Re: Ballinger Family. Part 1
I hope he doesn't have it either but I look at the shape of his head and the way his toes curl and I cant help but wonder. Jess said in her most recent insta post that they're having trouble getting him to gain weight and failure to thrive is another symptom of t18. I also saw a couple of babies who look just like him when I was looking for the diagram but I'm not sure if I should post their pictures since I don't have permission.
There's a mom on insta who's daughter has t18, I think shes about two now but unfortunately shes a rare gem when it comes to that disorder. I'm not sure if anyone with t18 has ever lived into adulthood So I'm going to cross my fingers and hope I'm way off on this guess.

The birth vlog is up. I’m not gonna super knock them for having the kids in the room while the baby was born but I sure wouldn’t want my 5 year old watching his brother’s head come out of my vagina.

Re: Ballinger Family. Part 1
Did they have an amnio? Because if they did they would know if he had any chromosomal disorders. And if she had to push for a while, he might have a misshapen head anyway.
I don't know-- all this speculation about what he might or might not have seems useless since we aren't really going to know until they say. We can Google stuff all day long. It just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I don't mean to slam anyone here. I know that for whatever issues we might have with the way they make their living, nobody wishes anything bad on them or Luke, and that people are naturally curious about what might be going on. It just doesn't seem right to speculate on this. And I know I'm sounding like a hypocrite because I speculate plenty. I'll shut up now...

Re: Ballinger Family. Part 1
They and the medical staff would have known and been much more worried if he had trisomy 18. I don't know what pictures you googled, but he does not look like classic t18 to me. The children would not have been allowed to be there in case he didn't survive long after birth.the-angry-goose wrote: ↑Sat Oct 26, 2019 4:04 am I hope he doesn't have it either but I look at the shape of his head and the way his toes curl and I cant help but wonder. Eta my experience with t18 is real babies. No interest in googling pictures
Re: Ballinger Family. Part 1
Thank you. This speculation about conditions that most of us don't have experience with makes me kind of sick. These conditions on web MD or whatever are real things that change people's lives, literally. I know no one is wishing anything on them but let's just let it go until the Ballingers tell us if and when anything is wrong.lmmomSD wrote: ↑Sat Oct 26, 2019 9:48 am Did they have an amnio? Re: Ballinger Family. Part 1
I feel like he has to be pretty healthy for the hospital to release him so soon. I pray he is healthy and maybe it's just the picture angles making it look like he has something. I know doctor's can be wrong especially when diagnosing in utero. He is definitely a little cutie and is giving me serious baby fever. I was a little disappointed that Jessica didn't mention him either having or not having a condition but I 100% understand.
Totally off subject but I really like his name and think it fits him perfectly. Bailey has always been one of my top favorite names (shout out to party of 5) and I love the name Jacob (it is actually my son's middle name) but I feel like they kinda went downhill with the names Parker and Duncan. For the longest time when they talked about Duncan I thought they were referring to Duncan donuts (thats the fatty in me ). Please don't be offended this is just my opinion.

Re: Ballinger Family. Part 1
Well I'll have you all know that I have a doctorate in google medicine so I'm pretty qualified to talk about this stuff Seriously though, I wasn't trying to be an asshole. I was curious so I went to doctor google and I wanted to share my thoughts but I can see how it was inappropriate. I really do hope Luke is alright, I would never hope for him to be sick.

I agree about Duncan's name, it's not my favorite but they said they chose when they were back in high school together that they wanted their future son to be named Duncan so I guess that's cute. He somehow seems like a Duncan now too.MamaTweet wrote:Totally off subject but I really like his name and think it fits him perfectly. Re: Ballinger Family. Part 1
If they decided in high school they wanted a son to be named Duncan, why wait until the third son to use the name?

Re: Ballinger Family. Part 1
I hope the baby will be okay. People on GG have been making fun of Colleen saying that she hasn’t said anything about the new baby, and acting a bit uncaring.
People and myself included think she’s probably a bit jealous that Flynn is not the youngest anymore among their group of kids.

I can smell bullshit from a mile away.

Re: Ballinger Family. Part 1
I wonder why they hardly have clothes on the baby
Maybe its hard to keep him awake to feed so stripping him off helps, its just strange to me not to even have a singlet on him

Re: Ballinger Family. Part 1
Finally watched the birth vlog. Parker crying tears of joy as his baby brother was born was possibly the sweetest thing I've ever seen on youtube. The kids were incredibly well behaved in the hospital room. Very impressed.

Re: Ballinger Family. Part 1
I think they said that the kids sat on the couch to the side of Jessica's bed during the birth (which was very short because Luke came out in the first push), so none of them saw anything and Duncan wasn't in the room at all during it. Jessica's aunt (I think it was her aunt) showed up right before the push and took him out of the room.
I don't see anything wrong with how Luke looks. He looks just like a newborn to me. Jessica did say in an Instagram post last week though that he has colic, had lip/tongue ties (and got the procedures to correct them), and jaundice, so maybe that's where/why he's looking "off" to some of you? The ear thing though, where the inner ridge (I don't know what it's actually called) is more out than people normally have it, Colleen has it too. I think it's just an odd trait on Chris' side of the family.

I totally missed that part. I just remember Chris saying the kids sat on the couch to stay out of the way.scojacar wrote: ↑Tue Nov 05, 2019 5:16 pmIn the birth vlog, the kids were all talking about seeing his head start to come out.just_me wrote:I think they said that the kids sat on the couch to the side of Jessica's bed during the birth (which was very short because Luke came out in the first push), so none of them saw anything and Duncan wasn't in the room at all during it. Re: Ballinger Family. Part 1
your bladder can do that as well during pregnancy and when your older it sucks being a womansssabrina wrote: ↑Mon Oct 21, 2019 6:59 am I was listening to Rachel's podcast and Jessica was the cohost that day. She casually mentioned that throughout this pregnancy her "vagina kept falling out".... lol what. I looked it up and I guess she was talking about a prolapsed uterus where her cervix was either partially or all the way out. I had never heard of that before and am still slightly alarmed.

Re: Ballinger Family. Part 1
sorry I deleted a post because I hadn't read before I posted it. I did say from his birth to me he didn't and doesn't look well. I know he is struggling with breastfeeding but to me it was more of that. I hope I'm wrong but he just doesn't look well. As for him never having clothes on they will tell you if they are not waking up to eat (my son) or struggling to stay awake take their clothes off if that doesn't work a cold face cloth which to me was mind boggling because sure it wakes them up but hello how would we like a cold face cloth on us when we are sleeping

Re: Ballinger Family. Part 1
Very curious...none of my 3 had that procedure done for being tongue tied etc. I know Bonnie Hoellein vlogged her son Lincoln’s whole procedure and it looked painful?? Obviously families/Ballingers have no solid choice but to do it...but purely out of curiosity...anyone know if it’s painful? Bonnie said it’s not supposed to be? Hmmm

Re: Ballinger Family. Part 1
According to Google, "The procedure does not seem to hurt babies. This is because there are very few nerve endings in the area around the floor of the mouth. Some babies sleep through the procedure, while others cry for a few seconds. ... The baby's head is held securely while sharp, sterile scissors are used to snip the tongue-tie."jaynshann wrote: ↑Tue Nov 05, 2019 11:10 pm Very curious...none of my 3 had that procedure done for being tongue tied etc. I know Bonnie Hoellein vlogged her son Lincoln’s whole procedure and it looked painful?? It almost sounds like what happens when you get your ears pierced, just a quick instance of pain and that's it.

Re: Ballinger Family. Part 1
It’s not a painless procedure but it is relatively quick. They also said they did the laser revision (instead of clipping) which supposedly minimizes discomfort. They probably have to do stretches every day though for mobility and healing which is an absolute nightmare. I empathize with them. Just from the clip of him taking his bottle you can tell his suck is really weak. I hope his revision and any occupational therapy he gets helps!jaynshann wrote:Very curious...none of my 3 had that procedure done for being tongue tied etc. I know Bonnie Hoellein vlogged her son Lincoln’s whole procedure and it looked painful??
