So basically youtube was sued for millions because they were doing targeted ads toward kids. So now before they upload a video they have to check a box that they only give them 2 options..For Kids (in which they will not get paid for) or Not for kids (in which if they find anything for or about kids they can sue the channel owner for thousands) the problem is they didn't give them a middle ground. none of the mom youtubers or craft youtubers have anything bad that kids cant watch. Its all crazy and all youtubers (art channels, craft channels, mom channels are all on pins and needles)blairflowers79 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 02, 2020 9:18 pm Can anyone explain the coppa thing to me in simple terms? Re: Aaryn Williams: Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo, Skyla is the favorite, hell with the other two! Part #39
At the end of the day she doesn’t owe anyone a damn thing. She’s not obligated to put everything she or her family does out there for the world to see. Nobody is paying to watch her channel, and people are free to unsubscribe or simply stop watching if they’re unhappy with the content. I don’t know how anyone complains that a YouTuber isn’t giving up enough of their privacy.telle0x wrote:I thought it was entitled and tacky the way she complained about having to take criticism, and also blatantly stating that she didn’t post their Christmas because she couldn’t monetize it so it wasn’t worth it.
I could care less about seeing her Christmas, IMO that should be a family time, but it seems like a huge middle finger to her followers who DO care for her to go “eh, I could have edited it to comply with COPPA, but I couldn’t be arsed”
She does seem burnt out and sad though, which as a mom, a do have empathy for

I find nothing wrong whatsoever with choosing not to share something due to privacy reasons. I found it tasteless the way she basically said she wouldn’t rake in enough dough, therefore she didn’t bother.
I mean, I wouldn’t work for free either, but I wouldn’t shove it in people’s faces.

Well the secret is out, they are moving. Now we know why she hasn’t been on social media. I had a feeling there was a reason but I really wanted to give her the benefit of doubt. I will give her points for actually seeming real in the q&a instead of her typical bullshit she thinks were stupid enough to buy. Unfortunately I gotta subtract a few of those points for her makeup. Did she let the girls apply it or what??? She looked like a clown, I don’t know what she was thinking with that mess of a lipstick. Rough to say the least. Lol she needs to lose the beauty pageant hair, she would look so good with a shorter more modern cut. I get she likes it long but you can keep some length and still look good. Same with Tman she looks so much better without the extensions and the longer bob she had before. To each their own I guess

Oops I didn’t even see this when I posted the video that explains what is going on. Thank you and you explained it very very well. A lot of ppl think YouTube just have to mark their videos “for kids” and everything is the same and it’s not. You mark “for kids” and it’s pretty much a catch 22. They are complying but still getting raked across the coals, monetary wise it seems.
Also I apologize in advance for any typos I have a new phone and this thing is going to be the death of me lol

What you said was that the lack of a Christmas video “seems like a huge middle finger” to those who do care about seeing such a video from her. I was simply addressing that comment, as well as the idea that it’s somehow rude of her to say she didn’t feel it was worth the time or effort to make yet another free video for people’s viewing pleasure. Even though some people like to say she doesn’t work I’m sure quite a bit of effort goes into reviewing and editing several hours of footage down to a 20 minute video.telle0x wrote:If you actually read my comment, you would see I am agreeing with you.DariaSnark wrote:At the end of the day she doesn’t owe anyone a damn thing. And if that’s how she felt about it why shouldn’t she be honest? If she had lied or made excuses she would be criticized for that too. People gripe that she’s not being “real”, then when she’s actually candid about something she gets slammed for “complaining” or being “rude”.

I’m kinda tempted to drive to goodwill in dripping springs and see what she’s dropped off. Maybe I can snag a tutu du monde dress

Her makeup and hair look fine to me, well put together and not all over the place like some of these other YouTubers. Im glad shes finally waking up and seeing the light when it comes to spending time with her family and living in the moment instead of shoving a camera in their face. Realizing that taking younger kids to Disney is a waste of time and money when she can wait til their older which I agree with because that’s exactly what I’m doing with my kids.

I was really surprised watching her latest q&a as well. For her to be honest about the realities of YouTube and family vlogging was very good, not something we hear from too many on YT. Also, good to hear her taking a more thoughtful perspective on baby #4 now.
What I do like about Aaryn is you can tell she really loves her husband, kids and family. She prioritizes them, even though she does spoil them with overspending.
I also do like her look, how she kind of has own style with clothes and makeup, as well as some of her home decor and doesn't akways follow the trends. I wonder if her new house will reflect that, or if it will be another white washed "my Texas house" carbon copy. I hope not.

Thanks for posting this - this was really helpful for understanding everything. It seems unfair that if a creator makes even one video that seems remotely interesting to kids and their entire channel is not only demonetized but comments are turned off, it's unsearchable and people can't even get notifications for it. I understand why Aaryn and others are being so careful. I noticed that some of her past Christmas vlogs are down and she mentioned in her latest video that she made them private for this reason. It seems like Youtube is basically going to have zero family friendly channels left which kind of sucks... it's all going to be like Sesame Street stuff and then strictly adult content.vandelynn wrote: ↑Fri Jan 03, 2020 5:28 amI don’t even watch this channel but they seemed to explain it in a way It was easy to understand.blairflowers79 wrote:Can anyone explain the coppa thing to me in simple terms? I have to agree with some of the other comments here regarding the Q&A - I liked it and she does seem way more real than most of the other Moms bunched in her category here. She also hit it NAIL ON THE HEAD when she was describing not feeling 'excited' about things anymore when you have kids. It's something I've been feeling but never actually thought about specifically enough to put into words.
The Disney thing too, good she admits that taking younger children is too stressful and a waste of money. She should have told that to Tiffani Beaston before she took her clan!

I don’t have anything critical to stay about the Q&A. I feel like she showed a lot of self-awareness and was honest answering each question

Airbag, Blanche Devereaux called and wants her shirt back. While you’re on your way there drop your platform sandals off in the 90's
She spends enough money on clothes and apparently has enough disposable income at her fingertips that she could have an amazing wardrobe!! As long as someone else picks it out lol At least her try ons never disappoint, their like a car crash, you know it's bad but you just can't look away

I didn’t mind this Q&A at all. I’m interested to see what their “forever home” looks like and where it’s located. Hopefully for their sake Nick is closer to work, which will mean he’s closer to home more often. It’s nice to see she is considering maybe 3 kids is enough. I always thought Nick was such an ass for arbitrarily deciding he needed 4 kids but then proceeds to be the father gone sun up to sun down 5 days a week. It just means less dad for everyone and regardless of how blessed Aaryn is with money and the ability to hire help, 3 kids so close in age already sounds crazy to me. Good on anyone who can manage a household like hers, I know there are moms out there who can, but I don’t blame anyone for being like “hell no” because I’m in that camp 100%. I could not do it! As fun as watching her shit show is I do have respect for her pulling back. It’s the most mature and respectful decision for her family she has considered. She is approaching 30, maybe she’s a late bloomer on maturity and not a total narcissist. I mean, she has everything most of these YT moms want, and she is clearly no happier than any of them. Maybe she’s figured out she doesn’t need to prove anything anymore? Let’s see what Aaryn 2020 brings.
