Or do they not have to front the money until later in the process? Sorry for all the questions, I just don’t get why they’re doing this all at once. Seems like they would cause unnecessary stress and hurt their home buying process. Unless they don’t have to pay for IVF right away and I’m just not understanding.

You are 100% not allowed to make big purchases. Our loan is all set to close, our closing date is next week. We were specifically told we cannot open any new credit cards (any new at all, even store) no large purchase or money transfers, no employment changes or car purchases etc. If anything like that happens our loan could no longer be clear and approved.
Either they took the money out from their account already for IVF, or they’re idiots and jeopardizing their loan. If mommy is paying for the house, and the mortgage is in her name, then paying for IVF wouldn’t matter. Anything that they have claimed to have in their accounts needs to stay there as the loan is verified (within means of course, they understand day to day purchases). And if it’s already verified, which god help them if it’s not and they’re supposed to be moving 8/30, then they 100% can’t touch it until after closing.
