Gone is the old laptop with the bumper sticker with one of Tawra's favorite sayings. I can't even afford an Apple Laptop. Kitchen makeover, new pots and pan, and fabulous prizes if you happen to win their contests. A KitchenAid mixer is the top prize. I would love to have a KitchenAid Mixer, but can't afford one of those either. They must have gotten a HUGE check from the mineral rights people to afford all this, a trip to Europe, and ordering more cookbooks to sell plus countless other things they have gotten, but not told about yet!

I wonder who Erin Henry and Mary Meck Higgins are? They must be the original writers for Dining on a Dime: Eating Better for Less??!!!
Most of the Kitchen Aids these days are junky. Quality went way down. If you find a used old one, snatch it up.

I am sure you are right on the newer KitchenAids. I did ask for one many years ago, around 2005 and my parents bought me one for Christmas, but it had absolutely no power at all. My old Sunbeam could mix up cold butter and sugar together with not any problem, but the new KitchenAid kept slowing down as it mixed. We sent that back and I kept using my old mixer. It was very disappointing!!!

I sat through most of the last "show." She forgot half the recipe. This is the book "she wrote" right? I have my recipes and I don't need to reference a book especially when the ingredients are all out in front of me like this last episode...

I would like to see some reviews of her one on one counseling sessions. This sick, overweight, middle income, mess of a lady giving out advice on wealth, nutrition, and organizing-HA!

Okay, so what have we all learned from LOAD/DOAD?
Has she taught us anything useful?

To me, NO.

Personally I think shes out of touch with all current science, nutrition and food. I know way more then her.
The Kellams seem to have made so many missteps financially (abandoning a house, having 4 kids while in debt, etc)
I definitely would not take parenting advice from them after watching the one video where Mike was proud Dave beat up a
classmate. Dont we all teach our kids from day one, "Hands arent for hitting?!" Do these idiots not get that for most people
who suffer from PTSD as adults, their PTSD began with anxiety over bullying and physical violence as children. I wonder how they feel
knowing that their child possibly contributed to the lifelong psychological trauma of another child. Cheer Dave on Mike!
Finally, due to the fact that Tawras CONSISTENTLY unprepared for all her cooking segments, personally I do not feel shes anyones
Guru on Organization at all. Tawra what do you do all day, that you cant set out all ingredients in the morning? I feel that Tawra really
needs The FlyLady.

I rate LOAD/DOAD 1 Star.
I think Tawra needs a Guru for her life. Tawra needs advice in all categories.

Id rather take parenting advice from older grandparent types who have successful well adjusted adults.
Id rather take organizing advice from FlyLady or Marie Kondo or that woman who makes cleaning a fitness activity.
The best ppl to consult for money and food advice is a financial planner or a bank and my county extension service.
Which see: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cooperati ... on_Service

I've watched their videos for a while now and have a "like/dislike" relationship with them. Our family is pretty frugal and I like getting motivation to keep doing the frugal things we have done for years like extremely minimal eating out, inexpensive vehicles, 2nd-hand clothes shopping etc.

However, Tawra almost always manages to make me roll my eyes and certain things about her come across as kinda annoying. This week it was her fishing for compliments by telling people to type "Tawra is great." And then of course Mike parrots, "you are great." Ugh, it comes across to me a narcissistic and conceited or that she has low self-esteem or something. I also think she is prone to exaggeration, especially about time and somewhat about money. She tells people to not make excuses and not complain, but then she is often making excuses and complaining about her life and business.

But then they will talk about things that do encourage me to keep on doing some of the things we do which can be counter-cultural among some of the people I normally am around. Lately they haven't had a lot of substance to keep me interested, so I think it's time for a break. It is interesting to read the perspectives of others.

Hi,
I think Tawra is narcissistic. Her black and white thinking and not budging on anything definitely indicates that.
The teachers at her kids school are at fault, the Post Office is at fault, the Instant Pot is at fault for burning her PERFECT
pot roast recipe, everyone else is at fault but Tawra.
Narcissists dont LOVE themselves, they have extremely fragile egos.

Hi back,

I think I agree she has narcissistic tendencies. It makes me wonder to myself about why I continue to watch their youtube videos and if I should or not.

Well, I watch Todds Kitchen for shits and giggles, because his cooking faux pas are hilarious to me. So Its up to you if you continue to watch DOAD/LOAD. Just remember, shes not capable of changing or evolving.

I think the reason she was so messed up over the Europe Trip was because once she got there she knew she was over her head and out of her league, probably made her sick to her stomach. Sad, all her viewers would have LOVED that trip...

Yeah, the on and on about the art class fiasco with showing Hellenistic period pieces. Jesus Christ, you said no already. He is not doing it. For most that's the end of the story. No, for her, she expects the schools to change. Home school him if you have such a problem. You don't work. Do I think the teacher should have made her own back up plan for students, yes. But you already said your piece that's it's fine if he fails and you'll pull him out for a while. So--the problem is solved. Yet she HAS to rant for several days on YouTube. Boring

She said the elementary school art teacher was going to show art with nudity and Tawra had to sign a permission slip before the lesson. She refused to sign and the teacher asked the parents to pick what art is appropriate for their kids to see. Tara didnt want to pick art as she saw that as not her job. Then she claims the teacher is harassing her son for it. She mentioned the Statue of David so I assumed the teacher was going to show that period. I honestly don't know. I don't see a problem in showing elementary age students the works of Michelangelo, Da Vinci, etc. My little one isnt even as old as Jack and she knows about anatomy. Making it taboo just makes it taboo and shameful. Which it's not as we all have bodies....She was acting like the teacher was going to show them porn.

funtosavemoney and ihatecilantro Tawra is narcissistic to the extreme and also very dumb and it makes for unintentionally funny content. I'm laughing at you not with you...this video came on my feed. She ia teaching us how to organize a laundry room. I am assuming she is saying to just hide your junk in cabinets? It does not look organized to me.

Education is power.
The reason Josh Duggar was molesting his sisters was due to this same thinking that Tawra engages in.
If you tell a boy that masturbation is sinful and if you do it, your family will fall into ruination then you are irreparably damaging him.
If you only homeschool your kids and they arent around other kids, they will transfer normal sexual curiosity to their siblings.
If you make your kids afraid of sex, they will be ashamed!
But Tawra, the narc, thinks she knows EVERYTHING.
Children are thinking beings.

Just remember Tawra, Adam and Eve were NAKED. God told them NOT to eat from the tree of knowledge. They did and realized they were naked and were ashamed and covered up. GOD is okay with nakedness.

I think tawra is deathly afraid of sexual matters cause of her father.

Tawra do you want your kids to get pregnant, STDs, or if a kid is gay do you want them to get aids?
Then prevent that now with open dialogue and education.

How much stuff for laundry does one need?
Soap, Bleach, Color Disinfectant, Shout, OxyClean, Gain scent booster and Dryer Sheets...
7 things. What else is there?
Anything else, you will never use, so get rid of it.
With 6 ppl living there why does she have such tiny amounts of soap?
Mike and Tawra are approaching 50, they should be getting rid of all nonsense items in their house
so no one else has to deal with it when they go to the nursing home later on.
Tawra needs FlyLady

Oh I have totally noticed this. If you turn around what she says as if Mile was saying the same things to her... well it would never fly. It is almost always about her.
