100% agree. Comparing bands and sports teams to talentless Youtubers is so far from an equal comparison. Not the same at all. These people are getting paid to simply holding a camera in front of their face. They do not possess any sort of talent and really should not be getting paid for what they do. People that buy “merch” from no name Youtubers are insane.lmmomSD wrote:For me the difference between wearing a Youtuber's "merch" and a band or sports team is that bands and sports teams actually generally have a talent. People buy their music and go to concerts and sporting events because they are special in some way: talented musicians or gifted athletes are different to me than some random person whose "gift" is that they videotape their family, edit, maybe add some music, and upload it to YouTube. There is nothing special about 99% of family vloggers. Some youtubers who actually put some effort into their videos, like Casey Niestat, I can see. But the Binghams? Nope. Gardners? Hell no.UnicornSnark wrote:I’m curious how much of their “merge” they will actually sell and I love that we can actually see. So far, less than 100.
I don’t think it’s that weird to wear you tuber merchandise. I don’t and probably never will but I do wear my favorite band shirts and sports team. I guess it just doesn’t seem that different to me. However, the Greed’s is just ugly. The logo placement on the breast pocket seems like a work shirt. And the flower design could alienate any of their masculine population (not that there’s anything wrong with a man wearing a flower but my husband said he would never wear it). The color does not show up on the grey background color. There’s probably other things wrong with it as well but that’s what stands out for now.
