Most of you have suggested it was probably unsafe sleep practices, which is definitely possible. I honestly don’t think he rolled off her bed at 3 months old. He had just turned 3 months old a week or so before Christmas. Unless she had posted video evidence in vlogs that showed him rolling, it seems unlikely to me.
My main theory is he was either in his car seat or on an adult bed & one of the other little kids found him & put a blanket over him to attempt to be sweet & tuck him in. That would be a huge reason as to why she isn’t sharing how he died. Her other kids would have to grow up with guilt knowing one of them killed their baby brother even though they didn’t mean to do it.
Babies that young can definitely roll. The AAP actually advises that babies not be swaddled past 8 weeks due to risk of rolling and suffocating.
ETA: I don’t think he rolled his way off the bed but it’s possible.. more likely he just rolled onto his face, or wedged himself somewhere
Yes that’s what I meant, not rolling off the bed completely. He definitely could’ve gotten wedged somewhere.
That’s what I’m thinking happened, I doubt he was rolling, she would have shared that stuff in vlogs/insta stories and I’ve never seen that. He maybe tried to roll and got
Half way and possibly a pillow being there to prevent rolling off the bed and maybe suffocated do to that.
It’s definitely widely speculated that he was probably on an adult bed, without a baby monitor and probably a blanket since I know she’s used blankets before and something happened within the situation.
But hey we could all be wrong.
As stated before I would hope she would share her story just to simply get the word out there for other mothers who think oh my baby is fine with a blanket, or oh just lay him on an adult bed when not home, whatever the reason I’m sure is something other parents have done without thinking about the consequences.
