Re: Living On A Dime
Lol. Ive seen people leave comments on how to say measure and wash and they are immediately deleted. I honestly don't have a problem with people pronouncing words differently because they are from somewhere else. The only word I can think of now is advertisment. She must not get out much because she still has that strong accent which people in Colorado don't have.
I do have a problem with her insistence people are going to burn in hell because they didn't go to the "right " church.
This is beyond the gay issue. Most people have evolved and accepted that gay people arent going anywhere and are totally normal. I dont know what church she goes to but it seems like she is condemning Catholics, Mormons, Lutherans, Baptists, Pentecostals, etc. to hell. Not to mention the countless other non-Jesus based groups. It's super alienating and a large percentage of her audience (like every person that doesn't go to the same church) would stop watching if she REALLY said what she thinks. She chooses her words when she knows its a controversial topic like the video on the dumb social security benefit scam she is running. You do have a job--you are an internet personality selling cookbooks. Does she really think that none of the influencers selling books on the internet claim no income? Keep that comment section closed so your lies are not made so obvious dumby. Rip off the government and keep receiving income and free health care. We see you. I hope this board stays active and pisses her off enough to run her mouth. She always slips and says ignorant b.s. then

Thats why I think they put everything in Mikes name. Shes been working all along. And why do all these business websites list their income in millions?Iwasneverhere_0 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 19, 2019 6:28 am Lol. I mean if thats what they make, fine, great! But quit taking superchats from ppl on a fixed income or disability.
I dont get how people believed all of this from the get go...
I mean where do you ever see 3 ppl in a family get sick with CFS and Fibro at the same general time?
NO WHERE!
Then the missing father, they wont say how they were expelled from Church, all the missing pieces in the story.
I wanna know what Tawra would do with REAL problems. She acts like shes had such a hard life... What if she was raped as a child, or her Dad was shot in a DriveBy? What if her mom was an alcoholic and beat her? Or she was born black, or was a child being brought over the border to get a better life only to be captured and mistreated in a ICE unit?
I wonder if these ppl shit hard pellets with no fiber?
I really wanna know how Tawra will write a cookbook about Freezer meals when shes said previously she doesnt do them.
Is this another #CANNINGGATE? I was shocked when Tawra said "I practically eat KETO right now"... Tawra you dumb dumb, bread and rice arent on the Keto diet, educate yourself! https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/ke ... #section17
The one thing in this that really still bothers me is how callously Tawra dealt with their cats death. Her cat died horrifically and 2 days later shes not shedding a tear. Why have pets if you only view them as just THINGS??? Im always cuddling my dogs, including them in everything. Talking to them etc. Do you ever see anyone in that house talking to that dog they have? NO. Sad. Did you even know they had a cat? Ill bet they arent on heartworm preventative.
Lastly, Tawra needs to know poor ppl arent uneducated or stupid. They want healthy food and opportunities. They know whole grains and organics are better choices and they can spot cons. And they want to give their kids opportunities and they want their kids to be better than them.

Re: Living On A Dime
I used to be a huge Martha Stewart fan, but since I found FlyLady I kinda fell away from Martha. Although I like her collab with Snoop Dogg now, I always forget when its on...
Anyway, I have spent the past week doing the final organization of my attic. I successfully reduced 10 plastic boxes of asst junk and memories to 1-1/2 tubs. And I have sorted thru 5 tubs of papers, magazine clippings etc.
One magazine clipping I saved over the decades was from Martha Stewarts magazine from 1997... The date of 1997 is significant.
She also did this in person on her Martha Stewart Living show which aired a decade before Living On A Dime was even on YouTube.
FRONT
BACK (enlarge to read the date in the torn edge)
In this post, OnBreak said she found a Kansas book that had the same ideas as Tawras book
viewtopic.php?p=1394437#p1394437
I wonder if Jill just ripped off Marthas fitted sheet technique for her YouTube channel?

I dont think my last comment posted, so isn't that their whole thing? "We tell you obvious information...."
Mind blowing tidbits like buying used is cheaper and eating cereal for dinner is cheaper than eating out.
My last comment also mentioned they skipped a show...I hope we got under their skin. They'll likely say technical issues since their past few shows have had issues but its never stopped them before. And the quality has always been questionable.

I might be a bit of a snob, but I am a snob with a huge heart, and I just have a huge issue with dishonesty and lies and especially people who take advantage of others. And I hate homophobes. Oh and I hate when parents hold their kids back from life and dont help them accel in life..
And about that "We tell you obvious information...." bit.
Tawra engages in splitting, she cannot see any grey areas in anything, its black or its white for her 100%...
"Two Shades Of Tawra"
So when Tawra says, "Organics Suck" she means organics suck...
She will never say, "Organics are best, but right now, while you are hurting for cash, you need to stick to the conventional produce or meats"
She cant see grey.

Re: Living On A Dime
OMG! I'm so excited people are posting again! I needed some time away from Tawra; she was irking me. And, I'm not going to lie, I was jealous of their spectacular trip. I can only dream of seven weeks in Europe and would soak up every moment of it!!
Hi, everyone!
This 20th anniversary video is wack. Wasn't last year when the 20th anniversary edition was released, so shouldn't this be the 21st anniversary celebration?? Or, have I just been listening to her complain about the editing of this book for so long?
400 newspaper articles written about her? Where are these? Challenge accepted!

Re: Living On A Dime
She wrote a lot of articles for the St. Charles County Journal in MO, Madison County Journal in IL, and Granite City Press-Record in IL between the years 2013 to 2016. Many are the same article published in different papers. Might be owned by the same company, which would explain cross posting.
There are interview articles featuring her from 2006 through 2013 from a lot of small publications and papers.
Used my local library's newspaper database. 469 results. Quick search. Boom! Information is power.

Re: Living On A Dime
Yes, saying "do it on a dime" or "living on a dime" or any derivative is not original.
I would only say someone would be copying THEM if they put sickly, out of shape people taking about nutrition stating the obvious for hours on end on YouTube.
Oh wait, that is abundant on YouTube and also not original.
Tara stated that writing the book was 1% of the work and marketing is 99% of the work in the last show. So, you just stated in a public platform how hard you have worked for 20 years on this book. Keep those SSI checks coming cheater.

The folding a fitted sheet--saw it on Oprah long ago with Martha Stewart. As far as organics, I'm not a fan of them either. Mostly because they still use pesticides, but just naturally derived ones. It also doesn't fit my budget. I also eat out and don't concern myself with a restaurant sources. Also, commercial farming has increased production feeding millions of people so there are less people going hungry.
I'm not anti-organic either. If you can afford them then go for it. Grow your own if it concerns you. It is a grey issue and most people are nuanced and sophisticated enough to get that.

But Tawra has zero grey area. Who wants to consume antibiotic and hormone laden meats? Only Tawra.
OF COURSE, if you cant afford them then eat regular meat. If you read their chatters comments they dont
agree with Tawra. So why does she insist on falling on her sword on this?

I'm not sure when they moved.
I was pregnant in 2003 and my doctor told me to sign up for WIC because my iron was low ..yadda yadda yadda.. I received a free cookbook my first visit on how to cook with beans. Wonder if she was given something like this and ran with it?

Re: Living On A Dime
Im watching some home show right now, and the ppl are complaining about the house being carpeted.
I recall Tawra looking at that gorgeous home with gorgeous wall to wall hardwood floors and hearing her
say that shed get carpet installed in the whole house cause she hated hardwoods. (!!!!!????)
Ill never go back to carpet. So much cleaner! People dont get how filthy carpeting is until you have hardwood or tile.
You dont see the filth. You track dirt into the house and it gets into the fibers of the carpet and you cant see it.
When you then rip the carpet out and see your dirty foot tracks on the hardwood floors on the regular you then realize how
gross the carpet must have been. I grew up with carpet and I thought hardwoods would be colder, but its the opposite. Its warmer now,
because the carpet isnt clogging up the intake (bottom) of the radiators.
This is whats under carpet, all the dirt youve tracked in over the life of your home.
This post isnt really about Tawra, I just wanted to talk about carpet.

Re: Living On A Dime
Watching their show tonight. I noticed Mike is using an Apple computer laptop tonight. Gone is the old laptop with the bumper sticker with one of Tawra's favorite sayings. I can't even afford an Apple Laptop. Kitchen makeover, new pots and pan, and fabulous prizes if you happen to win their contests. A KitchenAid mixer is the top prize. I would love to have a KitchenAid Mixer, but can't afford one of those either. They must have gotten a HUGE check from the mineral rights people to afford all this, a trip to Europe, and ordering more cookbooks to sell plus countless other things they have gotten, but not told about yet!
I wonder who Erin Henry and Mary Meck Higgins are? They must be the original writers for Dining on a Dime: Eating Better for Less??!!!
