Double post, sorry. But that whole "don't call the ambulance" thing is BS too. Ambulances come equipped with oxygen and breathing treatments and they can give meds on the way to the ER and don't endanger others driving like maniacs ,(generally) because they have lights and sirens and get the right of way. Hod doesn't have to make them invisible to cops.
I just wish they would STOP acting as though they know Jack shit about _,anything_. Because they are spreading misinformation all over. Except for keeping sick kids at home. Which they talk about but don't practice.

That doesn't make sense either. Those girls weigh probably at least 30-40 pounds (the heavies) and 1-2 mg/kg would be 15-30 mg. There are 2.2 pounds in a kg. Esme probably weighs 25-30 pounds. So 12-13 kg.
So for 5mg pills, they would need 3-4, or maybe even 6 for the bigger girls.
It makes no sense at all. And is their doctor just calling it in without seeing the girls?

If it’s Prednisolone they also come in 25mg tablets so I shudder to think of the possibility she’s using 25mg tablets.

For comparison purposes I’m 174cm tall and weigh around 68kg. My GP, respiratory specialist and palliative care specialist worked together to give me my various regimes that I can work within myself at home without their prior authorisation but I must notify them. Rescue dosages are different but if I start a regime of steroids my starting dose is 50mg. If I’m not getting a response from that then I have to contact one of them or go to my admitting hospital. And because my condition is terminal as part of palliative measures we don’t have to be as conservative with meds.

If you go to the board index down the very bottom it lists names of those currently online and shows the colours/ways names of admin and moderators show up. I’m guessing if you click on one of the mods names you’d be able to message them and ask them to remove it.

Right. For my Crohn's flares, they give me 40mg (4 10mg tablets) for 5 days, and then I have to taper off. And while I am on it, I eat everything in sight and bounce off the walls and can't sleep.
So sorry you have to deal with palliative care, Downtherabbithole.
I can't imagine how wired those girls would be on steroids.

You bring up another very good point ImmomSD - I’ve always been told three days or more of steroids requires a tapering off dose because the synthetic dosage means the body stops producing its own so you need to give your body the signs to kick start it’s own production again. My tapering regime depends on the dosage and length of time I’ve been on them. I’ve gone back and rewatched the stories and there was 17 hours between her saying she’d gotten steroids down her the first time and then having just had the second dose.

Thanks ImmomSD. I’ll admit some days are tougher than others. But I have an incredible GP and support network. There are many here, yourself included, who also deal with challenging health and personal issues so I often find myself inspired by many of you.

I don’t get this whole steroids thing.

They may or may not prescribe a single dose of dexamethasone in the UK, depending on the severity of the croup. That would have to be assessed.
My youngest daughter had several bouts of quite bad croup when she was little. One night, we took her to the out of hours doctor rather than our GP and he advised us to see the GP again the next day. Looking back in her record at the time, he felt she needed to be treated for asthma because the croup was frequent and taking days to settle.
She was put on a 3 week course of steroids and a preventer and reliever inhaler. That course was tapered off. They grow out if croup at around 7, but with a cold she still coughed a lot and needed her asthma meds adjusted.
She is now 18 and just finished a course of oral steroids and had to have a new inhaler introduced after a bad cold. That course was 5 days of a stat dose. I can’t for the life of me remember the dose, but it was five or six tablets at a time - at the same time every day.
Ashley needs to have the girls seen because she is assuming it’s croup, when there could be an underlying condition causing it - especially as they get older.
Doctors here are loathe to prescribe steroids here even for asthma, unless it is essential. Incorrect use of steroids can actually exacerbate the condition rather than improve it. I don’t know many 4 or 5 year olds who would swallow tablets easily. Plus, tablets don’t usually give a specific enough dose for children, who need it to be measured out is mg/ml

So many posts. To the poster in palliative care, I'm sorry, I went through all the post s but couldn't find you, my heart goes out to you. To my aussie sisters who may be in the path of the fires, I"m heartbroken for you. It's so unprecedented at this time of year and not something could have expected at all. It's just all so scary.

I'm on steroids, though a low dose, and my kids are grown and gone so I can't remember doses for little ones. But if she is just freefalling and giving out doses 'she' thinks are appropriate she is setting them up for a world of trouble. With the high sugar content they eat and drink and steroids, their blood sugars will be off the chart. I'm diabetic and any increase in my steroids has to go through my endocrinologist. This may explain them climbing tables and windows etc. Even though we know they are feral at the best of times.

What I don't understand is why they don't just take them to a doctor, have them assessed and medicated appropriately and that would stop all the drama. Oh, silly me.

I can't believe they would use their children for hits. They should have just gone offline for a few days and told everyone the girls are sick and they would be back as soon as the girls were well again. That alone would have got them thousands of 'thoughts and prayers. Who the fuck does an IG outside the ER with a sick child and who takes a pick of one in the ER. They are just media whores and god help their kids wanting any form of care or privacy. They are media scum, no two ways about it. They would sell their kids souls in a minute if it meant they got money or extra clicks.

I've seen that too. Poor kid. And when Ass was doing the mermaid make up on them Esme kept saying "It's my turn" and even stood on the chair to make sure it was her turn cause Indie started saying it's her turn as well. Then Tyabetes comes in and Trash is talking to him ignoring her kids while Esme is trying to grab the fishnet out of her hands. She was really on edge there. And the next clip it's Indies turn! Who would have thought.

I think Esme was deeply hurt by this and even the incubator must have noticed it so she made sure she was the first one to do make up on in the next vlog.
