A few thoughts. As much as we like to be on here and pick apart YT personalities I do not agree that people should be reaching out to the kids. But that being said....to have your life online for public consumption and then to link your minor's social media accounts attached to yours, you really shouldn't expect much less. This page to me is to vent about the frustrations of errors what (most of us) see with the way the Knorpps do things, but I would never EVER consider crossing the line of not only contacting a minor, but ruining a surprise for the kids. The only thing I agree with Mike and Megan here lately is to take the kids on a trip, since they are self declared "worldschoolers" too, and to take that away from them is so sad. Maybe this was a good lesson, too much of their info is public and it's frightening and at least it was "just" a ruined surprise and not some horrible trafficking scheme or worse.

I can't see though how they tracked that message back to this site...someone messaged her on her instgram DM, unless Esther engaged with this person and THEN they told her that they found out from this site. The screen shot Meg posted has no tracks to here, they must have just started googling and FOUND this page and ASSUME it was someone from here.

The reason Andrew or whatever kid saw the vacation destination saw it because they went into Meggie and Mikes room and I guess saw a glimpse. Noone on here said anything. Megan said that she swore him to secrecy. I do agree she should have been more secretive and discreet about this whole thing but still who would go and purposely tell one of them?? Idk that rubs me the wrong way.. just a bit of evil in a way. What was the point? Now its ruined for the kids. Its like if another parent told your 5 year old “Santas not real, your mommy has been lying to you” like why take it upon yourself as a stranger to ruin it for the kid? Next time Megan needs to be more proactive and intentional about the things she shares. She clearly doesn’t know how to work Pinterest either because all the proof is right there. Let me go see what shes ranting about though

Thats exactly what they did.. they googled a few keywords and this site popped up and they think it was someone from here. Which it could be but it could also just be a random who seen the info and went and messaged Esther. I mean gossip pages are NOT hard to find. Google the YT name or legal name of someone and if they have ANY gossip about them anywhere it will pull it up. I found a shit ton of pages about all the youtubers I watch and such just by typing in their name. Its not rocket science.

You have CHOSEN to make their lives PUBLIC.

Now you need to CHOOSE to protect them, and STOP sharing every little thing that glitters through your minds.

Exactly! We don’t have to look very hard to find reasons to dislike someone (I won’t use the word hate- I don’t hate people, but I can strongly dislike the dumb choices they make that put their kids at risk), because we are presented with new options every day.

I go back and forth between amusement that they care so much what we "haters" think (despite their protestations that they DON'T care) and being gobsmacked that they are "concerned" about what we think and say about them, when there are obviously people who are obsessed with them, using pictures of them for avatars, and "loving" them, when their address is so easy to find. Most stalkers start out "loving" the person they stalk. It generally turns ugly when they are rejected by the object of their affection.
We're not the ones they should be concerned about. We're not likely to knock on their door. But yeah, blame us for the cat getting out of the bag. Whatever.

Totally off current topic here...but I'm waiting at the curb side take away for dinner and decided to Google to see what Mike must have seen. I came across the empty house tour of their Utah "mid century modern" house. First words out of Megan's mouth..."we bought this house and we have 4 chairs to put in it...."

I'm sorry, what? You "bought" that house? They only ever rented that place.These guys are the most fake people. Everything they do is for show. None of it is for pure self improvement or fulfillment.

Alarming fact #2. When they moved into that house in 2018 they had 4 chairs to their name...look at all the shit in their 3600sq ft rental now. Holy Geeze. The money they BLOW thru. If they had any sense of self preservation they should he hoarding money not things. Doterra wont last forever and neither will YouTube. As megan so eloquently explained in her story today with eve by her side...they bought that house because they want to live simply...then LIVE SIMPLY. Dont buy a grossly overpriced pos that requires hundreds of thousands of dollars of upgrades to make it stand up to your "simple" standards. Buy a lot, put some hookups on it and buy a nice park model RV, trailer. Done. And much cheaper. Fyi...Meg commented on a YouTube comment that they plan on putting hookups in that backyard for their RV. That's laughable. It's like they have no idea that cities have codes and people to enforce them. I bet they get on a first name basis with that cities code enforcer. That's if they actually make it into that house...which I still greatly doubt since what they want will he way over their "budget."

Setting aside all of the Knorpp's life choices, I think it was pretty crappy for someone to purposely ruin a Christmas surprise. Why?! What makes someone want to be such a grinch? It's also creepy to randomly contact a 16 year old that you don't know. Yuck!

Even with all of her nuttiness, I like Megan's resilience. Good for her that she embraced the name of this board and made it her own on Pinterest...she's got thicker skin than I do. I appreciate people who can turn things around and find a way to laugh with other people at themself.

Their parenting choices are not up to everyone's standards, and that's okay. I can imagine if I laid out all of my parenting decisions publically, I'd probably be criticized too. I originally started watching their channel because I was intrigued by a large family traveling in an RV. They've morphed a ton over time (we all do), but I'm happy that their kids get to travel abroad again. That is such an amazing childhood experience. Its something that I value in my family, for my kids, so I'm looking forward to their travel vlogs.

Yes, it was crappy that someone reached out to a child to talk to them about something happening that her parents discussed online.

But here's the thing- her kids have become public figures because of her never ending pursuit for a free dollar. I don't think it's fame she's after. I think it's just another easy way to make money, similar to doTerra. But because of her, complete creeps all around the world know her children's names, personal details about their lives, the things they enjoy doing, their social media information, and more.

When you talk about it being creepy, it is. But her parents should be the ones who are protecting her from those creeps, rather than selling her out for another free dollar.

No person is perfect, parent or not. No one agrees 100% of the time with 100% of the people out there, but they DID choose this pursuit for the almighty buck, and in doing so, they have opened the door to both love and criticism of their lives. When the dollar bill plays a larger role in their lives than the safety of their children, that says a lot about the kind of parents they are.

If I were a public figure (and thank ever deity above that I'm not), my first step in protecting my kids online, would be to insist that they never use their own names, they don't follow me on social media to help protect them, and they never, ever share photos or personal information.

Oh... wait... I do most of that now. My kids are 17, 20, and 23. Until they were 18, they were never allowed to share personal information, period. No school names, no school mascots, no state information, no last name, no age, nothing. They were taught what kind of questions they should inform us of- if someone was really insistent on knowing personal information (repeatedly asking for the same info over and over), they told us right away. They had a lot of restrictions- and as such, the few creepers they encountered were squashed by us- the parents.

There is no reason that anyone watching them on YT should be able to locate those kids online if they are under the age of 18. NOT ONE.

But they don't generally "find a way to laugh" at criticism. They delete comments and block people who don't kiss their asses. Making our thread title her Pinterest page wasn't her laughing with us at her "nuttiness". She's trolling us. Big difference (at least in my opinion). I agree that it's creepy that anyone contacted any of the kids, and that spilling the beans about the trip was mean. But she has no one to blame but herself.
My kids are adults and STILL don't have public accounts on any social media. They never have. Some of these vloggers have accounts for their babies before they are even born! And it's ALL for money. The almighty buck is more important than their children's safety. When my kids were little, everything I read said that you weren't supposed to upload pictures or videos of kids to public social media sites. And now people do it for money and babies have #ads on "their" accounts ("managed by mom" of course, to get around the rules saying that children under 13 can't have Instagram accounts)
And yet, people think they are such wonderful parents.

NO ONE here spilled her 'secret'. She made a pintrest board called PERU and myself and others assumed it was a travel board for her next trip since her brain works like pintrest. It could have been FOR ANYTHING! She's the one talking on IG stories about hiking and Andrew finding out. On her IG story today she said she did not know how the person who made a comment on Esther's IG post came to that conclusion???? Really??? Come on Meg's. The first thing she says is that she asked Mikey to check google and the gossip forums. Really? She's so quick to lash out at others for her own mistake, playing the victim, when it was her OWN doing all along!
