Nolan doesn't exist to teach his siblings. Don't put that on him and don't put that on his sisters.

My disabled children even more so the child with a life limiting doesn't exist to teach me or their siblings a lesson. People can fuck right off with that inspiration porn bull.

Your disabled CHILDREN? So you can have more than one disabled child, but other people can’t? And for the record, I NEVER said Britney should have another child with DMD. I mentioned genetic testing in my very first post on this subject.

So for MamaDrama... aka Britney.. or her wannabe fan girl...
DMD is an illness that progressively worsens. There is NO cure. The quality of life goes down until the person dies. In RARE cases, they live longer lives, while of course suffering- lack of breaking, being wheelchair bound. Typically a person wit DMD does not live a very long life- they struggle (like Nolan is already showing signs of regression at 5 with how Harlow is surpassing him).

There are other forms of MD that aren’t as bad. My friend’s father and brother actually both have a form of a less servers MD and are both wheelchair bound. Nothing as bad as what will happen to Nolan in the next few years.

People with a disability, like Down syndrome can live a very fulfilling life, especially on the high functioning side... they can aspire to go to prom, get jobs, get married-living a whole life... because it’s not a death sentence!

People with heath concerns, can also live out long fulfilling lives. There’s treatments for a lot of that stuff. Where as DMD, there isn’t.

Meanwhile, not only will Nolan sadly suffer through regression as time passes, he currently has 3 other sisters to grieve when his time inevitably comes. Three sisters who will have to watch their only brother suffer for years while they can live relatively normal lives- possibly worrying about whether or not they’re carriers of this disease-(and hopefully get tested since their mother is selfish)- and be broken from the loss of a sibling- which can cause more mental issues down the line. What kind of quality of life is this? Britney and Ean will have to burry their only son, have you ever lost a child? Because I was told that that’s the worse grief anyone could ever go through is losing their children!

Britney is willing choosing to make this hell for her children happen multiple times. Britney has the finances to get IVF like a responsible person carrying a deadly gene would get done if they wanted more children... but instead, she’s choosing to risk letting her children suffer more.

No one, absolutely NO ONE- is upset at her for having Nolan. She had no idea that she was a carrier of a genetic disease. I can guarantee you that most of us cried with her when she told the world about it! Our hearts broke for him.

Everyone is upset because she is playing Russian roulette with genetics. Statistically speaking 1 in 4 of HER kids will have DMD. She had 2 kids since finding out about being a carrier, and now she’s pressing her luck with #3... there’s also a 50% chance of any of her girls also being carriers of this disease, like she is. That means if baby 5 is a girl- chances are 2 of her girls will be a carrier for DMD. Harlow shows signs of a carrier.. and Britney refuses to get either of them tested.

His life will be so unfulfilled and painful more so because it’s not like Britney is a mom like RamFam who at least advocates for him, takes him on trips and gives him undivided attention. Britney/Frank barely give those kids any attention so I can’t even fathom them going from what they do now to assisting Nolan 24/7 with his daily needs.

don’t see frank sticking around for that because by then they’re gonna be spending a shit ton of money on all his expenses that insurance won’t cover. Even if Britney starts acting like she cares and showing his DMD journey and her channel blows up, Frank isn’t gonna wanna deal with Nolan’s constant care especially when all the money make is gonna go towards Nolan’s care, wheelchair, wheelchair accessible van.

RamFam (who is an amazing mother to her DMD) says caring for a child with DMD is very grueling and demanding, so imagine Frank who’s not even his biological father.

All I’m trying to say is that you can live with a chronic or terminal illness and still have a happy and fulfilling life despite being in pain, and even though you know that you are going to die and/or end up in a wheelchair.

Aria is only 7, there is still time for her and her sisters to be tested to see if they are carriers.

Again, genetic testing is an option. And to the person who said this is “child selection”, are you out of your mind? How many of you went for 11-14 ultrasounds with blood work? That’s testing your risk for certain chromosomal abnormalities.

How do we know that Britney and Frank wouldn’t terminate another DMD child? You guys are talking like they already have a second son with the condition.

Having blood tests and ultrasounds to see if your baby is healthy is one thing. But what I was referring to was using specifically ABORTION to control what kind of child you have. Please read before you speak

The 11-14 week ultrasound (Nuchal translucency exam) which includes a blood test on the same day, is LITERALLY for the purpose of determining the risk of chromosomal abnormalities. If having a child with Down syndrome, T18, or T13 would not change your mind about continuing the pregnancy, then there is no point in the 11-14 week ultrasound/blood test. The 18-20 week anatomy scan would still be important for fetal health, sure. But the entire purpose of the earlier scan is to determine abnormalities at an early enough stage in pregnancy so that the mother has time to terminate.

Oh good lord, stop. I’ve had every test imaginable every time I was pregnant not because I was planning on terminating if something was wrong, but because if my child had DS or spina bifida or a host of other issues I’d like to know as soon as possible. Months worth of time to wrap your mind around a diagnosis as well as educate yourself and start lining up the proper doctors and specialists could be extremely valuable.

I honestly can't say how I would handle things if I was in that situation. When I was pregnant with my daughter, I did get tested to see if she was at risk for a genetic disorder. It's a serious one where the symptoms start to become noticeable sometimes at only 6 months old and get worse until death before age 5. I tested because I wanted time to make a decision. Was I going to let my child have a horrible life and suffer for only the 5 years that she might live? It was one of the most stressful times of my life, waiting for those test results. Thankfully, she was fine.

However, in Britney's situation, knowing that she is a carrier and that all of her daughters have the possibility of at least one (I don't actually know the statistics so I could be wrong) being a carrier themselves... Does she do any research at all? A quick search told me that carriers are not off the hook. They can have symptoms too, in rare cases just as bad as the effected males, but either way it is recommended that they get their heart checked often because that's one of the most serious complications for carriers.

Does she not care about her own health too? And her THREE daughters? Sorry for the long post but seriously?!
