About her taking testosterone.. Im still not convinced she ever had PCOS. And seems as though they may be TTC..
Safety. Or lack thereof. Again Ellie announces to potentially hundreds of thousands of strangers on youtube that she wants Jackson to be more independent and walk to his friends house. Neighbour or not, why would you want your poor son to be a potential target? I thought they knew their home is easily found? I dont understand. I just cant!
E & J - So many problems, so few vitamins |Part #125
Re: E & J - So many problems, so few vitamins |Part #125
I don’t think she has PCOS either. Usually women with PCOS have high levels of testosterone and other androgens and that is a big part of what causes trouble with fertility. So if you had PCOS I’m pretty sure that taking testosterone is the one thing you wouldn’t want to be doing?? It seems like she does too much reading on webmd about all of her “symptoms” and comes up with all these self-diagnoses and treatments. I just wonder who is going along with and prescribing all these things?? Is she seeing a legitimate medical doctor or only someone who specializes is natural products (not knocking natural products at all as my mom works in that industry and we use a lot of natural stuff for certain things) - or a therapist that goes along with all of these things she seems to come up with or what? It’s just such a random mess of all these different ailments and stuff that she has that none of it makes sense. Clearly she isn’t doing anything legitimate to help with her anxiety and emotional/mental health issues which should be her primary concern at this point.

Have we ever heard Ellie talk about low testosterone before? She's definitely talked about Iron, thyroid, progesterone, but I don't reemember hearing anything about testosterone. But recently Katie has been talking testosterone and it helps with her anxiety, so maybe if you're Ellie you equate testosterone to anxiety treatment?

It's been speculated and discussed for ages here, how Ellie's doctor from pre-Jackson mentioned that Ellie MAY have PCOS. And I think the general consensus was Ellie went along with "may have PCOS" and has built her channel thinking she struggles with infertility, continuing to tell new doctors she sees that she has PCOS and they go with it. My own opinion is that Ellie really didnt know her body or how the reproductive system works, with ovulation, periods, general nutrition, and other things she may have missed when TTC. AND at the same time, I believe Jared knew they couldnt afford a child at the time, and purposefully was telling Ellie she wasnt ovulating when she was. Thats a huge stretch. I get it. I have had a handful of patients (midwife in au) like Ellie who didnt know their bodies.. Just basic things. Ive also seen controlling partners/husbands/SO/bfs taking advantage of that OR couples admitting things like this.Mk1 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 26, 2019 9:34 pm I don’t think she has PCOS either. Ellie can do no wrong , so even if she's had doctors tell her in the past few years she doesnt have PCOS she will never admit she may have been wrong all these years. Nothing (ok maybe a tiny percentage) she does, says, or takes, ever adds up to her having PCOS. Thats just my theory, it's a massive stretch, I have never seen her medical history, never met her, but just based off vlogs from before Jackson, nothing makes sense to me. ESPECIALLY Mothersdaygate

She even thought just having HCG in her blood meant she was pregnant. When the nurse was trying to explain that her levels weren't what they would want to see in early pregnancy, she kept saying "but it's _there_, right?"
I still think the nurses draw straws over who has to deal with her.

It’s like she looked up what causes infertility, saw that PCOS was the leading cause, and just went with it. I agree that it was more likely that she didn’t understand how her body works, and not an actual medical problem that caused her “infertility” before Jackson.amyfalafalagain wrote:It's been speculated and discussed for ages here, how Ellie's doctor from pre-Jackson mentioned that Ellie MAY have PCOS. So much is seen in this.. Doctor doesnt diagnose her with PCOS. Ellie already read up on it prior to the appointment, tells the doctor she has heard about PCOS. While the doctor educates Ellie about follicles, Ellie is clearly not listening (her body language, and "mhmm, ok uh huh"), Jared talks over Ellie about ovulation, doctor tells Ellie she's okay, she's young, she has a lot of eggs, Ellie is SO EXCITED for IUI, Ellie just desperate to have a baby that she ultimately neglects...Shorty02 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 27, 2019 5:11 amIt’s like she looked up what causes infertility, saw that PCOS was the leading cause, and just went with it. I stand corrected! Thank you for sharing this, because even though sometimes doctors do misdiagnose PCOS, it does seem like this doctor knew what she was talking about and actually saw the string of pearls on her ultrasound.amyfalafalagain wrote:So much is seen in this.. Personal: My husband and I have been TTC for over a year now with the help of my gynecologist, and due to a blocked tube (I only have 1 left due to a surgery I had last year) we now have to move on to IVF with a fertility specialist. Today is our first appointment with the specialist and I’m super nervous, so it was interesting to watch this and see what they do.

I think with the new way YouTube is displaying statistics they will only show up in chunks of 10,000 subscribers. They went from 1.64 to 1.63 yesterday (but the last time their full number showed they were at 1,640,141)sheltiefan wrote:Wow, they were down 10k subscribers yesterday!

I'm so happy they are down to 3 videos a week so we can all watch them try out the impossible burger. Riveting stuff, I can't believe that we have been missing this all this time.

The doctor knew what she was talking about but the many appointments after this one weren’t follow up tests for diagnosis. String of pearls is one marker of PCOS, that needs to have follow up ultrasounds, hormonal tests, etc. Ellie and Jared ultimately conceived on their own with Jackson with the help of femara. Because of their appointment and ultrasounds they knew exactly when Ellie was ovulating and they did the deed at the right time and it happened. So many other factors from experience, like her poor nutrition, can contribute to not being able to ovulate. They were such children in that vlog, Ellie only had baby on the mind. She must have felt like a failiure not to produce a baby straight after marrying Jared, to keep up appearances with her low weight, being the perfect wife, all these little stresses we know Ellie stressed about still would have messed with her body.Shorty02 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 27, 2019 5:47 amI stand corrected! I'm stunned at how little she still knows about her body. When she and Jared were first married, she wasn't as skeletal as she was say, after Calvin. But I am firmly in the camp that her "infertility" was largely lack of knowledge about when the best times to conceive were. She may have been irregular in her cycles too. But if they were truly living on potatoes, poor nutrition would have probably also played a role. She just gets hooked on an idea and she's like a dog with a bone. And if she really has PCOS, testosterone is the last thing she should be taking.

She really should try eating a balanced meal, exercising and sleeping on a regular schedule. Most of her maladies would likely be resolved. Did she take fertility drugs for all 3 pregnancies? How many miscarriages?

The number of miscarriages she has had varies when she tells the story. The Mother's Day baby "miscarriage" is generally considered by us "haters" to be not real. That was the one where she was convinced that because she had HCG in her blood, that it meant she was definitely pregnant. The poor nurse was trying so hard to explain it to her. I only know of one for sure, that she had to have a D&C for.

I tried to rewatch the Mother’s Day pregnancy video just a few weeks ago and I was nearly begging my brain to be able to see a line on the pregnancy test because I still don’t want to believe they were stupid enough to announce when they weren’t totally sure. I think they (or at least Ellie) genuinely thought they were pregnant, and maybe she even had some phantom symptoms because of her mental health then, but it was irresponsible to announce then. If she was actually pregnant, I think it was a very very VERY early chemical, the kind where most women don’t even know they’re pregnant because their period just comes as usual. She just happened to be testing like a mad man and caught what she thought was the faintest of all faintest lines in the history of the universe. I’m pretty sure the nurse on the phone said her hcG was 4, which is considered not pregnant.lmmomSD wrote:She only took fertility drugs with Jackson. I get wanting to give her the benefit of the doubt, but I’m pretty sure it was a brand deal with Clear Blue. In her old videos she clearly stated she’d never use Clear Blue tests because of their tendency to give false positives. Around the time leading up to the Mother’s Day pregnancy, she was promoting Clear Blue ovulation tests like crazy. Then tested with a Clear Blue test. Her tests after the “miscarriage” were back to her usual tests.opangatay wrote:I tried to rewatch the Mother’s Day pregnancy video just a few weeks ago and I was nearly begging my brain to be able to see a line on the pregnancy test because I still don’t want to believe they were stupid enough to announce when they weren’t totally sure. So yeah, it was a scam. They also shouldn’t have called their infertility community friends to let them know on Mother’s Day either, but that’s where they are just ignorant and rude af.
