A bank/loan wouldn’t be involved if you are paying straight cash for any home so I’m not sure who you would have to show backup support to. You see what I’m saying? You would literally get a certified check and show up to settlement with that check.
I gotcha. I wish I paid straight cash. I meant I had cash for the down payment... which would be what Brittani would be doing, right? Cashing out the GFM wouldn’t cover the complete cost of the house.
But I know down thread someone said it IS possible to use GFM as a down payment and someone else suggested the scenario of the ex husband cashing out the GFM since it was in his name and gifting it to Brittani. So... those are likely possibilities.

Now I’m wondering if she has her grandkids call her honey because maybe that’s what he calls her so it wouldn’t make it super confusing and wouldn’t seem so gross seeing your dad in a relationship with ‘grandma’ ?

If what u say is true, and for what it’s worth I believe you,
ALL I CAN SAY IS POOR CARTER. Brits ex is just nasty....but ur own mom divorces ur dad of over 20 some years to hook up with ur husband. Absolutely appalling. Sick pos IMO. I really believe where there’s smoke there’s fire, and we are in a damn inferno with “honey and her lover boy, Brits ex” .
Carter probably doesn't know the difference now, but imagine how awkward that situation would be, to be in public with your grandma and her boyfriend, who is also your dad.
