LOTS of comments are gone now, even the one I quoted earlier from my new bestie Lois.

Megan is also firing back at comments and saying things like they are well aware of their kids complex medical histories and they were never in any danger.

@Knorpp and South I'm happy they are. It's still terrifying to see visual cues of lack of oxygen and continue on in an area with no emergency facilities.

Rebecca - we knew we were on a mountain and that we would go down into a valley again. We knew the elevation of the town we were staying in and how long it would be before we got there. Turning around would only delay the inevitable but if we had felt that the situation was warranting that we would have immediately done so."

If we felt the situation was warranted?? What did someone need to do, drop into a seizure? And she also insists that NONE of her children have heart conditions.

I smell a "responding to the haters" video. Bring on the hot pink lipstick and puff ball earrings...

Then there is this comment string...check out Knorpps answer...

Eve is miserable with traveling. Would it not better to leave her home with relatives. It's not that you love her less, it would show that you love her more.

I've read where it is hard for down syndrome kids to get out of a routine they are used to. And this trip must be super stressful for her. It would have been better to have left her with their cousins at home.

It’s good for Eve to learn to adjust to new ideas, new routines, and new challenges. We think traveling is helping her become the dynamic individual she is."

Okay, here is my response to this as a special needs parent. I am aware and educated on my childs abilities and limitations. It's not good for Eve to be challenged like this physically. People with DS have low muscle tone. It's like asking a typical child to complete a marathon. I mean, you wouldn't take a wheelchair bound child and expect them to swim in the ocean and then claim it's good for them to have new challenges....it's life threatening. This idiots are complete bonkers.

My daughter has special needs as well. And yes, challenges are good, WITHIN LIMITS. They need routines, and she needs to know the limits of Eve's endurance. She obviously doesn't.
Megan is freaking clueless.

The comment is:

“It kind of feels like the only planning that went into this trip was what tourists locations to go to along the way. There were a lot of people warning you in the comments about altitude sickness before you left on the trip. I realize you get a lot of comments and likely don’t see them all, but surely you saw some. Please consider that there is more to traveling than just what sits you will see along the way. Peppermint is great for upset bellies- it does nothing to help Esther get more oxygen into her system, though. Your family is very lucky no one experienced worse symptoms. With everyone stuck out in the middle of nowhere, it could have been a much worse outcome with no immediate medical care. Please take heed when planning vacations to find out more than where tourists go.”

I think I remember them addressing Eve’s heart in their Meet Eve video or something. She said that while it is common, they’re fortunate that Eve has a healthy heart.

Regardless... this trip has been a clusterFUCK. There’s no way Esther and Pearl’s backs have no effect on them. The spinal cord is literally the life blood of the body. If one pathway is compromised then vital body systems aren’t getting what they need, and as the other organs pick up the slack, your body is in a constant state of catchup and imbalance.

The altitude sickness could have been completely avoided had they, idk, slowed the hell down and actually enjoyed their time in Peru. Their kids are glued to screens for the entire thing anyway, so I doubt they are seeing much of Peru except when Megan uses her scenery buzzwords and prompts them to look up.

And as far as the “wait and see” attitude when it comes to feeding a herd of children... why? I get that it’s a small van for their family size, but she had room to buy a bag for her RUG, so why not get this new thing called a cooler? I mean, I guess at least they had empty stomachs while being oxygen starved and vomiting? 😑

Those kids went all that way to do exactly what they do at home, with the added layer of misery.

PPl are dead on Mount Everest cause of altitude sickness.
I believe this is why so many crazy ppl do crazy things in Colorado (also explains Tawra and Mike) low oxygen.

Obvi they didn’t take their peppermint oil with them.

But, you guys, if they’d left Eve back home with family, that just wouldn’t work for their image.

Quirky, big family ✔️
Mix race adoptions ✔️
Special needs family... oh, well, it HAS to be obvious.

Keep parading ‘em around Knorpps. You’re padding the social workers’ case file against yourselves.

Sure, everything is fine and dandy. A quick search reveals this:

Altitude sickness can affect your lungs and brain. When this happens, symptoms include being confused, not being able to walk straight (ataxia), feeling faint, and having blue or gray lips or fingernails. When you breathe, you may hear a sound like a paper bag being crumpled. These symptoms mean the condition is severe. It may be deadly.

Do you think she has a clue that sh3 coul$ have killed her kids????

That's exactly what we have been saying. And what if Mike got ataxia while driving the van full of kids on the windy road?
It really makes me so angry that they are so careless with their children's lives.

Starving while you stare at a tablet for 8 hours in a car, siblings throwing up on you, siblings almost dying next to you, they're all great memories for the kids to look back on! Haha, we're already laughing about it now!

They have seriously lost the plot, Manic Megan does not prepare for altitude sickness, vomit bags, oxygen, food... but she remembers to buy her rainbow trinkets along the way. She finds a way to shove her rug, extra bags but still does f*^% all for her kids sickness.

Oh look, more story updates about what Megan has bought. She just bought a purse for only $16! What a steal! Where TF is all this shit going in their backpacks. The poor kids are learning a lot on this trip for sure.....about their narcissistic mother and her shopping addiction. "things" won't make you happy Megan. FYI, a $16 purse is a fortune to pay in Peru, they see her coming AND going in this town.

She puts more thought into her “look”/accessories than how her children are fairing on this trip. Altitude sickness aside, I can’t imagine what a week of driving on bumpy roads must do to the girls with serious back issues. They have to be in so much pain!

They already have fucking backpacks stashed in between seats and on laps. They are going to need 4 new suitcases just for all of Megan’s shit.

I personally feel that Megan should retain the title "Manic Megan" for all further thread names and after this whole fiasco of a trip Mike should be included...How about "Manic Megan and Mustache Mike:Peddling Peppermint as Prophylaxis"
