To add to the car discussion. I fully believe she will get a suburban or Yukon. Some large suv like all the other YouTube moms.

Sooooo a skincare routine from Elle. Bless her heart. About $600 worth of products(and who knows how much more on fillers and botox) to have skin like hers--any takers?

I hate to comment on one's appearance and generally avoid it, but unfortunately there is no averting it in this situation.
Her skin looks blotchy, wrinkled, and super oily to me. I know that genetics plays a role here, but I do not think her skincare routine is doing much for her. Her thumbnail says her skin is glowing; but that is not 'glowing' skin-- it is a greasy mess! She is layering on so many products and WAY too much oil. Also, 'clean' beauty...I think it is good to try to have quality ingredients but many of these 'clean' products can still wreak havoc on sensitive/reactive skin since they tend to contain essential oils for fragrance and heavy plant oils/butters. I think the term 'clean beauty' is more of a marketing ploy than anything else as there are no set standards across the industry.
I am a skincare junkie; but what I have learned over the years is that sometimes less is better (at least for me).

Is that really her morning routine? Seems so long and unnecessary. I know she doesn't have to leave the house to go to "work" but I stay home too and my morning routine is quick because I have to get the kids out the door. It looks very staged and something only you can do in a perfect morning where you don't have other things to do. Unless she wakes up at 5 am to get it done. Also, $600 worth of products? I know a lot of other serums, creams and essences that work well and don't cost as much.

$600 is a fair estimate. Her links aren’t all working in the description box, but from JUST the ones that do work it I added and it’s well over $450.

She must like spending that BALLER vet money.

I moved from Canada to SoCal so obviously cost of living is different, but my employer pays for my housing except a tiny stipend. My husband and I both work, only one small car payment, and together we make far more than Dan. And still there’s no way we could spend like she does. I honestly don’t know how she’s doing it. Ideas?

1) she’s digging herself into extreme debt
2) Dan had a hefty savings and she’s blowing through it
3) she’s suddenly come into a windfall of money from a deceased relative, etc.

Because there’s no way in hell her YT is doing well enough to support the thousands a month she spends on herself. Especially how much of those oils she’s slathering on (way more than you’re “supposed” to!!) she’s probably running out every month.

And I completely agree. I hate to nitpick her appearance, but since she’s trying to convince us she’s perfect and glowing I have less guilt saying she looks awful. Her face is SO puffy in the intro to the video, she always looks greasy and washed out with clown red cheeks. Her cosmetic procedures are backfiring and she actually looks OLDER than she really is.

Most of all, as always, she’s trying way too hard.

@Skinnie your first sentence killed me.

@Teachit I also questioned earlier where all this money is coming from. I haven’t seen much sponsored content from her lately. The views are nothing substantial. Did Dan recently make partner/get a significant raise or like you said, is she draining through his savings?

It wasn’t long ago that she made a budgeting video. She said the only debt they have is their car payments for her car and a mortgage. Maybe they paid off the mortgage and they have an extra $3000 a month to play with? But I highly doubt this. They haven’t lived in that house that long.

She spends a lot of money. And not just for someone who calls themselves a minimalist. She spends a lot for a woman who just spends a lot. On herself.

I treat myself to things here and there. But I splurge on the people in my life. That’s the thing. She is so dang restrictive with treating her kids and Dan. Who remembers that gift she gave him of the free swag she got. Insert eye roll.

Someone on the YT comments compared Elle to the American Psycho skincare scene. I'm dying .

I so agree with you TeachIT. Elle is spending so recklessly even let's say she makes at least 60k a year on YT and that estimate is being very very generous. I hope poor Dan doesn't get financially ruined because of her.

Maybe she writes her skincare off as a business expense...cause her looks are important to her career, you know? She is basically a Hollywood starlet :?

Probably $ from Dan's savings... unless every cent she makes goes directly to her shopping addiction. This lady is high maintenance. Her $600 routine does not even include: cosmetic procedures, a cleanser, make-up, body care, hair care, or fragrance (but there was a $160 perfume in the basket)... I would love to know what HER expenses are compared to that of the other family members... She definitely seems to get the bulk of any budget.

HAHAHAHAHAHA comparing her routine to the American psycho routine is so spot on! I’m dead! I tallied up here links.. $575.24! Wow. Just wow. How is this happening? Why is she ok with her reckless spending? Why is Dan ok with her reckless spending? I hope by her continuing to share her obscene spending with her viewers, that she alienated herself from them and then in turn destroys her own “career”

I can see ELLE buying an Infiniti QX series. The QX80 is expensive enough for her spending habits.

Chef Bozo I’m dying, she looked so ridiculous in that cookie video.

Remember awhile back someone here pointed out that they thought Joanna (nesting story) and Amanda Muse didn’t like Elle and when Elle “discovered” this page, she went off about how they are in fact her friends but because they live further apart they don’t see one another.

I don’t think since then there’s been one collab or mention of each other. There was even an awkward insta video once where she was with them and pointed out how people were saying those things about the girls not liking her and it was soooo awkward. You could read on their faces that it was true.

Anyhow I would like to point out that Amanda Muse threw a Christmas party for her friends in the industry and Elle was not there. I doubt she got an invite.

She’s already on Instagram polling people as to why her view count is down in her fabulous skin care routine video 😂

I'm thinking Elle is unlikable, cringey and needy in real life that's why Amanda Muse and company distanced themselves from her. Her videos really comes across like she's acting and putting up a front. In reality, it's probably 10x worse.

I guess nobody like the skin care video. But Elle said eVeRyOnE requested her to do it guys! looking back at the comments on that video, a few people are questioning and correcting her with the things she said. Another sign of her fakery.

I think the reality is people don’t want exhaustive skincare routines. People want just a small handful of affordable/realistic products that are going to be great for their skin. That is why the video is “not performing well.” Not to mention, she has done skincare routine videos for other products as well, claiming that they’re the best and life-changing etc. But you never see them in her bathroom or hear her talk about them in other videos, and every so often there’s an updated routine with a new line of products. She kills her own credibility.

Could I go out and spend $600 on skincare products? Sure. Would I, though? No. I’d rather use $600 to put tires on my car or, I don’t know, give my kids a nice Christmas. The pool of viewers who can drop that kind of money on skincare is small. The pool of viewers who can and actually would drop that kind of money on skincare is even smaller. Would I spend $100 and only 5 minutes a day? Absolutely. Show me that skincare routine.

I think Elle is completely closed off to the way trends are headed. She has hitched herself to this “sustainable living” bandwagon, but she doesn’t realize that more and more people are looking at things like $4000 handbags or $600 skincare routines as being incredibly privileged and - gasp - tacky.

THIS!!!!!

You hit the nail on the head, I could absolutely go out and spend $600 on skincare, but truthfully, I would NEVER spend $600 on random skincare items that aren’t even from the same brand.. if a dermatologist recommended specific skincare items to me and it totalled $600, I would *maybe* consider it. Honestly, I value a good skincare routine, and my current products total approx $385, however, they were dermatologist recommended and purchased in his clinic, all from the same brand and they last 6-9 months! And that’s a push, morally and ethically, for me. Tacky is the absolute BEST way to describe the overpriced bags and products she throws money at. Irresponsible and tacky.

Yep, Margie, I’m with you. I have dropped obscene amounts of money for skincare in the past(pre-kids). I have since found that a few good quality products produce better results: an excellently formulated cleanser is my holy grail; and in addition to that occasional retinol treatment product...sometimes I will add in a mask or exfoliant depending on my skin’s needs. If Elle’s skin was amazing and the products were of premium quality I certainly would not be the one to gripe.
