I started talking like her the other day and the kids and hubby were looking at me weird. I told them I was imitating Ashley and she's from Oklahoma. They couldn't BELIEVE that someone could mispronounce words so severely! I'll probably play one of her videos for them sometime. I've also been searching Oklahoma dialects online and have heard other people from Oklahoma talk. They all talk normal! What the heck is Ashley's story? Why does she talk the way she does?

She is so transparent. She wasted her time and ours on that boring video. She should do what Meg and Justin have done, hire a home school teacher, make one room dedicated to home school, and then you are free to be selfish while she is "in school", you won''t get the backlash and your child actual receives an education. Funny how Meg did a day in the life of home school style video three weeks ago, and now Ashley did one but, was an epic fail.

Maybe she needed speech therapy when she was younger but never got it.

Maybe her mommy was too busy giving her "life lessons" too on how to do your acrylic nails instead! ;) Who NEEDS speech therapy? Just like Ashley now with her daughter, who NEEDS an actual education? lol And the circle keeps going 'round...

Of course she had to go on social media because the teacher from Canada (the lovely poster who also came on here) called her out on the lack of accountability. Which probably sent her right over here, as predicted.

If having a hard time on a workbook leads to a drama-filled moment about how 'life is hard', no wonder why the girl is anxious and has to walk an acre because she just got drug into her mother's inability to cope. Let me guess, Ashley probably snapped at Savy because Savy needed help but Mama was having major YT stress, leading Savy to cry.
Ashley's life isn't hard or stressful and has no taxing elements besides chasing her 'haters', but now she's transferring that anxiety to her child. A quick " Take a deep breath and start again" (like a teacher would) comment to her daughter would have taught her to find strength in herself to continue and build her own character instead of crying about simple daily issues. She needs to stand up to stress sometimes and learn to plow through it instead of running off and crying about it like mommy does. The comment stressed Ashley out and this all stems from there.

So, if there are no government laws for OK then how do the homeschooled kids get in to OSU?

The Cherokee people paid for this but did they supply the program in OKLAHOMA?
Also, with the amount of money that this bitch makes, Why is she abusing my people’s kindness and having them provide a service that she can afford on her own!!!

I want to say she doesn’t even know what the regulations are. I don’t even know how she could get away with that tbh. But how are there actually no regulations? That makes no sense.

And yes Ashley’s “life lessons” are teaching Savannah to run away from her problems and quit when things get too hard. I referenced this earlier, she will be at work and be fired because she left for having a hard day. 🙄

QueenMaleficent wrote: Fri Sep 06, 2019 11:43 am Ok, here we go:

The armchair is back in the dining room along with the mirror.
Everything so far is "WE" not "Savannah", she is including herself as I predicted.

First Part, Morning Work: While she does dishes, Savannah does her work. Then she assists her but they only do one page of a vocabulary word a day. Spelling, she has to write them, cover it up and write again, which she says is an amazing system for learning and says that's how simple spelling is for "us". Not savannah, but her too.
She has Savannah tracing letters like you do in preschool. All of this takes 20-30 minutes and is 'super fast'. They start slow so no one has a bad day, then she can go finish chores for a break.
Grade: This work looks so easy for a girl of her age and if they are blowing through it and she has lessons which have pages to color after, this curriculum is way below where she should be. Schools don't start slow. Mommies who can't handle life start slow and she's dragging her kid down.

Second part, Beauty Room: Video sessions from Bob Jones University which she bought to help her our through the day so she doesn't have to do all of the teaching. English: her words "It's a bunch of worksheets" and she doesn't do it with her nor grade it but if she does, she grades it as she goes. She said it is outdated. It's 'super nice' since she said she paid for these lessons that she can leave and go do her laundry and make her bed (more like lay in it) for the next 8-15 minutes that the lesson lasts.
After she is done she needs to leave the room because Ashley has YT work to be done, she puts in earplugs so she can multitask (block out her kid) since mornings are 'super busy around here'
Grade: 15 minutes of English and a workbook page? Sounds 'super busy"

Third Part, Science: She let's Savannah choose and doesn't make it too structured, she's 'just like okay, do what you want and if she's not in the mood, we put it off'. She spends most of the time telling you about how terrific other homeschool moms are online so go check it out. Apparently for science they plant a veggie garden each year. Does anyone EVER remember her showing this before or even mentioning it? It's 8 minutes so she sees it as she bought that time so she can get stuff done that a mom needs to do and without kids, you can get a ton done. Girl, you have one kid. No one in the family is a reader, big surprise. Chase set up tabs on the computer for test answers for Ashley to bring up so she doesn't have to look for them. It tells her, in order, what to help with in case she was doing laundry and not paying attention.
Grade: 8 minutes of free time for Ashley to do laundry and Chase made it even easier for her to not pay attention to Savy's lessons

Part Four: History: She brings up again that she 'pays for the lessons' because it buys her free time. She also reiterated that she buys it because she is trying to help herself working a full time youtube job, dance class and so much going on. Lessons are 25 minutes and a worksheet, done on her own, then reads 4 pages of changes in the South. Ashley puts sticky note showing her where to start.
Grade: savannah does this all on her own but probably couldn't without that sticky note showing her where to look to start.

Basically, she is 'buying time' for herself through the online lessons because she's so busy. Her stress level must be so high, having to click a tab to look up an answer. The lessons take up a HUGE chunk of the day according to her, but they don't. There isn't much hands on for her at all and what she has to do, Chase made it even easier for her.
She takes a ton of credit for the work and is obsessed with her own time since she, her words, 'bought it'. I feel sad for Savy and Ashley made sure she let everyone know that a lot of it is about her.
Almost more than any of this was the content of the science lesson where one of the questions was "What things do Christians do to help protect the earth that God made." or very similar words to that. I'm guessing these books do not mention evolution or other facts. Yikes! Not surprised but didn't want to assume because they were in the south that it would be like this.

According to Oklahoma's State Dept of Education, there are no regulations pertaining to home schools. They allow the parent to be the one to administer test and the parent doesn't have to send in anything to the state. I find that this is stupid because how is the state to determine that a child who is being home schooled is even being taught and how can a child move up in a grade if there is no real testing to see where that child is at?
I think all kids who are home schooled should have to take a test at the school board (just like leap test in schools) to see what level that child is testing at and to know that the child is actually learning. and OK allows for the child to receive a parent certificate at the end of the 12th grade. OK is one dumb state.

They do have some things a parent must follow, that Ashley is definitely not following;

" Home school setting should maintain compulsory school attendance as well. This would be the equivalent of 180 days per each calendar year and six clock hours or 360 minutes per day, as appropriate for child’s age. It does seem clear that a point of the Attorney General’s opinion is that homeschooling must not be used as a maneuver to bypass truancy". and, "There is no required state approved curriculum, but a well-defined curriculum or design for learning should be implemented. Required school subjects under Oklahoma law include: reading, writing, math, science, citizenship, US constitution, health, safety, physical education, and conservation".

My nephew was home schooled and his mom used the Christian workbook sets and it was nothing like what kids in actual school was learning.

Ashley should NEVER make another home school video again. Poor Savy

In her IG story yesterday, the one where she felt she needed to explain about home school and why they do it, someone thanked her for posting it because she needed to hear it, Ashley's response was that it wasn't her, it was Jesus and that she is only his tool. She says that about EVERYTHING. She really needs to read the real bible and not that garbage that her new age pastor is spewing. She uses God as an excuse for her horrible behavior.

I grew up on a combination of the curriculum that Meg and Ashley are using. I was in a large private school for both though. I also graduated from Bob Jones University from which some of that curriculum is made. The curriculums include evolution as a theory and creationism as fact because the curriculums are Bible based. I still believe in creationism but would have appreciated both being presented as theories I could choose from. All curriculums I've seen in my elementary education studies as an adult sway one way or the other. That being said, Ashley is truly choosing the laziest route in homeschooling, not to mention life in general. She isn't teaching anything positive. I'm not going to watch that video because this woman disgusts me.

She isn't Jesus's tool. She is just a TOOL! She is "God" in her own tiny mind and house. She uses God to excuse her narcissistic behaviors. Sorry for the double post, but this woman seriously irks me.

That was the most blah Fall home tour. What really made me giggle was their wedding picture in an autograph frame above her beauty room toilet. The gold clock is back (or is this old) on the kitchen counter again. My only positive is that I thought Ashley looked really nice.

Her 2019 Fall Home Tour should be canceled for fraud.. lol It did not feel like fall in that house, it felt like a sterile hospital. It screams Stepford Wife. and poor Chase, Ashley loves having her own space and that's why she can't share the master bathroom with him, I'm surprised she shares the master bedroom/bed with him. Seems like Ashley has a problem with sharing, even with her own husband, and I think one of the biggest narcissists.

I don't get all of these Fall Home Tours, if you've seen one, you have seen them all. No one is original, all the same decorations decorated the same way. Even the homes are starting to blur together,

I’m going to laugh my ass off when color becomes really popular again. Some of us in the “real world” use some amount of color already in our homes. I read somewhere about these type of homes looking like black & white pictures and I can’t shake that thought.

Good to know the home tour is not worth watching. I think I knew that it wasn’t anyway. When I clicked my subscriptions this morning I saw a number of fall tours, Halloween at megs house which I thought looked pretty cool. And then there is Ashley’s thumbnail. Gray. Boring. I wouldn’t even know it’s a fall theme without reading the GRAY title. I have never liked home tour videos anyway. Great you put up some decor and in Ashley's case, rearranged all her gray crap. Really don’t care to watch. I’m decorated for fall and it’s my favorite time of year. I bring out all the oranges and reds, like the trees outside!!

Well here I am contradicting myself haha. I usually go to her comments to see what people are saying and someone referenced a fish! So I had to fast forward to Savannah’s room and she now has a fish! The rainbow rose is still there, but moved on top of her dresser. Probably so Ashley can’t see all the color from the doorway. I wonder how long the fish will last with her theme. 🙄 She claims Savannah organized her own closet, my ass. I’m super organized. I always have been. My mom is very organized yet functional. Growing up, our home always had character and color. My parents home is beautiful. My room never looked like Savannah’s. I had kid themes and tons of color and truthfully it wasn’t always organized. I was allowed to be a kid. Ashley keeps trying to pretend Savannah wants all this when in reality it’s been forced on her. Back to the video, we see the playroom, apparently it is still Savannah’s space but “we hang out here too”. She gives us a load of crap about how Savannah loves the new curtains at the closet and it so nicely covers all the American girl doll mess. Yeah ok Ashley, you couldn’t stand looking at all that color so you just had to cover it up. I thought the little closet space for the dolls was so cute. I’m SURE Savannah loves fighting with the curtains to play. Please. It just doesn’t make sense to me that Ashley feels the need to take over another room. They have a spacious living room with plenty of couch space and a big tv. Yet she has to take over Savannah’s play room because heaven forbid she has a space in the home that she can’t use.

Everyone certainly is entitled to their own taste and style. If she wants to live in a grey world well fine. But the fact that her daughter gets no say in anything annoys me. She is not allowed to be a kid. Nevermind the fact that she is receiving sub par education. 🙄

I showed my husband her “fall house tour” and he asked me how come she hasn’t painted the grass grey, or spontaneously combusted yet at the sight of that rose in Savannah’s room.
