People call her out because she preaches and portrays a life that is normally unattainable and yet tells the same audience she can't afford to see Grandma. I agree that online commenters should be nicer but they do have a right to question things from her since she's the one pumping out the obvious contradictions. Calling that out on her comments is not hating. She is using the "nobody is perfect" route to gain sympathy. She is so dense for not seeing this. She love to say that she wants to be authentic and not show off how awesome her life is but yet she goes on super expensive shopping sprees/unnecessary work travel/leasing luxury a vehicle/vintage handbag shopping that still cost thousands of dollars. Telling your audience to be minimal and mindful but she is doing the opposite is THE BIG PROBLEM. I'm glad you are being "intentional" this year Elle, but I don't feel sorry that you flaunted your spending and got flack for it.

Lmao at the thread getting deleted about the divorce speculation. It appears she’s hearing what people are dishing out.

Here’s the thing....her biggest problem is that she’s a hypocrite. If she said I like nice things, and I can afford it-no one would bat an eye. But she talks about being mindful and shopping secondhand-but only when it’s convenient or for content.

I honestly think she believed this third baby would change a lot of things: grow her channel, improve her marriage, bring her inner peace, give her the girl she’s always wanted...and instead it’s given her none of those things and she’s slowly spiralling.

I’d respect her a lot more of she was honest and less of a hypocrite. If you don’t feel you owe it to your audience to be honest then get off YouTube. You already don’t treat it like a job with your lazy posting schedule.

Let’s pretend this is her job.

If you promise a client you’ll have their presentation done on Thursday, you can’t just not deliver and not even bother to explain why. You’d lose the job.

If you promise your boss that the report will be done Thursday and then just don’t send it or explain why, you’ll get reprimanded. Repeated offenses and you’ll be fired.

No wonder she doesn’t have a real job

I think that's why she is flaky and she can't deliver when the feedback of her work is less than stellar. Elle seems to be confusing the validation with her self worth. She's more than her YouTube and IG but I'm not so sure she's aware of that.

EXACTLY. She ties all of her value into things she can’t control, like how many views she’s getting or how positive the comments are. She SHOULD be concerned with things she can control. What type of childhood is she giving her kids behind the scenes? How consistent is SHE working on her channel? What hobbies and habits is she growing for herself when the camera is off?

But you know, I don’t think she really has much of a life off camera. I think what we see is what there is. Her hobbies are shopping and obsessing about what other people think about her. Her parenting includes ignoring the kids or dumping them on other people, or them sitting and watching TV while she cleans her house for IG aesthetic. No colorful toys and no messy crafts. And I don’t think she does much YT work daily... she has other people filming and editing some of her videos, and the ones she does herself aren’t well planned or edited.

Hahahaha YES!!! I actually thought to myself “ew how tacky” I would 100% judge a mom who showed up to any birthday party with a brand new vehicle and giant gaudy obviously LV bag, yet gifted the birthday child with an unpackaged thrifted toy. It’s glaringly obvious how highly she thinks of herself yet how little she thinks and cares about others. I’m in the middle of reading a book, which is by a Christian woman, and one part mentions something along the lines of how we give cast off items to charity because they are no longer good enough for us, but we somehow think they are ok for people with less, and she basically calls out the fact that most of us have excess stuff, excess money, and we still can’t give properly to the needy, we somehow think of them as less when we should think of them as deserving what we feel we deserve. It’s a great book, Christian or not, but it certainly highlights how very very flawed most christians are. I should recommend it to Elle....

I just had to laugh at her Instagram post, it was so clearly written to us. So Elle, if you don’t like what we have to say here you have two options:
1. Stop reading here
2. Stop censoring your comment section so heavily that we are forced over here to talk behind your back. We have all been cast away by you deleting our comments and blocking our main accounts. We would happily say this shit to your face... we’ve all tried!

If Elle is so concerned with her YouTube channel that she’s gone on two “business” trips this last month, maybe she should start with YouTube 101: be consistent. And there’s been no reason her erratic posting schedule. It’s not like her tbh. She used to be pretty regular and if she wasn’t, she would post the night before.

She’s no longer doing the early morning posts on Instagram either where she does her workout/tea/bible colouring. She also seems to really care what people are saying about her but not in a hmm maybe they’re onto something way. But more defensive.

I do suspect more than just her sick dog is going on behind the scenes. Because she is off. She doesn’t even seem that excited to have a baby. It’s like the newness has worn off. Notice she never talks about breastfeeding either.

Omg yes, you nailed all these points. She doesn’t realize what an open book she is, how her little actions actually speaks loud and clear who she is, what she’s thinking, etc She’s beyond predictable as well. She likes to reply with “you only see 10 percent of my daily life” but you can’t hide what we’ve all seen over the years. She can hide her Thursday burger and beef gravy Ubereats with Veronica all she wants, we see right through her.

I can’t wait until January is over and she can stop talking about her goals for the year and self love. Just spill the tea on your divorce already! The 209k subscribers are waiting !

You’re so right on all of this! I bet her morning routine has completely changed because Dan doesn’t live at home anymore. And she’ll probably post on Blankets next update vlog that her divorce stress caused her supply to drop.

If it’s not divorce it’s something. I wonder if she had a falling out with Dans parents, now causing home stress. Hence her MiL videos gone. Dans videos are still up, but his moms story is gone.

I’m not going to lie, if she was going through a divorce, she would be way more interesting. Especially if she shared the journey into single motherhood. I would genuinely watch that and be interested! I just doubt she would be able to share so openly about the struggles. It’s against her very nature, but that’s the shit people want to see!

After watching Elle’s stories today, I’m convinced she nor Veronica have set foot in a Walmart in years. I bought my winter coat from Walmart and I paid $70 for it and legit thought I had won the lottery, when I told my sister you could buy adult jackets there for $70 she was so impressed she went and got herself a new one as well! Also worth noting, that was the first jacket I had purchased for myself in 13 years...something else Elle doesn’t know is possible
I feel like $75 for a plus sized coat is a great deal! Especially when the anthropology coat is $232 and the free people coat is $168. Elle, you saved yourself at least $100, what more could you possibly want from such unethical clothing?! The less you pay, the less the third world workers earn you self righteous dumbass.

What the heck was the point of her going to these expensive trips to grow her channel of she's not making videos?

Imagine Elle promising her boss that she'll get something done on Thursday but instead she sent an email complaining that Jan from Accounting wanted to clarify her receipt for reimbursement and Elle was too upset to meet the deadline.

Oh and $70 is regular Walmart price for a coat. It's a steal compared to thousand dollar coats which seems to be like a norm nowadays. I also did buy a coat recently because my fave one from the Gap bought in 2008 had a giant hole in it. But meh I'm sure Elle can't relate, she buys a new one for every season. I thought she also mentioned a while back that she bought a winter coat a few months ago, not the leopard Walmart one.

Maybe she spent like crazy last year because she wants to get the most things off her shared back account with Dan before the divorce. It's a stretch I know, but I think honestly we just can't comprehend how someone like Elle throws money away so easily on herself.

The coat is hideous.

$70 for coat is crazy to her, but $200 on leggings isn’t Maybe because I’m a US transplant in SoCal, but even people here (where it’s rarely even cold) invest in good coats.

I think it’s just her attempt to seem relatable and not so uppity/brand addicted.
