I just watched the video and I hope Lucy was kidding when she said since the symptoms were similar to Kacen (low blood sugar, low iron) that might mean she's having a blonde-haired, blue-eyed baby. Because that's totally legit.

Oh me too! I was wondering why the midwife would even allow her children to hover over their patient. There should still be some professionalism.

If she did hemorrhage after the birth that would be another reason why she should give birth in a hospital.

I was searching for YT comments that discussed the SCH or hemorrhage Lucy later claimed she had during her pregnancy with Kacen (no luck finding it thus far), and found this comment instead

We have tons of nurses in both our families and I'd like to HOPE they have good bed side manner... lol Never had them as my personal nurse though. Joel and I were both nurses when we younger. Again not ALL, but MOST... lol Its like they forget why they got into the field to begin with.

Really y'all think Jacelyn is behind? I think she seems ahead. She is reading before age 5 and seems like a smart girl. Kacen seems normal to me also aside from his speech which seems like has improved a ton. I am no expert but her kids seem fine to me.

IMO, having a speech problem does NOT equate to being behind developmentally or slow in intelligence. I don't think Lucy's kids are behind developmentally, aside from speech, nor do I think they are unintelligent for their age. I think they are about average or on the higher end of the large average scale.

However, I do not think that they will remain at that higher level of intelligence forever, especially if they are homeschooled outside a co-op. Lucy and Joel do not have sufficient intelligence and skills to educate their kids past elementary school, MAYBE middle school, level WITHOUT additional outside help.

I think Jacelyn is just a little ahead for her age. Most any child can do what she ia doing when worked with one on one. Yes, her speech does seem to be behind for an almost 5 year old. I think Kacen is a little behind in intelligence, but that's how he comes off to me. He seems emotionally and intellectually behind for his age. Maybe from lack of attention? Idk

I try to be respectful even to those type of people because I feel like it's more the Christian thing to do BUT I couldn't help myself this time with that one.

Since when is Lucy usually respectful of those who question her motives and actions or think differently from her lifestyle choices and parenting values? Or does she count deleting comments and blocking people or letting her minions to attack others to be the respectful route?

I agree with F.H. (No, I'm not F.H.) Why can't she be happy with three kids? I am sorry that I am one of those people who can't comprehend why someone wants to have 4+ biological children. If you can afford to raise half a dozen or so kids, why not adopt or foster orphans? I would if we could afford it and had room for them. Our country, society and employment environment/conditions no longer necessitate having a brood of kids to help in the field or work in the factory. So I would appreciate valid points that do NOT boil down to "because we love kids and can afford it." Again, my response is "then adopt!" There are more than enough orphans and at-risk kids who need guardians/parents, role models, support, care and love.

I find that to be such a horrible comment... Who are you to tell a woman/family that they should adopt just because there are orphans, etc in the world? It is every woman's right to have her own biological children and the fact there are babies being dumped by mothers that don't want them, etc is not every childbearing woman's responsibility to home them!!! If a woman wants her own biological children how dare anyone attack that choice?! Congratulations that you would if you could- not every one DOES want to adopt a child that is not theirs, I personally would only ever want to birth my own (if I was physically unable to become pregnant/carry my own child, THEN I would definitely consider adoption however). Deciding to have children is not just deciding to pick out a random child, it is a whole journey from trying to conception to going through all the wonders of pregnancy to then birthing that baby and every woman deserves that right.

My parents wanted to adopt a baby because they gave me and my brother everything&wanted to share that but my mom said she could never be honest with the child about who his or her biological parents were so my dad said they wouldn't do it. So then they were going to adopt from foster care but we didn't have the money or the situation to adopt. I also agree it's not our place to tell someone to adopt rather than have their own child. I don't like Lucy, but she wants her own biological children. It's not selfish. She's able to have kids, so she has kids. I'd like to adopt one day, but I had to watch a family friend go through the heartbreak of adoption (20 years and numerous mothers that changed their minds or picked another couple and then she was going to adopt internationally and that fell though) until she finally got her little girl about 6 or 7 years ago. I don't think people realize how had adoption really is....

Even the adoption situations that turn out "good" can still be a struggle! I've watched myadoptionoption's videos and it's sad all the self-doubting and guilt (from taking baby away from birth mother) that goes along with it.

we shouldn't even be talking about this because we all know that they wouldn't qualify for adoption. With Joel's public records, their weirdo income situation, Lucy's obvious mental issues, etc

I didn't say Lucy should adopt instead of having more babies. I was explaining my reasons for not understanding why someone in this country and era would have so many biological kids. I guess having a few adopted relatives (adopted decades ago with relative ease) in my extended family has effected my views on the issue. I'm sorry I struck a nerve. I didn't mean to offend.

I appreciate the many explanations on how today's adoption and foster care procedures and complications would change someone's mind about adopting or fostering. Thank you.

I can easily imagine Lucy doing this, like the blogger who was featured breastfeeding her 3-year-old son on the cover of Time Magazine several months ago. She breastfed her adoptive son for a while. Lucy can easily maintain a supply, but would probably love the challenge of relactation. I can see Lucy contacting magazines hoping to be interviewed or get on their cover.. and then humbly bragging about it. Lol
