Oh Boo I knew that. Lol. I was just stating it was a joke to have Audible be a sponsor. As far as I've seen the only one who really reads and devours books is Pearl. Perhaps "Hooked on Phonics" should be their next target sponsorship.SNT41007 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 01, 2020 5:26 pmPlease. Audible did not seek these people out. Megan has to be on some vlogger websites looking for places that offer "Sponsorships" and SHE reaches out to THEM. Even you right now can go to www.audible.com and sign up to get your own www.audible.com/(your personalized link) and then anyone that signs up for a trial membership thru your link, they give you $15. So, in theory, you can start a youtube channel right this moment and then say that this FIRST video is "sponsored by audible." She just tries to puff up those feathers......she needs to get a grip.ITSMYOPINION wrote: ↑Tue Dec 31, 2019 7:32 pm And being sponsored by Audible is the biggest joke so far. But I guess if you are too lazy to teach your children to read just play the book!
Public schooling is so awful so let's get an amazon echo and have Alexa be the parent oops I meant the teacher. The futures of those children is getting bleaker with each video. I hope something changes in 2020!!!!!!

Re: Knorpp and South: Manic Megan’s Pinterest Palace | Part 2
i found their videos today and watched their vlog from christmas and was shocked at how poorly their children are reading. then i watched their unschooling video and suddenly it all made sense. how is what they are doing legal? i genuinely cannot imagine having no requirements for children when it comes to learning. sure, you might not use everything you learn in life, but it's designed to teach critical thinking skills, something the entire family seems to lack.
what really stuck out to me is when she said that there isn't anything she liked about public school. really?? not one single thing. she also acts like children who are in school (or homeschooled with curriculum) only ever learn in school, while they have freedom to learn everywhere and that is just not how life works. in fact, most children are involved in activities that interest them where they learn new things everyday, unlike her children. lastly, she talks about how unschooling compared to other methods, creates innovators. i think most people are either in school or homeschooled with some form of curriculum. doesn't that mean that almost everyone who is innovating had some form of structured learning?
sorry if i am a little off topic, i'm just trying to get caught up with this bizarre family. i was also wondering if they are comment deleters? i haven't seen any negative comments on their unschooling video and i think the things they were saying was worthy of a lot of criticism.

Wait, so the only pieces of furniture in Peter and Asher's room were their two beds and a dresser? That is horrible. They have so much money, all the other kids have nice rooms, why wouldn't Megan make their room nice?

All the boys have a lack of homey looking rooms. Esther and Pearl, and Eve and Jude have rooms that at least look lived in.
For as much shit as Meggers collects used after prying them from someone's cold, dead corpse, you'd think those rooms would be filled.

Oh she's 100% open in her rantings saying that if you say negative things....you are DELETED and BLOCKED. No tolerance for a differencing of opinion allowed. Wait a minute...isn't there a term for that?? Oh. yes. BIGOT.NarcoelpsyMom wrote: ↑Fri Jan 03, 2020 12:38 amYes, yes they are. Reading these comments on their packing video. everyone from there or who has been there is commenting about the lack of security and the amount of crime/theft/danger there. They are going to have targets on their back for SURE. Go read all the comments like this:
"I have traveled to Peru at least 6 times, safety is #1. NO Jewelry and nothing valuable visible, that means wedding rings, etc. Passports, credit cards, anything monetary should be put in a fannypack and hidden from view. Sorry for this information, but the trip is awesome, especially Machu Picchu. Peru is not like traveling to Europe, you have to be aware of your surroundings, because there are dangerous areas and not just pick pocketers, but people will just rip the bags or jewelry right off of you. Please have a safe and enjoyable trip."
So, no puff ball earrings for Meggers!!?? Peru is not like traveling to Europe...so lets take 8 kids, most of which we don't have control over. 4 of which have special needs and will likely fall being the pack...it's all good. WTG Knorpps. Why can't they do normal shit like Disney sometimes.

I watched the Peru backpack episode. This couple hemorrhages money —- Old girl can’t drive pass a ReStore or a Costco without making daily purchases YET they don’t want to pay for carry-ons? So they’re going to have the children stuff three climates worth of clothing into medium-sized bookbags along with their electronics and Mormon books. It’s not easy to wash clothing in Peru. Is she going to have the Girls hand wash them in a hotel sink and leave out to dry? These people. Why did YouTube’s algorithm have to introduce this into my life.

People were commenting to bring your own toilet paper because a lot of bathrooms must not have any. So if that's true, just where do they expect to find a coin laundromat? this family is so naive in their home country, with no true concern for their privacy...and they are going to a tourist-unfriendly country. I can't wait to watch.NYCtoNKY wrote: ↑Fri Jan 03, 2020 7:15 pm I watched the Peru backpack episode. I'm a little late on this one (had to catch up after the holidays lol) but in terms of Mike getting a pilot license, for context; a private pilots license (for small planes, like 2 - 4 seats) its a lot of studying, it's a time commitment, and it's VERY expensive, but it's doable. A lot of my friends in college were in the aviation program, most of them had their private before they started college. it's like ~60 hours flight time, along with two high school semesters of ground school (for the ones who did it in hs, not sure how long it would take out of hs)
very expensive though. around 10,000 for just the private license if you don't have any assistance; did not envy those kids student loans when they finished all their ratings

honest to god though disney is great when you have a ton of kids, especially special needs. if you lose your child, they'll find them asap. my only guess is, maybe it's too high sensory for eve?

Every state has different homeschool requirements. North Carolina is considered “homeschool friendly” and they have lenient laws. If they’re not flying under the radar/homeschooling illegally, then they will report to the district that they’re homeschooling their children. Only children age 7 through 16 are required to attend some sort of school, whether public or at home. They’re also required to take and keep track of attendance, having consistent attendance 9 months of the year with “reasonable” breaks and vacations. Finally, the children are supposed to be taking a state approved standardized test each year. The test results don’t need to be shared with anyone, but they need to be kept on file in case they’re audited.lefargen97 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 02, 2020 10:06 pm i found their videos today and watched their vlog from christmas and was shocked at how poorly their children are reading. then i watched their unschooling video and suddenly it all made sense. how is what they are doing legal?
I know several families who unschool and it looks a whole lot different than what this family is doing... unschooling should be MORE time consuming for the educator if you’re doing it right. Interest-led learning is great and all, but imagine hand tailoring an education for 9 children across the core subject areas based on each child’s different interests. Then go ahead and layer in special education needs, English as a second language for several of them, past trauma, inconsistent parenting and living arrangements, etc... and viola!

Another vlog I just started watching is Leave Everything and Wander (LeWa). One of their latest vlogs is their truck camper being ransacked and everything of value having been stolen in Peru- all their recording equipment, drones, phones, etc.
Megan thinks they can just road trip across the country with everything they bring in the van. Even if she’s been warned not to flash cash or wear jewelry, no one has earned her that carrying around expensive phones and cameras in hand is just as dangerous, and that some of these criminals will follow them and break into their vehicle at night or while they are away from it.
They think everywhere is just as safe as wandering around Disney World, and that crime is something that won’t happen to them.
I can just see the posts now “Traveling family of 11 is robbed at knife point”. “Our van was broken into, but essential oils saved us!”
These asshats need to understand the safety needs of their children. I don’t think I would feel comfortable with just adults to worry about. I would go nuts worrying about kids that can’t keep up. Megan and Mike often “lead the way”, leaving their ducklings to follow behind. That is going to be extremely dangerous for the kids. I’m sure the pocket knife one of the kids is bringing is their answer to safety.
I can just see Andrew being Andrew and jumping in with a 2” pocket knife to defend everyone with his inflated sense of self worth, thinking he’s going to somehow save the day.

I've decided that this trip will be considered a success if the US Embassy doesn't need to get involved to extract them from the country.

Re: Knorpp and South: Manic Megan’s Pinterest Palace | Part 2
These two are English as a second or third language. I think I read that they are from Italy. I found their vlogs just yesterday or Thursday looking for truck camper remodels, so this is only the 3rd one I have watched.
There is a lot of naïveté in some of these travelers. Another one I saw was a husband and wife traveling in Spain in a converted van. They left it unlocked to take their dog for a quick walk, and in that amount of time, someone who must have been watching them, got in and out with expensive drones, phones, and camera gear. Then those asshats tried getting it back by using the find my phone, and knocked on the door of some random person with no thought to personal safety.
I know one family that only travels in the US, but has outdoor security cameras on all 4 sides of their trailer with motion sensitive detection that sends messages to their phones any time it’s triggered. They did that after a holiday wreath was taken from the door of their camper.
I want to travel someday like that, probably US only, but I have learned a LOT from these dumbasses on what NOT to do.
One family I follow is really cautious about when they post about locations online. They travel full time with a preschooler and a toddler. They don’t post where they are until they have left for the next location. Their videos on YouTube are about 6 weeks behind on purpose. On SM, they might post that it’s a travel day, but they don’t go into specifics about where they are at, where they are headed, or they post outdated video and pics. The have never had a bad experience. I look at families like the Knorrps who are extremely lackadaisical in hiding their house addresses, and who post minute by minute updates to social media about where they are and just shake my head.
