Exactly. Queen Victoria alone had how many kids? 9 ? And with the way crowns changed hands, there are a lot of us with "royal blood". It's doesn't mean anything, and it's certainly nothing to be so smug about (although I admit to getting huffy with my cousins over the treatment of Robert the Bruce in "Braveheart)
I just don't understand making a big deal over it and acting "proud" like it's some kind of accomplishment.
But these people are the prototype Ugly Americans.

This genealogy trip basically proves the Mormon religion is FAKE AF. They are so excited to "learn" about relatives, but they aren't related as Mormons. None of the people they've mentioned are remotely related in the LDS faith.

It's just SOOOOOOOO weird!

Also, why does Ruby sound drunk or high?? Is she a pill-popper now? She's totally slurring words and sounds intoxicated.

Possibly... or maybe she has a brain tumor and it's getting bigger... you know her forgetfulness etc... who knows with her. These people never go to the doctor unless it's for views, or you know... Shari's coach tells her to.

They do genealogy so that they can baptize their deceased relatives by proxy so that Henry VII has a chance to get into heaven.
I remember my high school BFF saying that she had to go do "baptisms for the dead".
But that is why they research their families so deeply. My cousin is into it just for history's sake. He looooved going to the LDS genealogy center. Anyone can research their families there, and they have a lot of information.

They must feel proud and accomplished to being related to these people but these royals they claim to be their ancestors would be rolling in their graves with shame with what Ruby and Kevin have done with their lives and what they do to their children.

Meh. Henry VII made Henry VIII marry his brother's widow, even though the church at the time said it was incest. Henry VIII made his daughter Mary "illegitimate" by annulling his marriage to Catherine of Aragon, using the argument that it was incest. (Readers Digest Condensed Version of history)
It was common practice to send your children away to be raised in other people's homes.
They're actually following in a lovely tradition of dysfunction.

So Ruby admits to being nasty and rude, and "over the top" when Julie didn't do all her chores before school. I would love to see just one hidden video of what Ruby is really like (maybe she will be cast as a SLC "Real Housewife"!). So she punishes Julie by taking away her source of books, so reading doesn't get in the way of doing Ruby's chores on demand now. Didn't we just watch Ruby spend years trying to get Julie interested in reading so she didn't suffer the same struggles as the other kids reading so far below grade level? Great parenting.

Also, I laughed so hard that Ruby wrote Julie felt "bad" and Ruby felt "bed". I bet she did with all that sleeping in, nap time and fast food in bed!

I don’t know if anyone’s talked about this before but....
What’s with the not sharing food thing? I see it with both ruby and Bonnie. They have a bunch of food that only they can eat....why?

The entire family seems to have a disordered relationship with food. The adults withhold it as a way to control kids. Kids get served things like oatmeal for dinner while the parents eat sushi and ice cream in bed. The kids were getting in trouble for hiding food in their rooms because they were waking up hungry in the middle of the night. We have seen this mentality in Grandma Griff as well. She notes certain foods are "too good for kids". There is also pressure from her for the girls in particular to stay very slim. In general, the family believes that kids only deserve the bare minimum for survival (food, clothing, shoes, bedding, toys, education, etc.). Once they are adults/making their own money, then they can eat until full, wear shoes without holes, play with toys, eat nutritious foods, have more than a couple of outfits, have bedding that isn't duct taped, beds that aren't broken, etc.

ETA: This may have started out due to poverty, but now that they all have more than enough wealth, it just seems indicative of a psychological disorder....or plain old neglect/narcissism/abuse/ignorance.

I totaly agree with you but still i think its weird since people who life in poverty mostly give the food to the kids and give them self little to nothing and starve themself so that the children have a full belly.

Good point! I remember Abby once was raving about a breakfast at a relative's house, excited that they were allowed to eat as much food as they wanted. I assume it had to be on Kevin's side, which we never hear about. Hopefully she remembers the experience so she knows how the rest of the world lives, and has a shot at breaking the cycle of dysfunction, when it comes to food at least.

I just watched a vid of Grandma/Grandpa Griff watching Ellie's three kids 6 and under. There were no toys so they played with a letter opener, jewelry, and a pitchfork. They got tiny portions of food, because Grandma said it would be less for her to clean up when they spill it. They turned down the offer of cinnamon on their hot chocolate, so they lied to them to manipulate them to ask for it anyways, despite the pleas to tell them the truth about the suspect claims. Grandma Griff also tried to badger poor 4? yr old Calvin into saying her elderly mother is pretty by asking him 3 times. After he screamed no, the clip cut. Like mother like daughters. Watching this family is like a real time psychological case study.

Man alive Shari is so greedy! I can’t believe she actually jumped on the gifts so she’d get first pick! Then practically ripping the gloves out of Abby’s hands. No..just NO! I would have made her wait to be LAST. I bet the other kids can’t wait till she moves the hell out. Not like she’d go far..BYU is right there. Ugh.

I just watched that and wow, I seriously got secondhand embarrassment from watching that. What Teenager does that, especially when all their siblings are younger and could turn it into an argument. Like I’m only 18, but I’d never do that. That would give me a kick up the ass and no gifts.

I watch very few of their vlogs anymore... but, I watched this one, because of the title... Ruby and Kevin should have went from youngest to oldest with the things they didn't pick out especially for each child. Shari was being extremely rude and not very "humble" when she jumped on that pile... and when she grabbed the gloves out of Abby's hands. And isn't that what Ruby and Kevin keep trying the shove down their kids throats? "Be humble"... guess they missed the mark on Shari. Maybe they should send her to Anasazi.

At least I think she's our favorite here... and I think Chad has changed how he reacts towards her. I don't think that Russell nor Eve have ill intent toward her... it's just the rest of the hateful crew. :bh:

You summed it up well. I would like to add, one church outfit, the same to wear each week, while the mom probably has enough outfits and shoes to wear a different one every Sunday of the year without repeating.

So, Ruby is seasoned enough to write a parenting book, but has to go to social media to ask for suggestions on smoothing a rift over with her 3rd in line daughter? Being big enough to swallow your pride and apologize to your child is Parenting 101, Ruby. Perhaps you should find that book and save your time writing your own.
