Re: 8 Passengers :Private Schools and Public Humiliations | Part #14
Just watched the first few minutes of the latest vlog and I can't believe Ruby and Kevin. They're the reasons why Eve does whatever she wants to do and thinks she can get away with it. Instead of being parents and discipling her, they have a "chat" with her on camera and laugh about whatever she's done.
And putting part of this blame on the other kids? Seriously?! Those are Eve's siblings, NOT her parents. It's not their responsibility to make sure she's behaving and doing whatever she needs to do. And it's clearly obvious that Ruby was pressuring them to agree that the household has contributed to this problem Ruby and Kevin's ability to NEVER take accountability and responsibility for their own actions is insane.

The puppy will be crated while the kids are at school Ruby will take no responsibility for it. I am disappointed they got a dog. I hope if they mistreat the dog in any way thousands of people call them out. All dogs matter.Parktown wrote:They may have been hustled! That puppy is no pure breed! It is definitely not the breed Bonnie’s is but it is super cute nonetheless and definitely not a pup any more it is about 6 months old! I hope he doesn’t end up crated 24/7!

Re: 8 Passengers :Private Schools and Public Humiliations | Part #14
Did they mention the breed? They did seem quite surprised how big the dog was. Is it a Griffith's requirement that you have to buy a dog that costs more than a mortgage payment and must be flown in from another state? I have to admit that I am really looking forward to seeing the kids' excitement when they find out. Very rarely does Ruby surprise them something they actually want. I wonder who will be responsible for walks/grooming/training/feeding/etc. We know it won't be Eve! (Or Ruby). Guesses on the name? Will they do a poll to maximize their investment and and engagement?
Re: 8 Passengers :Private Schools and Public Humiliations | Part #14
Ruby said he is a cavapoo, and I believe Bonnie's Lady is a cavachon. Maybe they purposely got a slightly older dog so it was less trouble for them. We all know no one in that house is going to put the time in to take proper care of a puppy or train it.Kattiness Everdeen wrote: ↑Sun Feb 02, 2020 6:58 pmDid they mention the breed? That dog is going to be sent off to “training school” for a few weeks like Lady and Penny and they’re going to expect it to come back perfect docile, behaved, and crate trained. Of course she probably won’t come back perfectly trained bc that’s just not how you train a puppy, but I guarantee they’ll be over her in a few months. We never saw Nollie in her prime, she was always an older dog who was banished away. Won’t be able to do that with that breed and at such a young age. They better not plan on this being an outdoor dog like Nollie or limiting it to a single room in their house. They were horrible dog owners, as their whole family seems to be. Sucks the dog ended up with them.

I really feel bad for the animals in this household.
Correct me if I am wrong but wasn't Ruby against Julie having birds and then got them soon after?
and then Ruby was saying that they wouldn't have a dog in a very long time but couple vlogs later they are picking up puppy from airport?
Doesn't anyone else find it questionable that these people just go to airport (Bonnie did it too) to pick up puppies - they have no way to know if the dogs are product of puppy mill or from creditable breeders.
@ RUBY!!! ANIMALS are NOT objects. Please stop treating them like they are! Stop impulse-buying animals now that you ''won't'' buy clothes for yourself.

Blaming the siblings for their terrible parenting. It couldn't possibly be that Eve's issues in school and at home are because she's never been held accountable for her bad behavior...ever! Instead Ruby deflects Eve's behavior issues onto the older kids, of course its their fault, because nothing is Ruby's (or Eve's) fault, ever. On to the next soap box! Why not go to a shelter and get a dog instead of buying one from a puppy mill? Such irresponsible people! He is a cute dog, but if people weren't willing to buy them, then they wouldn't breed them and raise them in such horrific conditions. I hate this, one more reason to dislike these awful parents.

Re: 8 Passengers :Private Schools and Public Humiliations | Part #14
I think part of the reason for Eve's behavior is entitlement.
She has been raised up to feel that she is entitled to do things and she's not responsible for herself.
She has had almost zero consequences to anything she does, and I think she hasn't heard word ''no'' when no actually means no.
Saying no and then letting her do things anyways leads up to feelings of entitlement.
Ruby was blaming other kids for not letting HER set rules for Eve when she was younger. She is the MOM. Why would she let kids influence her like that?! (We've seen her let Shari rule over her before, so no wonder why Shari feels entitled to rule)
I agree with Ruby, that it is better to improve things with positive reinforcement. Not calling her names and making her feel guilty but encouraging her and actually following her and making sure that she does what she is supposed to.
HOWEVER! A massive no-no for feeding her thoughts of not being loved. I don't think that is fair for the sibling involved. When she said that Eve started crying and said that she feels like that, Eve had repeated almost identically what Ruby just had asked her...
Everyone in this family feels entitled to do what they want to do. That's why they are such a mess.

Re: 8 Passengers :Private Schools and Public Humiliations | Part #14
It’s strange to me that Ruby came up with this revelation that Eve isn’t the problem, that she’s a product of her home Environment and needs to be heard and understood. Yet she can’t connect that whatever Chad did to “deserve” to be sent to Anasazi isn’t due to being a product of his home environment either? It’s a parallel situation. She doesn’t see that? Why not try to understand and listen to Chad as well? Applying the same logic....?
Is this something she’s learning in her councilling class?

Re: 8 Passengers :Private Schools and Public Humiliations | Part #14
I could not imagine picking a dog from a "catalog," never having interaction with it until I've paid and picked it up. Dogs pick people, just like we pick dogs. Ruby has said the puppy is a cavapoo. Cavapoos can be 12-25 lbs (largely depending on what size poodle was used, in that there are tcup, toy, miniature and standard). The cavachon goes up to 18 lbs. I would love to know if Nollie was given more range in the house in her earlier years. If it is the case that she became incontinent as she got much older, then that's why they kept her in the foyer, and there is hope for the puppy. I just remember seeing vlogs with Nollie so excited and wanting to be with them when they were in the music room, but she couldn't go in. Just like Bonnie's dog, cavapoos like being with their people (well, dogs in general want to be with their people [pack]), so if they separate the puppy from everyone at sleep time and family time, it will be really sad. Bonnie would get on Lady because she was always barking, well, stick a dog whose nature is to be with others in a crate and you're going to get barking. Sad thing is, instead of giving Lady more people time, they put a shock collar on her--no more barking from the crate.Kataja wrote: ↑Mon Feb 03, 2020 12:08 am I really feel bad for the animals in this household.

Shari says her bun hits her sun visor in the car when it’s up, you think with a mother who is so nervous about her getting in a wreck that her mom would tell her she’s sitting way too close to the air bag. You’re head shouldn’t be near the sun visor at all.

It drives me crazy when people get a puppy and just keep it in a crate. I get doing it for the potty training time but then beyond on that, that's unfair to the dog. My family god a "puppy" who was a year old at the time from a house where they didn't have time for him so he was kept in a cage all the time. I also hope that this dog is allowed on the furniture because there's nothing better than watching tv cuddling a dog.Happy+Charlie wrote:I could not imagine picking a dog from a "catalog," never having interaction with it until I've paid and picked it up. she literally sits right up to the steering wheel. She’s too short to reach the pedals otherwise without the accommodations she actually needs.Sarahmm98 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 03, 2020 5:25 am Shari says her bun hits her sun visor in the car when it’s up, you think with a mother who is so nervous about her getting in a wreck that her mom would tell her she’s sitting way too close to the air bag. Oh, my word she prays for a closet to put a box in and low and behold she now has a house with what appeared to be a lot of closets.
I was raised Mormon but left the minute I turned 18 and that always baffled me. If you lost something you get down on your knees and pray. If you need space for a box you get down on your knees and pray. I have faith but that was always strange to me.

I haven’t been watching their videos because I get too pissed off, but I am so bummed they are getting a dog. This is not a family that’s good with dogs. I always got the impression that Ruby couldn’t wait until Nollie’s time was up. I sure as hell hope they treat this one better but I don’t see it happening. Here’s my prediction: video about dog getting out, video about Eve forcing the dog to do something it doesn’t want to do, video about the dog getting into something or eating something it shouldn’t, etc. This family knows nothing about dogs and doesn’t even seem to have a ton of time for one. They ship their kids off when they don’t behave accordingly, so I worry for this dogs fate. And wtf, are there no dog rescues in Utah?? Why do they have to go with a designer breed that needs to be shipped in on a plane when there are plenty of dogs out there to adopt? I wonder if it’s a type that’s hypoallergenic or doesn’t shed or something because I’m sure Ruby is going to be neurotic about the new house. That’s why manny people get designer breeds so I wouldn’t be surprised.

I just hope they let the poor dog out in the house and not confined to the entryway our outside. As a fellow dog owner that broke my heart. I don't watch Bonnie anymore but I read the message board here about her and doesn't she only allow her dog on the blanket? Let the dogs roam free or don't get them. Obviously give them boundaries but not to the entryway or blanket.

Okay in Ruby's IG story, she talks about a project with Shari, Abby and Julie. That must be what the trip to AZ was about. Due to school, maybe Shari couldn't get away for the trip.

Honestly just wondering...What’s with Shari’s eyes & the way she hold her mouth when she talks? Like her eyes seem like they want to close and her top lip doesn’t move. I can’t watch her because it bugs me. It seems like she does it on purpose

Surely heavenly father must have urged Ruby to adopt a local dog, wouldnt that be the "giving", "humble" way of doing things?
We adopted a dog last year and he is the best. Sweet with the kids and so very loving.
At least we got to enjoy another one of her preachy speeches on how to parent
