I remember one video where Elle was explaining that she got her self-image and self-esteem from other people rather than it coming from within herself, and she acted like she had had a huge breakthrough by realizing that her happiness needed to come from within instead of from without. But clearly, Elle is still deeply unhappy with most things in her life and needs external validation to try to feel good about herself. And that is her entire YouTube channel. She tries to live an Instagram-perfect life where everything is a photo op and every day is a dream while talking about "keeping it real" but actually only portraying a curated image of who she wants to be. Everything she does is for external validation, and that's why she can't produce any other content.

You know what would be great content? If Elle admitted this to her viewers and tried to really relate to those who are in the same position. I'm a new mom and I'm having a difficult time adjusting and I would love it if I could watch a mother admit her struggles. Elle, just sit down and tell viewers what's really going through your mind. It's okay, I promise. No moms on YouTube or elsewhere are just breezing through life and living the dream, and those who seem to may be the ones who are struggling the most. Also, it's okay that you're not a minimalist and that you use shopping as therapy. Just admit that too! Everyone has different coping mechanisms. No one wants to watch a channel that's an obvious copycat of other YouTubers, but we do want to see a REAL woman and get insight into what's actually going on in your life.
