I've stopped watching her for a while to try to think calmly about this mess. I came to the conclusion that YES, it is a cult.
Taina will probably never answer the question about why they make the kids wear white tshirts and blue jeans, and will probably always defend herself saying they are not a cult. I've never once heard about a cult which called itself that.
The similarities between them and the cult The Family (thank to the person who mentioned them, I've watch a couple of documentaries about them, it's fascinating) are very telling. Anne Hamilton-Byrne was still the head of her cult when she died a few years ago, and she still had followers. So there's that.
Plus Paul's mother who is still preaching about how the world is going to end soon. The Family was all about preparing a bunch of white blonde kids to recreate the human race after Armageddon, so it makes sense.

Hi Lyanna,yes,there are certain similarities between Anne HB family and the TL family,I agree.
However I must add,from the book I’ve read,by a woman ( Sarah Moore:” Unseen,Unheard,Unknown”) who grew up in HB’s care,she describes how she and all the other children were starved of both food and affection,and treated brutally.
She says all the children were beaten,for the most trivial of offences.
She had horrendous childhood experiences at the hands of HB,her husband,and the people who worked for them.
Apparently, HB believed she was the reincarnation of Jesus Christ.

In my opinion,TT has her faults,many faults maybe,but her kids are neither starved nor beaten,not treated brutally,and they all live surrounded by the security of parents and siblings. There’s obviously a lot of love between each of the family members.
Plus,TT may have a very high opinion of herself,but she hasnt said that she’s the reincarnation of Jesus,or of anyone else-not so far,anyway!

I found done some research on the family from past things and I’ve discovered some things according to taina or from what I’ve found.
~taina apparently was a raw vegan 80% fruit 20% veg (from IG)
~she was thinking of adopting after her 4th child but since they already had 4 children, they would be at the bottom of the list (IG)
~she used to wake up at 5am, not 3am even though I doubt she wakes up at 3 anyways (IG)
~this one really gets me. I thought she said that they lived in that big 3 story house for 8/9 years. But if you look at the first few posts where Nefertiti was about 1, you can see there is a photo of her nursery which looks completely different from the big 3 story house and there was maybe 2 or 3 other photos that show that it’s a different home from the 3 story one. Meaning it looks like they lived in that home for 4/5 years not 8/9. Unless I mistakened that for living in finland for 8/9 years because she did say that.

You're right, however all these testimonies about how they were badly treated in The Family were only made after the old girl escaped and told the authorities. Before that, it looked like a perfect blonde family with a lot of well behaved and smart children.

Taina's kids are blanket trained. The kids often show affection towards each other but I don't think there is that much love between the parents and the children, and even less between the parents themselves. I think we can agree that Taina never hug them genuinely, it's all an act for the show and even for the show she doesn't hug or kiss them often. They're all her little props.

Don't even get me started on Taina and Paul's couple. I can't comprehend it. They look like they only got married to birth a bunch of kids and raise them to face the end of the world and be cute doing it.

Hi Lyanna just want to add two points : -
1) Yes,there were some photos of some blonde well dressed kids,but for many years AHB kept it a secret how badly all those kids were being treated,and she managed to do so by generally keeping most of the children out of public sight. They had a well practised drill,and the kids knew exactly where they had to go and hide,for example,when the authorities came calling to do inspections.
All this info is in SarahMoore’s book,” Unseen,Unheard,Unknown”. The title itself says it all.
Ts brood is far from being unseen,unheard,unknown. In fact,the total opposite,as from approximately November 2018-December2019,we were constantly bombarded with footage of her family. Yes she wants to present a perfect picture to the public,but that doesn't mean that behind the scenes her kids are living the life of hell that the AHB ‘family’ were.

2) Yes,I agree that,from the vlogs,it doesnt look like T shows affection to her children. The camera being the problem - as,infuriatingly,she won't put it down!
But we only get a very small snapshot of their lives,and have no idea how the family functions in private during the many hours filming isn't happening.
I’m not for one minute saying the LTs always parent their children as well as they could..we have all seen and discussed examples where this is not the case.

Please don’t accuse me of being Taina! I’m not,and I’m not one of her sycophants either.
I just don’t believe,after reading Sarah Moore’s Unseen,Unknown,Unheard,and watching the TLT vlogs,that T and P LT’s lifestyle can be realistically compared to AHB and her husband’s horrendous treatment of the many youngsters who were unfortunate enough to fall into their ”care”.

I think I will pass on the bean recipes. They are basically refried beans with added onions and tomatoes plus an odd combination of spices, look very unappetising and the video is very poorly made. However, measurements are very clear. Shame they didn't have that much fruit and veg shown on the table at the beginning when they were travelling.
Those kids need a decent education.

Dru, Is it just me or was that mindbendingly boring? I couldn't make it to the end. I was falling asleep.

Those three bean sauces looked nauseating to me,but then I’m a fussy eater,so I’m quite glad you thought they looked unappealing too. It’s not just me being fussy then!
It really didn’t seem worth all the argy-bargy of all that boiling,simmering,watching them,did it?

“ when you want yummy beans to watch a movie” ...??? Erm,does that actually ever happen in the real world?
How about a bucket of popcorn instead?
We used to have a neighbour who took peas to the cinema and shelled and ate them watching the film ( possibly a Licciardo relative?)
