So Julie does get her own bedroom and that made her happy. That's good. I'm not sure why Chad gets a smaller room with a big closet when he said he doesn't want the big closet. Russell gets a bigger room with a smaller closet. Why not switch those around? I'm guessing that's what Ruby wants and she just wants control over HER house. The house does look nice and I'm looking forward to a tour.

Yes, I'm very happy for Julie too. Hopefully Chad will grow to love his room - he's still going to have more space than before as he doesn't need to share, and Russell will need space for the dog.ba1006 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 16, 2020 6:29 am So Julie does get her own bedroom and that made her happy. We all knew Julie didn’t want to share but we were told she did. We’ve seen Julies facial impressions when it’s been talked about. I love love Julies response when she was told she is getting her own room.
Ok I’m happy now Julie gets her own room.
I really hope that doesn’t change if Eve gets scared.
Now I hope Russel and Chad switch.
Ruby’s comment. This house fits our needs. We have four girls and four bedrooms upstairs. Give me a break Ruby.
Out of all the rooms Abbys would be my favorite.
I wonder what made them change their mind?

Re: 8 Passengers: Feeding Your Kids Leftovers and Emotions | Part 15
Ruby says that the children have not seen the house yet and are there for the first time, but I think i remember there was a film or photos of Chad in the new house. So does Ruby lie or do I lie to myself?
Julie was so happy with her own room, fantastic to see that. She deserved that.
Chad should be happy. He gets his own room and he is bigger than what he now shares with Russel. Nothing wrong with it. Julie would have been happy with that room as long as it is her own.
What is it about Russel, that he jumps so crazy on the floor. He has been doing that for years. I think it's quite a toddler behavior and expected that he would have stopped doing it by now. I understand that he is happy, but this is a very intense way to show that.

It's a little weird to me thatrl Russell is all the way downstairs I mean he's still only 8 and could have nightmares and it's far to go if he wants to get mom and dad. It was also weird to me that Ruby made a point if saying she put all the girls upstairs and all the boys downstairs. They're all siblings why would it matter if you seperated them based on gender? That reminds me of something the Duggars would do....

yeah it's really weird, i really don't see why it matters. also what if he's sick? is chad just responsible for him then?SwiftlyD wrote: ↑Sun Feb 16, 2020 8:08 am It's a little weird to me thatrl Russell is all the way downstairs I mean he's still only 8 and could have nightmares and it's far to go if he wants to get mom and dad. surely the more you separate them by gender, the more likely you are to create an issue out of it? like russell's gonna grow up seeing his sisters' rooms as some magical off limits land instead of just, yknow, a room where his sister sleeps and maybe hangs out sometimes
Re: 8 Passengers: Feeding Your Kids Leftovers and Emotions | Part 15
Russell should have got the smaller room.

Russell is over 6. He doesn't need mom or dad anymore. Chad can handle it if Russell gets sick or scared in the middle of the night.ghostboy wrote:yeah it's really weird, i really don't see why it matters. also what if he's sick? is chad just responsible for him then?SwiftlyD wrote: ↑Sun Feb 16, 2020 8:08 am It's a little weird to me thatrl Russell is all the way downstairs I mean he's still only 8 and could have nightmares and it's far to go if he wants to get mom and dad. Well, with Shari saying things like "if Chad wasn't my brother, I would date him" and Ruby thinking it's sweet because "I felt the same way about my brother", maybe it's a good idea to separate them in Ruby's pretzel logic world.

Chad is only 14 he shouldn't have to take care of his little brother like he's his kid. It's also a little odd to me that a 8 year old is doing his own laundry that seems like something you start doing as a teen because you don't want your mom seeing your sheets/underwear anymore. At least that's how my brother did it.lmmomSD wrote:Russell is over 6. He doesn't need mom or dad anymore. It may have been mentioned already but I find it off they gave Russell the larger bedroom. Chad is a teenager who would benefit from a full sized bed and possibly a desk for school work. Russell is still small enough for a twin bed and by the time he is older and needs more room Chad will most likely be out of the house.

It would make sense to give him bigger room, like they allowed Shari to have. Ruby just has to keep control by playing the mind games and keeping Chad in his place.Boymomma123 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 16, 2020 10:34 am It may have been mentioned already but I find it off they gave Russell the larger bedroom. I felt like giving Chad the smallest room was another way Ruby was getting back at Chad for the whole wilderness deal! Remember Ruby through a lot of Chad's clothes away and he probably don't have a huge amount of clothes that needs all the space!Happy+Charlie wrote: ↑Sun Feb 16, 2020 10:48 amIt would make sense to give him bigger room, like they allowed Shari to have. None of the children have much clothing except Ruby and maybe Shari since they both have clothing with the price tags still attached.sheltiefan wrote: ↑Sun Feb 16, 2020 11:14 am

Re: 8 Passengers: Feeding Your Kids Leftovers and Emotions | Part 15
If Russell is old enough to not need Ruby and Kevin's help anymore, he shouldn't need his brother's help either. (Russell still needs a lot of parent interaction, in my opinion.) Chad should not have to take over where Ruby has decided to leave off because she is too lazy to parent her children past the age of 6.lmmomSD wrote: ↑Sun Feb 16, 2020 9:30 amRussell is over 6. Having Chad on the same floor as Russell should bring comfort, only, knowing he is not by himself down there. It should not be a replacement for Ruby to look after him when he is sick, needs help getting ready for school or woken up in the morning, as Ruby has stated the girls will be expected to do with Eve. Ruby has washed her hands of being a hands on parent. That's really a great mom for ya!! If everyone adopted her method, there would be a lot of growth stunted young adults in the world, just like she and her sisters.
Either she thinks she's that powerful of a mom that her kids do not need her past the age of 6 because she's done that well teaching them, or she's just a cold woman who just wants to be done with raising her children, and, so, she shall be. I'm with the latter.

Just to clarify, I was being facetious about Russell not needing his parents because he is over 6. That's Ruby's point of view, not mine!

Re: 8 Passengers: Feeding Your Kids Leftovers and Emotions | Part 15
Wow.
What will Ruby do in the new house? All the kids have to do their own laundry. With the help of their older siblings. I'm sure they'll be in charge of their bathrooms and cleaning the kitchen as well as whatever else Ruby makes them all responsible for.
What is she responsible for?!?!?! Ruby. Ruby only cares about Ruby. No wonder those poor kids act the way they do. How sad.

Re: 8 Passengers: Feeding Your Kids Leftovers and Emotions | Part 15
The boys are downstairs not because of gender but that is where Ruby tucks away anything nuisance to her and since Russell will have the dog andChad annoys her to no end tuck them away! I was so sad to hear Chad say ‘I was bad!’ G knows what she did to him since birth trying to get over the golden child she lost, that has made Chad value himself so little! I wish there was a higher power to clearly show her what an absolute horrendous parent she really is!
She was unlucky to miscarry that child and it is of course the worst experience for any woman but resented all the ones she did have, glorifying that one child! It is like if that one could not have her none of them would!
Julie probably got her own room because she reads here how people continuously call her out on how she treats Julie ,she has been pretending a lot when it comes to interacting with Julie lately!

Re: 8 Passengers: Feeding Your Kids Leftovers and Emotions | Part 15
Sorry for the double post! I just wanted to add, though we just got some small glimpses, I don’t see any major upgrade as to this house!? in fact I liked the old one and their back yard! But it remains to be seen! It looks dated and has a creepy vibe, but empty old houses do that to me!
Kept on thinking that carpet yuck! And the previous house was the perfect size for Kevin and Ruby when the kids moved out!
She had recently organized everything in its place, she definitely did not need to move!

I am so happy for Julie that she got her own room, she looked so excited but I do think some of it comes from Ruby reading here
