I think it was a photo book to send with him, so I presume she skipped adding a photo of him for him. Of course, he seems very into himself, so maybe he would have liked a book full of himself.

UGH at Megan's ig story about ivy league schools recruiting homeschooled kids. Newsflash: homeschool isn't unschooling. They have, ya know, real lesson plans and even real teachers to teach them online. They take regular subjects that meet the same criteria as regular schools.

I really feel like a lot of the kids would do great in a structured environment, especially poor Daniel. The school system in China is super disciplined and structured. It still much be a shock for him coming into an unstructured environment so late in development...

Right? Not one of those kids would flourish in a strict educational environment. I am sure there are some schools they could get through with help, but an ivy? No way. They don't know enough of the basics to make it past the required courses before flunking out.

But agree 100% that she is playing up the drama. I didn't act that dramatic when my son went to the Army. And he was possibly going to get shot at. The difference? I didn't want to make it worse for HIM.

I guess it’s relative, I lived abroad away from family for several years and once a week is incredibly frequent compared to how much we were able to communicate (I was living in Kenya) (NOT as a missionary lol).

If Megan had her way though I’m sure Elijah would be hooked up to a live feed 24/7 lol.

Definitely it's all relative. Personal: My ex was in the Navy, and I got used to emailing every day. The email went down and I was freaking out. My mom laughed because she only got letters occasionally from my dad, because he could only post when they were in port.

I am sure his placement of "calling" had nothing to do with the fact that they had on his paperwork that he was "studying" the Japanese language and did an abroad program in Japan. And what was all the whining about how much the ferris wheel cost, and about the hot dogs? Megan kept going on about how awful the food was at Nathan's and how it was going to be one of those "bad experiences that turned into family lore", but she was the only one complaining, and the food looked like it got scarfed down by the kids. She ordered a chili cheese dog with kraut (she was the only one who mattered "I got a chili cheese dog with kraut, so that's mine" who cares about what anyone else got?). Sounds pretty gross to me, so no wonder she thought it was nasty.

Yes, I said exactly that to my kids about her looking after her saying that about her own hot dog first.
When I used to go to McDonalds or something with my kids, I always sorted their meals first before even thinking about my own. I had a routine lol - spread out napkins do they didn’t put their food directly in the table, hand out the fries, then the burgers or nuggets, open the ketchup, put the straw in the drink etc and then think about my own.
Her kids are older but Eve and Jude still need help.
If she and Mike handed out everyone’s food together, then Mike might get to enjoy his food better. He does all the work while she sits and eats.

Yes if I remember correctly, Esther also had rather significant back issues. It’s easy to think she looks fine when you compare her with Pearl but she doesn’t seem to walk totally normal either. These girls are going to end up with a lifetime of pain because their parents don’t give a shit about their health. Rubbing some oils on it isn’t going to straighten a spine Megan! She’ll probably be content with Jude being in diapers for the rest of his life too (maybe this is a fixable issue he has or maybe it’s not...either way I don’t see Megan being one to try anything to help when she can just slap him in a diaper and carry on).
