It’s been awhile since I last posted. Kinda lost interest with the Peru trip; not because of that beautiful country and the people in it. Because Megan and Mike get on my nerves. But that shopping vlog was too entertaining to miss. She really has a problem, doesn’t she? Really gets manic when she shops. Nobody needs all that stuff! Where is she going to put it all!?! And I’m all for colors, but in an intentional way. Not in a scattered brain, throw it all on the wall and see if it sticks kinda way. Yeesh. Get her some help.

Re: Knorpp and South: Manic Megan’s Pinterest Palace | Part 2
I personally think that he didn't actively steal it, but once he had it, had no intention of giving it back. I mean, he refused their calls, accidentally called them from her phone (meaning he knew he had it), etc. I don't think it's a wrong assumption of Megan to say that he wasn't planning on giving the phone back, because all evidence points that way.
However, I agree that it was wrong of her to show his face, car, and where he lived. I feel like it was all being filmed so that there would be some drama in the vlogs. And the guy did come right out and returned her phone, so I don't think he was acting maliciously. I also think it's irresponsible that they are filming on Megan's phone without backing-up their videos. She could have dropped her phone in the rain, or smashed it and broke it, and everything would have been gone. These people do not plan things well at all, so I am not surprised Megan would leave her phone behind.

Re: Knorpp and South: Manic Megan’s Pinterest Palace | Part 2
He may or may not have intended to return it. Nevertheless, that doesn’t really count as stealing it. The problem as I see it is that Megan accused him of stealing it, when she in fact either left it or dropped it, but I
Is willing to say in the title of the vlog he stole her phone.
The phone could have belonged to anyone who had travelled in his car that morning. It wasn’t necessarily the last passenger who had dropped it, especially if he didn’t see it at first because it was under the seat.
He couldn’t contact her directly to arrange its return, because he had the phone. He may not have answered it because he thought it was someone trying to contact her rather than her trying to contact him. He didn’t know she was travelling with someone else. It may be just that he didn’t answer it because he couldn’t explain to whoever was calling that he had her phone.
He could have taken the phone inside with him to try and contact Uber about what to do with the phone. I doubt very much that he has direct responsibility for returning property to users. He probably notifies Uber who can then arrange for someone to contact him if the owner contacts them. There may be some central department that lost property is returned to.
We don’t know that the driver wasn’t trying to sort any of this out before Megan and Mike turned up there.
The only information we have is the series of assumptions they made. There are no grounds for those assumptions, other than the fact that they are inclined to think they are better than anyone else and can go around accusing people of theft.
He may have been entirely innocent and now he has been publicly accused of theft. His face and that if his children have been shared on YouTube, as his car and registration and the area he lives in. This could lose him his job. It could cause problems with friends or relatives. Megan has no right to do that on the basis of assumption.
She was stupid enough to lose the phone in the first place, yet she accuses him of stealing it from her. That’s unfair!

I don't care if he kept the phone or not. In places like that where money is scarce he could have fed his family for a year by selling that phone. A thousand dollar Iphone is gold to people with little or no money. It's not his fault she is totally loco and misplaced her phone and that awful hat too. But to make an entire 30 minute video shaming him and repeating the same story over and over in that 30 minutes is what is truly horrific. And to see her reactions as her children "bother" her while ranting about a stupid cell phone in that video shows a really disgusting side of herself. Also praying for it to rain so a dog tied up outside barking for attention will be quiet shows she clearly lacks empathy. I would have fed and watered the poor thing.

To be fair, we don't know the man's financial situation, and I don't think it's right to make assumptions about him from the little we've seen. I know Peru is a developing country, but I don't think it's fair to characterize everyone who lives there as very poor and desperate for cash. At the very least, we know that this man could afford a smartphone so he could drive for Uber, so it's not like it's an unheard of, rare commodity in Cusco. I'm not saying that this doesn't mean he isn't struggling financially, but we don't know either way and can't make generalizations based off of the little we've seen from the vlog, and our own assumptions of the country.ITSMYOPINION wrote: ↑Wed Feb 05, 2020 6:24 pm I don't care if he kept the phone or not. I think we can all agree that Megan was careless, saying he "stole" the phone was a stretch, and filming the whole thing was tacky. I'd definitely be mad if I left my phone in an Uber and the driver wouldn't return my calls to give it back to me, but I would never publicly shame him and reveal his face, his car, and (presumably) his house.
Re: Knorpp and South: Manic Megan’s Pinterest Palace | Part 2
Did you actually watch it? He CLEARLY took it and had it in his pocket... I agree they are pretty clueless but come on lol he definitely tried to steal it.MervelllaB wrote: ↑Wed Feb 05, 2020 2:02 pm I just can’t with the latest vlog!
She accuses the Uber driver of stealing her phone - after she appears to have left it in the car. When he doesn’t answer her calls they track her phone and go to his home where the car is parked. A woman speaks to them and sends the man out who then returns the phone.
However, Megan is so rude and insists he stole it! There is absolutely no proof that he did. He didn’t physically take it from her and he gave it straight back.
She showed his face, car and home location on her video. That is unacceptable. If it was a genuine mistake she could cost him his job which his young family relies upon!

What I’m wondering is if any of the kids like Daniel, Esther or Andrew had lost their phones in a similar way if any effort would be put into getting it back. Of course Manic Megan cannot live without keeping up appearances on social media.
Re: Knorpp and South: Manic Megan’s Pinterest Palace | Part 2
All I can think of when watching their latest is WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU TWO????
You’re going to follow a guy who’s 1) stupid enough to steal a phone left in an uber and 2) a thief, so likely dangerous??? And you have 8 kids back at your hotel?? What if something had happened and there was an altercation? I just can’t believe they would take such a big risk for something so meaningless.
And they mentioned they needed the phone more than anything because it had all their footage and videos from the trip on it.
Ok? As people who clearly are trying to make YouTube their full time job, why are you not backing up all your videos and pictures into iCloud constantly? I don’t understand that.

We all agree that there was no evidence he stole the phone. She left it in his car! Has he an obligation to try and return it? I don’t know. What are the rules about returning a lost item to passengers? I don’t know. Was he trying to make arrangements to return it? I don’t know.
You see it makes no sense to me whatsoever that if he was actually trying to steal it, he would keep it switched on! It makes no sense why he would even bother to come out to them if he was trying to steal it - let alone with the phone in his pocket. What were they going to do if he didn’t come out to them? He could have just denied all knowledge of it. They could have phoned the phone there and then and it would have rang and he couldn’t deny it, because it was switched on.
He pleasantly came out to them, with (presumably) his children and gave the phone straight back to them. Was that his original intention? Who knows? What we do know is that he didn’t actually steal it - she left it. We also know that he returned it. Anything in between is speculation.
Keeping an item which is left in your car is entirely different from stealing it. It might not be honourable but it’s not theft. They are idiots and they make me angry. Quite frankly, to try and defend them at this point, is beyond me.
Their actions in tracking the man and going to demand the phone back from him were reckless to say the least and showed no regard for their safety or the well-being of their children. It was acting on her impulses once again and could have been dangerous.
They’re idiots - both of them. Watching this whole trip has been like watching a car crash. I had lost all respect for them a long time ago and this confirms that I was right to do so!

You are obviously one of those people who hate the Knorrps so much that anything they do or say is incorrect and you are never going to agree with anything. There’s not point in arguing.
Of course the guy is going to immediately give the phone back, they showed up at his house!
I agree it was dangerous and stupid to show up there but HE STOLE THE PHONE!!!
Re: Knorpp and South: Manic Megan’s Pinterest Palace | Part 2
The behavior I see on this forum is really unhealthy. There are a lot of really unhappy, negative and hateful people here. I don’t understand this need to nitpick at everything the Knorpps do and say. Are you all perfect? Have you never made a mistake as parents, travelers, or just human beings? They are putting their life online and of course need to be open to criticism but seriously? Calling her a narcissist all the time, talking badly about her children (Andrew, Asher, Peter), calling her neglectful and both her and Mike stupid? That’s hateful. You don’t know them, and despite all the things I don’t like about them they honestly seem like really nice and fun people.
There are a lot of things I don’t like about these people but they are all based around things I know as facts. My two main issues are Pearl and Esthers back issues, and Eve and Judes education.
But I’m not going to watch Megan, who is so excited to buy a bunch of stuff, and call her a manic and a narcissist who has a shopping problem. Wow, a white middle aged, upper middle class woman going to Peru to buy souvenirs??? What a horrible crime!!!! Some of you guys really need to chill out and relax. Focus on stuff that’s actually worth getting upset about, like the girls backs or Jude acting like a 5 year old.

At the moment, I am struggling to see any redeeming features in the Knorrps right now.
I am not going to agree with anyone who says the man “stole” the phone because that’s a complete misrepresentation of what happened. He did not “steal” her phone. She left it and she refused to take responsibility for that. She can’t say categorically that he wasn’t going to give it back - she doesn’t know that gir sure and the evidence isn’t enough to say he took it.
He may not have intended to give it back but equally he might.
She made an assumption and she posted it along with his car, his home, his kids and his face on YouTube with no regard for his privacy.
She is happy to assume the worst and post it publicly when she doesn’t know for sure it’s true. That says a lot about her. But no, I’m the hater? I’m the one who is willing to give the man the benefit of the doubt but I’m the hater?
Okay. Fair enough!

The Uber driver had a phone in his pocket when he opened the car door. Megan said he had her go around to the passenger door and then handed her the phone inside the car. It's possible he was pointing out to her where he found the phone...where she left the phone in the car.
We don't know the drivers side of the story...whether he notified the Uber office etc. His actions on her phone don't really tell me much. I can tell you I have a dumb flip phone which is ALL I want. My dh has the smartest of smart phones. I couldn't answer or make a call on it if my life depended on it. Maybe her phone was more advanced than what he was familiar with...*shrug*.
Bottom line, she should be responsible for keeping up with her own property. She didn't claim he took it off her. Her mistake. She should be grateful she got it back with no harm done to either her or Mike. And for goodness sake, back up what's important to you.
2 great examples of "ugly americans" traveling abroad.

Re: Knorpp and South: Manic Megan’s Pinterest Palace | Part 2
I used to live in Korea, and if you find something that belongs to someone else and you don't return it, it's considered stealing and you can be arrested for it. In many other countries, it's also considered a crime. I think the Knorpp's were careless and Megan made a mistake in leaving her phone behind. However, let's not not ignore all of the evidence that shows that the man was most likely planning on keeping it (ignoring their calls, accidentally calling them from Megan's phone meaning he knew it was in his possession, Megan seeing it in his hand and pretending it was in the car). To say there was no evidence that he wasn't going to return the phone is a little ridiculous in my opinion. Most people agree that you shouldn't be reckless with the items you value, and also agree that it is wrong to keep something that doesn't belong to you. This situation is not black and white and I don't understand why people think that it's either all or nothing. It can be true that Megan was careless, while also being true that the man was planning on keeping her phone.
Re: Knorpp and South: Manic Megan’s Pinterest Palace | Part 2
Both could be true. But we DO know she was careless. We DON'T know whether he was planning on keeping her phone. Maybe yes, maybe no. We're hearing this story from Megan, who is too quick to point the finger at others and excuse her own part in any situation.lefargen97 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2020 8:22 am I used to live in Korea, and if you find something that belongs to someone else and you don't return it, it's considered stealing and you can be arrested for it. They are not putting their life online for wholly altruistic reasons. They are doing it so neither of them have to work. Any criticism anyone can make can only be based on the image the put out there. Any thing people say is based on what they show, so maybe they need to reconsider that.hbee123 wrote:The behavior I see on this forum is really unhealthy.
Megan, upper middle class? Are you for real? She has no class. She thinks she has but she proves time and time again that there is nothing classy about her! She’s ridiculous. Her trip to Peru has been painfully embarrassing from before they even left NC. She didn’t even help her own children pack because it stresses her too much. She thinks she is alternative and unique and edgy in her thinking. She’s not. She’s like a college kid who never grew up.
The impression people have of her, is the one she gives.

The amount of hate you have for her is unhealthy and creepy.MervelllaB wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2020 8:45 amThey are not putting their life online for wholly altruistic reasons. They may make some money on YouTube but not enough to be able to afford all these things. I don’t agree with the selling of essential oils but you can’t deny they were successful at it. If you look at what tier they were (blue diamond) with DoTerra, both Mike and Megan we’re pulling around $400k a year. That’s by definition “upper-middle class.” Saying she’s not “classy” is missing the point. They are very wealthy, and enjoy that wealthy by traveling.
I feel like the hatefulness over Megan spending money on things is out of jealousy. There’s no reason for it if you aren’t jealous. It’s not even like she’s an irresponsible Or un-environmentally friendly shopper Because she buys everyone second-hand or local.
You just hate this woman for no real reason - you don’t know her, all you see is what she puts online, and there isn’t very much of it that warrants this kind of criticism. You need to reflect on yourself and ask yourself why you are so critical and hateful. It’s not healthy and it’s not normal to have so much dislike for a person you don’t know.

One thing tho, in the previous post I read "upper middle class woman" a little differently. Class being descriptive of her lifestyle/station in life, often by money/level of comfort. Not class as descriptive of her actions. But, I agree she's not classy! Wouldn't know class if it bit her in the butt.

“A complete misrepresentation of what happened” you weren’t there!!! All we know is what was on camera. Even forgetting all the other things that point to theft based on what Megan said, if we are just looking at the proof from the video it’s quite clear it was stolen.MervelllaB wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2020 8:05 amHaving two phones does mean he stole hers? They could have both been his phone? Having two phones proves absolutely nothing. We don’t even know for definite that Megan’s was the second phone!hbee123 wrote:You clearly did not watch it. Did I actually watch it. Don’t be ridiculous! Of course I watched it! Several times actually, as did my family.

Are you honestly saying you would teach your children it’s not stealing to keep a phone a person left in their car? It’s perfectly ok to keep it because they left it there by mistake? Ok...
He had the phone in his pocket, your refusal to accept this as fact just proves you hate these people so much, they could say the sky is blue and you’d disagree. He literally pulled the phone from his pocket and handed it to her, while pretending it was sitting on the car seat. Stop pretending that this clearly doesn’t point to theft. If it had been sitting there the whole time, why did Mike not see it when he was looking through the windows of the vehicle? If it has been in the car the whole time, how did he call Mikes phone using it, or turn off the alarm? Why point her to the other side of the car and hand her the phone immediately anyway?
I doubt you are going to read this, but what about all the other things Mike and Megan said took place? He had the phone with him, he hung up with Uber when they were trying to contact him, he turned off the “lost” alarm multiple times, accidentally called Mikes phone and then refused to answer all their phones calls afterwards... you’re delusional if you think this man was trying to make an honest effort to deliver the phone back. He was actively avoiding them.
Not turning off the phone is stupid but STILL points to theft because if you try to jailbreak an iPhone it obviously needs to be turned on to do so. He also may not have been able to figure out how to turn it off, who knows. The facts all point to him fully intending to keep it.
Maybe she shouldn’t have posted this footage but they have every right to do so and I doubt this will have any impact on his ability to drive with Uber. At the end of the day, the police weren’t called, they didn’t report him to Uber, and everyone walked away unharmed. What is your problem?
Re: Knorpp and South: Manic Megan’s Pinterest Palace | Part 2
I honesty can’t believe you could watch that footage and believe he wasn’t planning on keeping the phone. There’s no reasonable “maybe.” I guess you must have never lost anything in your entire life, to be making such broad and judgmental statements about Megan.gibberish wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2020 8:35 amBoth could be true.
It wasn’t even a big deal. He was waiting to see if he could get away with keeping it, as he assumed as a tourist, there would be no way Megan and Mike would come find him to get the phone back. They showed up, he realized there wasn’t any way to keep it, and tried to find a way to give it back without looking guilty. It wasn’t that serious of a situation and both parties walked away with no issues.
