When my son learned to walk, he preferred to be barefoot. But we only did this in the house. If he had gone outside I put shoes on him. I got him converse and I know people will probably say those are terrible but he hasn’t had issues.
Another good shoe company are stride rites. They even match Emma’s pretentious peasant style. So Rachelle look it up. May be on to something there.

Thanks for the update but if your username is your real name I'd try and delete this post then come back under a different username as it seems like you and her are in the same private FB group.estellabtorres wrote: ↑Tue Nov 19, 2019 8:12 am Here is the news she's going to be putting in today's vlog.

I do feel for her a little bit because mom guilt is real and it sucks, but at the same time it's difficult because she boasted for so long about how advanced Emma was/is and that just wasn't the case at all. She had/has no problem making others feel less than a mom because Emma did XYZ before the standard timeframe. I feel worse for Emma because there is stuff she could do to help her. Emma didn't need a pacifier shoved in her mouth, to be put in front of a screen, etc. If Rash and Justine actually spent QUALITY time with her and interacted with her more than just obsessing over Disney movies together, she may not be in this predicament. I think it's great Emma will be receiving services. I just hope they actually take it seriously and be honest with themselves so Emma can thrive the way she deserves. There is nothing wrong with needing extra help- that's what it is there for. And thank goodness for a pediatrician intervening early and getting Emma help now while it's not still too late. And yes, Rash, this is absolutely a reflection of your shitty parenting skills.

I almost wonder if the pediatrician saw more than just speech delay and is starting therapy early. She should be saying a few more words than just Beau Beau (which really doesn't seem like she's actually saying Beau the dog but more like Bo as a sound) but 15 months seems so early to be super concerned with just speech delay. So that makes me think Emma has other delays that Rash probably won't talk about. Idk. I do feel for her a little too but they really haven't done much to help Emma.10PumpsOfVanilla wrote: ↑Tue Nov 19, 2019 8:44 am I do feel for her a little bit because mom guilt is real and it sucks, but at the same time it's difficult because she boasted for so long about how advanced Emma was/is and that just wasn't the case at all. I'm going to guess it's her communication skills in general. Emma doesn't even respond to her name, let alone understand a basic command (ex: wave, blow a kiss, etc.) It is for sure more than just Emma not talking.

For real! If you can teach your daughter to say up you can teach her to speak. And use REAL words, not baby talk! Trashy you speak to your daughter in a baby voice, how aboy changing that???!! The specialist will tell you EVERYTHING we have been saying for MONTHS!! Read to her, no baby talk, normal words, repeating words, no crap on the tv, educational videos, save the office for you and justine!! you read here trashy! Emma could have improved without a specialist!!
Geez it says a lot when your own kid can’t say ma ma a 15 months.

Rachelle and Justin: Poisoned pets, debt and child neglect | Part 24
The post from MM, just shows what Trashy is worried about, her child having some sort of delay, delay related disability.... because that’s not fitting with her Insta Perfect Family.
Let me tell you Rashy. There’s no FILTER or PRESET for speech delay.
Rachelle, you can’t wish it better. Get your daughter help, advocate for her, do the work.

It may be an indication it is something else (global delay, autism, etc..,) , it may not.
Look, I totally understand mom guilt. However, a diagnosis of a certain disability does NOT CHANGE WHO YOUR CHILD IS. For example:
If Emma is diagnosed with autism, she was already autistic. She is the same person now then she will be 3 months from now.
The only thing a diagnosis is going to do is get her the SERVICES AND HELP SHE NEEDS. Stop making this about yourself and swallow your pride, Rachelle. This is about what is best for your daughter.

I would have some respect trashy if she went on that mommy group looking for a good specialist, or help with how to help her daughter. To go on there wanting to be told (by strangers) your daughter is fine. Isn’t healthy, looking for validation from people who know nothing about your daughter or what other things she can’t do, will NOT help.
She needs help trashy. Stop blowing money on couches and trees and get help for Emma!

3 months is a long wait for therapy. Yes, speech delay IS a sign of something else: your shitty parenting.
Pacifier and TV are the 2 main culprits, plus lack of interaction and stimulation from her lazy parents. Teaching a kid that Bo-bo is a word for dog should be considered child abuse. Makes me so mad to hear how they don't tell her the real names of objects
Poor emma to have such selfish parents.
She can't even use apostrophe correctly: mama's

Re: Rachelle and Justin: Poisoned pets, debt and child neglect | Part 24
Mom to mom, that post makes it hard not to feel for her a bit. You can tell that she thinks there is something bigger wrong but she’s in denial. I mean she’s trying to get out of going to speech therapy instead of asking for opinions on other specialists in the area. I think she’s probably ashamed, which is ridiculous because there is NO SHAME in getting your child the early intervention and help that they need. Your pride is not more important than your child’s development.
But at the same time, I think a huge part of Emma’s lack of communication is their parenting. I think if she interacted with Emma more, read to her, and did age-appropriate activities, she would be developing at a more normal pace. I’m sure Emma is fine, just taking longer to get there. But I really hope they actually do something about it instead of just hoping it gets better.

The comments are a bunch of other moms reassuring her not to worry, and also questioning why they are referring Emma out so young. Rachelle is just stating she'd rather "get early intervention rather than wait"13Cindersmella wrote: ↑Tue Nov 19, 2019 11:07 amI’d love an update on the comments!estellabtorres wrote:She won't know who I am but thank you for the heads up!

Wow sounds like she’s getting terrible advice! If there’s a 3 month wait it makes sense to get a referral now. If anything changes in 3 months she could just cancel the appointment.estellabtorres wrote: ↑Tue Nov 19, 2019 11:19 amThe comments are a bunch of other moms reassuring her not to worry, and also questioning why they are referring Emma out so young. at that comment that "some kids are just lazy." Really? Too lazy to express what they want verbally? Most kids are eager to communicate. What an uninformed and insulting comment.

Re: Rachelle and Justin: Poisoned pets, debt and child neglect | Part 24
Emma will not suddenly be talking up a storm in three months so she’s definitely correct in getting on the wait list NOW. The comments that were seen are awful! They will be the reason why she doesn’t trust her instinct and fight for Emma. She always needs to be patted on the head and told her daughter is fine. She’s not. Get her the help. Heck.. comment on this forum and we will give her the correct tools. Everything that’s said here as far as Emma’s development is helpful... no paci, no TV, no iPad, use correct names for objects, talk regularly and not in a baby voice... the list goes on. As a Mom, I’m constantly talking and pointing things out. When I change their diaper, I’m talking about what I’m doing or what they’re doing. How else are babies going to learn vocabulary? It’s very easy to do it should be natural. You don’t plop your child in a high chair to eat and then lounge on the couch to scroll through your phone or laptop.

Re: Rachelle and Justin: Poisoned pets, debt and child neglect | Part 24
I can’t wait to hear how she explains Emma’s delay. She most definitely won’t admit any fault whatsoever. A humble person would use this as an opportunity to reflect on where they can improve as a mother. I would say start with not having your child stare at a TV all day, and give her some real life experiences outside of the home. My guess is that her and Justin will sit down together to explain it in the vlog and she’ll somehow make him feel guilt for this (while shooting him death glares and belittling everything he says). Take some responsibility, Rash. You’re a stay at home mom, with a stay at home husband, and disposable income clearly... make use of your advantages and do better for your daughter!

And another thing... make the appointment... let the PROFESSIONALS tell you that Emma is being lazy. I never understand the big deal. So they tell you she doesn’t need services. Wouldn’t you rather THAT then ignore it and not get her evaluated?
