No kidding. Cerebral edema, anyone? Pulmonary edema? I actually know someone who died of altitude sickness climbing Denali. Granted, they were at even higher altitudes, but still. It _can_ be very serious.
Willful ignorance makes me so angry. It's not as though they have no resources. They earn a living on the internet ffs.

PPl are dead on Mount Everest cause of altitude sickness.
I believe this is why so many crazy ppl do crazy things in Colorado (also explains Tawra and Mike) low oxygen.

I’ve had some weird middle of nowhere lunches while travelling but when I did I was a solo backpacker in my 20s not parents with 8 kids. PLAN AHEAD that’s just common sense when you have kids.

They were in cities buy a bunch of snacks with a bit of substance. Like even a bunch of carb heavy granola bars are going to be more filling and will feel more like lunch than saltines and oranges.

They never turned around! They went higher then once they got over the mountain they started to descend then they went higher again! They are FUCKING idiots. They put their children in danger!!! But FUCKING peppermint oil is a cure all for altitude sickness! Ester and Eve’s lips turned BLUE!!!! Someone call the authorities please!

Ann Curry got altitude sickness when she did a piece for the Today Show. The show did not disclose just how bad it was until she was back and recovered. She was in bad shape for awhile - and she trained to do it!!!

Those children could really be in danger!!!

Megan at the end kept insisting it was fine 'if it weren't for the kids' 'oh it's a great thing to do if you don't have kids'
But, you realise you DO have kids, right? And you had kids when you were planning this trip?

She drives me insane, Mike was obviously trying to tell it as it is and she kept trying to 'bright side' things. No, you messed up. Who takes their young kids who are completely sheltered and uneducated on a trip like this anyway? They seemed so unimpressed last video like 'we're up here for what? To look at lines in sand?' And now they're going miles in the sky to look at more stuff the kids won't be interested in...

The only part of the trip the kids seem happy during is when they're sitting on beds playing D&D.

PLEASE take them to Disney or Universal, PLEASE. At least they'll have fun and be surrounded by food they can eat whenever they're hungry.

And she was naive enough to tell the world her kids almost died bc their lips were blue. I feel like I can't even be part of watching this anymore, as it sounds like child abuse. Could have been prevented.

As I said before if these kids are constantly seeing ppl going gaga over Megan and Mike and they see the "PARENTING" Vlog.
The have the impression that Megan and Mike are PARENTING EXPERTS, and will push down their intuitions about feeling
something isnt right here and thus they arent able to advocate for themselves.
At the same time outsiders, in passing, will see Megan and Mikes VLOG and think they are fabulous parents and any beef from
watchdogs are "just jealousy" or worse, one of the kids could be labeled a TROUBLEMAKER (gaslighting).
Someone or some agency needs to create a way to diagnose and legislate laws that stop narcissism in parenting.

Megan was actually passing around peppermint essential oil...not candy. Which may actually help with simple nausea or at least work as a placebo. But you know what is actually also SCIENTIFICALLY PROVEN to reduce nausea? Sniffing an alcohol prep pad (those tiny cleaning squares at the hospital) for a few seconds. So her magical oils aren’t shit. And they sure didn’t help in this situation with half the kids profusely vomiting and some literally turning blue.

Megan sits there and plays dumb acting like this isn’t information you can just look up and read about. I call bullshit. Mike has proved 15 times this trip that he didn’t research well. I don’t care if that’s his “bread and butter”. He sucks at it. Why in the hell would you not pack some sandwiches before leaving a town when you aren’t sure if you’ll find decent food again? Major fail. But this will go down in Megan’s book as a “family folklore” that they will all look back lovingly upon. Yeah right. Pretty crazy they’ve already had to cancel half the trip itinerary due to poor planning.

I just don’t understand. I live in Northern Ireland and my sister lives in England. Even when I was going to stay with her, when my kids were younger, I would bring a whole range of snacks from home because I could never be sure that we would get the things they liked in the supermarkets local to her!
Who sets out on a day long trip through the mountains without a supply of good and more importantly, drinks. What if there was a breakdown, or they got caught on an impassable road or...whatever other possibilities there are? They were so poorly prepared for such a journey! It’s ridiculous!
I was actually seriously worried that Esther and Eve looked so poorly. We know they are probably not up to date with health checks. Children with Down Syndrome can often have heart issues which could have gone undetected with their policy with doctors. Esther and Pearl have spinal issues which could compromise their breathing. I’m actually beyond knowing what to say.
These guys are completely clueless! They clearly have no idea what it takes to travel. Mike seems completely worn out. None of them seem happy

Jeez. I didn't even think about Eve's heart. You're absolutely right that she could have issues that they don't know about. And poor Esther could have some reduced lung capacity from her scoliosis. I know it's not as bad as Pearl's but it can definitely interfere with breathing.
They really are just the worst.
