie has worked in the past. So why do they think they deserves a second honeymoon at this time in their life when their job security is uncertain. With student loans and wanting a nice home, my guess is both of them should be working or did someone leave Landon money and this is how he has paid for school? It is a mystery.

Yeah I was shocked when they said where they were going! I was thinking the same thing-YT must pay better then I thought! Now you saying that they are living in his father's rental property which I assume means they aren't paying anything-may explain how some of their expenses were covered. Landon needs to get a job with the degrees he has! They seem to have no money problems so he can chase whatever dream he wants I guess! Plus in the assumptions vlog, they stated that there might be another child.
What do we know about Landon's dad and real estate business? Also that his parents are paying for the trip?
I totally agree that their finances are baffling and they must be getting a lot of stuff for free. But I'm wondering what we know about his family to assume all this?

I could see that they could have a nice lifestyle on student loans. I had college friends years ago who went to graduate school for medical professions (PT and opthamology) and could get like $300,000 per year in student loans collectively. I just don't think Landon is in school right now which means he's got to start paying!
I do kind of wonder if the reason he's trying to stay in school to get a better paying career is to avoid all that debt. He might be able to get a decent job to pay the family's expenses, but he's got to have a LOT of student loans to pay off

In the Disappointing News/ Being Honest vlog from a few months back when he announced he did get into the PhD program, he said he offered to pay his own way and this idea was rejected by BYU. Who has the money to be self pay in a grad program, but I see from your message there are loans out there to cover this cost. It sounds risky unless you have a pretty sure job like a doctor when you've completed your education.
"They accepted one one PhD student this year they fund one student and so Landon offered to be self paid he's like okay well if the only issue is funding then I'll pay for myself and they still said no we only we only take funded students they wanted an external candidate and
they never told us that in that they didn't want someone from BYU who had already graduated from BYU."

Honestly I'm not sure how much in loans you can get for a PhD program, since I think most do cover tuition and pay a stipend for teaching. I wonder if having 4 kids could get him a decent loan. But he must have thought he could get enough to cover everything if he offered to pay. I forgot about that!
It almost sounds like they just didn't want HIM. First, funding was the issue, then "no we only want an outside candidate". That doesn't sound right. Lots of my family have advanced degrees, and I have never heard anything like that. It sounds like they were trying to let him down easy. But then again, people in my family who got rejected from programs got a hard "No". There was no "We accepted you but we can't fund you" BS

Absolutely. If it's such a small program that they can only take 1 new student per year, of course they are going to be super picky. They had a year to get to know and work with Landen, and for whatever reason they don't think he's a fit. Could be personality, academic record, etc.

So do you think reapplying next year at BYU, Landon will be looked at seriously or does he need to look at another program or university?
Landon's IG today is asking if any viewers are interested in him sharing his knowledge on health/wellness/diet ...it will be interesting to see if viewers are interested in adding his knowledge to their channel or if he starts his own channel?
I am all for helping people I really am. But, people need to help themselves too. After a while of just helping and helping people those people - Landon and Julie - become entitled. I think his parents, or who ever else is helping them, is not doing them a favor. I do not see Landon ever finishing school and getting a degree that he can use to make enough money for his family.

I really don't think he has a chance at BYU. It's pretty clear they didn't want to take him. He's finishing up a publication, but I doubt a lack of pubs would keep him out of the program if they really wanted him. I'm guessing he's just doing that for his application at other universities. I think they mentioned some other universities in their sit down video where they talked about all of this. Maybe Idaho was one can't remember.
Now starting a fitness /wellness channel is not the worst idea Landon has ever had. Much better than a PhD! I love channels where an expert talks about stuff (not saying Landon is really an expert, haha) . But it might pull in a diffeerent crowd and also help draw new viewers to the family channel. Still not very sure or steady income, but hey its worth a try if he is apparently not doing anything else right now..

Absolutely! There are two able - bodied adults in the family, both with degrees in fields where there are jobs. And they're sitting at home spending money on chickens and random stuff? I don't get it. I've always worked if not in school since I was 16...how can Landon and Julie be in their 30s and neither one of them think to even get a part time job. It's absurd, and likely entitled behavior.
