Jessica very much promotes a very 'motherly' role for the older kids toward the younger. Bailey spoke in a baby voice to Parker until somewhat recently. Right now it's still pretty sweet, but Bailey is getting older. She already talks about wanting to be a mom and have kids and how she 'can't wait.' I'm sure that's also mostly harmless but it always makes me feel just a little off.

Very curious...none of my 3 had that procedure done for being tongue tied etc. I know Bonnie Hoellein vlogged her son Lincoln’s whole procedure and it looked painful?? Obviously families/Ballingers have no solid choice but to do it...but purely out of curiosity...anyone know if it’s painful? Bonnie said it’s not supposed to be? Hmmm

It’s not a painless procedure but it is relatively quick. They also said they did the laser revision (instead of clipping) which supposedly minimizes discomfort. They probably have to do stretches every day though for mobility and healing which is an absolute nightmare. I empathize with them. Just from the clip of him taking his bottle you can tell his suck is really weak. I hope his revision and any occupational therapy he gets helps!

Poor little guy. I still don't get why they are saying he has colic. He seems to have plenty going on to make him fussy.

My brother was born when I was 10 and I was the exact same way with him. I'd run to his room when he cried and get there before either of my parents. I always volunteered to feed him or look after him. When my mom took naps or ran to the store, I watched him (and my younger sister). I was definitely made to be like a second mom to him and when I was Bailey's age, I dreamed of the day I'd be a mom too (which I'm not and probably never will be). I think she's just excited to have another sibling and be able to play mother some more.

Bailey is very emotionally stunted. I mean I think it is good she is a regular kid who plays with tips and dresses are appropriately... But she talks like a toddler. Like she puts on a baby voice. I feel like they aren't letting her grow up.

Am I the only one who thinks there is more wrong with Luke than they are letting on or the issues are much worse than they originally told everyone?

I did think it was a little odd to see Jessica, a mother of 5, so upset about minor complications such as difficulty latching. Although, I will admit that I do not have children yet and can't understand the feelings that accompany post-partum. Maybe this is just an emotional time. I do hope Luke is okay, but my initial reaction is that they are dealing with something bigger off camera.

I only started watching them last year and I have not gone back and watched the birth vlogs or beginning weeks/months of when any of the other kids were born, but for anyone who has is Luke their first baby to have latching problem? If he is, maybe that's why she's more anxious and emotional about it? If he's not the first to have the problem, I hope he's ok or that at least it's something minor (like the tongue tie was). I keep assuming that since he's home and not in the NICU that he's ok.

Maybe they're waiting to get it nailed down before they talk about it. Even though Jessica said she wanted to document and take others on the journey with them, I still can't see them updating in real time about anything much less than surface level.

I guess it's minor in the grand scheme of things, but it's very disheartening to want to breastfeed and not have the baby latch on. Something that you want to come so naturally being a huge struggle and taking up so much of your time really saps your energy when you've also just had a baby. Breastfeeding brings out complex and personal emotions, and it's also difficult when the issue is with the baby and not the mother's supply because it's not something the mother can fully control.

Especially if she breastfed 4 kids easily. My daughter has swallowing issues, and I remember crying because I couldn't feed my own baby, which I thought should be the most natural thing in the world.
Plus she's probably stressed about whatever else is going on with him. And hormones.

It's because she's playing Annie, she wanted to dye it rather than wear a wig. From the looks of it I'm guessing they bought some kind of children's product and Jessica did it herself.

I agree. The actor playing Annie shouldn't have to go into falsetto to sing "Tomorrow." Her range just isn't high enough. I don't want to insult a child because I'm sure she'll have a blast playing Annie and give it her all, and I know it's just a community theater production, but her singing is not great.

And just to add, Bailey doesn't have a great singing voice and she CLEARLY isn't very good at acting either. In the "I Don't Need Anything But You" videos Colleen posted, Bailey is looking at her finger before he's even sang 'you've wrapped me around that cute little finger'. There's a difference between acting and doing what you are directed to do.

Nice to seen Colleen there and supporting though, I suppose.

At all the community theaters I've been to there are hundreds of talented local girls just DYING to play Annie or one of the orphans. I know it's not Broadway, but there are girls out there who can sing, dance, and act in every community.

I am interested in seeing videos of Bailey playing Annie as I love "Annie." I'm going to see a local production next month.
