Re: Cullen and Katie: Shifty eyes and constant lies | Part #25
Can someone sum up the newest video about taking their house off the market?

Literally nothing new. It's becoming more obvious they read comments on this site.
They are pretending they "might" take the house off the market to "reset" the listing date, but they also can't afford to not sell it ASAP. The End.

Oh they definitely read here because Katie often defends the decisions we question here. I also think they are seeing a lot of comments that are calling them out for their bs that they don't approve. Katie also must be deleting comments off of Instagram and blocking people. The few comments I have seen that they could consider negative are really just constructive criticism. I hate how yt idiots can't even accept that there are different ways to do things. They just label criticism as "hate" and fish for more compliments.
I don't think they are paying the mortgage out of the LLC, I think they just are not paying it again. They got caught up through February or possibly through March as well with the money they raised. I think they are just going to pray it sells. The business card was never used for business anyway. They admitted to using it when they went out to eat and shopping sprees. I think they make a lot less from yt than they want to admit. I think the 28k from sponsors is the biggest chunk they will make all year. I doubt there is much money left for the business most months after the pay themselves 8k. They just don't want to look bad in front of their yt friends.

Re: Cullen and Katie: Shifty eyes and constant lies | Part #25
Then they lied again because they said they had cancelled both the cleaning lady and yard guy. Sorry to say this but excuse me, annoyed, what a nasty kid she's become? The funny thing is they have negative incidents about Gaines to mention, but I can't remember one negative thing Brooks really did.snowyday54 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 26, 2020 5:46 pm Didn't anybody notice that in the last video Katie slipped up and said that Gaines was annoyed when the cleaners would have to come? Um, are we all be taken for a ride here? Is this just BS that they are struggling? Because you do not hire cleaners when you can't pay your bills. Insanity.
Katie should bring some rest in that little boy, I see restlessness because of environmental stress in his speech and walk, just how I feel it. It happened quite a few times that she doesn't respond when he's trying to say something or that Gaines interrupts him and Brooks has to repeat himself a couple of times. (Katie does interrupt herself to let Gaines (who interrupted) speak but she doesn't with Brooks at least at these times.)
The least thing she can do is mention to him to use his whole foot when he's walking, that it's more relaxing and that he doesn't need to walk on the tip of his feet- and who knows about the symbolism. Apparently the swing she forces on him every morning in the basement and which he doesn't want, doesn't work.
I thought it was sad how she was involved with Gaines in the store and explained things like the consequences of her behavior if she would choose this or that but not with Brooks, and that's how he ended up with buying something he regretted, she didn't guide him at all. He only bought it because it happened to be one of the last toys they came across and he was left to his own devise. Extra harsh to confront him later in the car and imply he deserved it because that's how life goes. No Katie, he's a 3 year little boy but you were too preoccupied with Gaines.

Re: Cullen and Katie: Shifty eyes and constant lies | Part #25
Katie always brings up negative behavior that Gaines exhibits but she doesn't see it in a negative light for some reason. They think all of her bratty princess behavior is cute. Meanwhile poor Brooks exhibits normal behavior for a 3 year old and Katie acts like he is a demon child.
I really don't understand it at all and maybe we don't see the "bad" behavior from Brooks but they sure do show Gaines to have an attitude. Brooks just seems to want attention and Katie gets flustered and upset with him for wanting basic needs met. If you go back and watch vlogs where the kids get hurt the response Katie gives Gaines compared to Brooks is completely different.
Katie needs therapy to work through the issues and resentment she clearly harbors toward Brooks.

Re: Cullen and Katie: Shifty eyes and constant lies | Part #25
I can’t believe they’re trying to explain taking the house off the market by referring to it as an “emotional detox” or a break from something. No, the house isn’t selling at the price they overpaid for it and they don’t have the money in the bank to pay the difference. They really don’t understand the position they are in and what their limited options are at this point.
At least Cullen has the self-awareness to realize now that most people run the numbers before making such a huge financial investment in a home. The numbers on their house don’t make sense, and he knows it. Potential buyers are looking at comparable properties, maintenance expenses, utility expenses, etc. Katie still thinks they won’t have to resort to a short sale. I see lots of people in the comments telling them to cut their losses, drop the price to what they need to pay off the mortgage and realtor fees. Give up on selling it for a profit. That many showings and no offers mean it's still priced too high. But Katie is still talking about layout and aesthetic preferences. Delusional.
I wonder if they currently owe more on the car than it’s worth, and they would therefore need to bring money to the table in order to rid themselves of the car loan. Cars depreciate quickly and they probably have a very high interest rate. If they can scrounge together the money to pay the difference, it makes sense to sell it just to get rid of a high car payment. But I’m guessing since they are in an identical situation with their mortgage, that’s taking priority. It’s likely they just don’t have the money in the bank to get out from under these crazy high payments. I see a bankruptcy filing in their future.
Oh My God I still cannot believe they have decided to start tithing while on the brink of financial ruin.
They seemed to finally touch on the fact that their income doesn’t cover their expenses in today’s video. How can they possibly be so salty towards comments suggesting that they find jobs when they are admitting that they need to get additional income from somewhere? Where do they think additional income comes from?
Katie said that they spent around $1,500 on Brooks’ first birthday. And then justifies the excess of Gaines’ birthday parties by bringing up the miscarriages again. I have to be careful with my spending personally, and sometimes I spend too much on things for my child, but I’ve found that it comes from a place of anxiety- I’m worried that I may not have the money in the future, so I need to plan and buy everything now so that I feel prepared and in control. I need to remind myself every now and then that this narrative in my head is not true. But first and foremost, my love for my child motivates me to be as responsible as I can be to provide for her financial future- meaning I go to work every weekday, she has a college savings account, I have life insurance for both me and my spouse, we have make sure we have money in the bank, etc. I can’t understand justifying a shopping addiction by claiming it is a product of how much I love my child and how badly I wanted to be a parent.

Re: Cullen and Katie: Shifty eyes and constant lies | Part #25
I stopped watching C&K for a while. Their new vids came up in my feed, what a difference several months makes! I definitely agree with everybody about their bizarre accounting and certain decisions not adding up. From my calculations they seem to have either a 15 or 20 year mortgage which is why their monthly payment is so high. I wonder why they haven't tried to restructure their mortgage for a longer term with the bank. Months ago I posted about updating the upstairs bathrooms. The paint job is not enough. They should take one of those gift cards to buy an openbox white pedestal sink for the half bath. That black sink is offputting a.f., but someone will probably buy it on fb marketplace. They should change the upstairs bathroom faucets to stainless or chrome, change the lighting fixtures, sell the brass chandelier, spraypaint the gold sconces, change the ugly gold trim shower doors and skip the oven. Maybe update the microwave (&dishwasher) with open box items for appearance sake since they are cheaper to replace. Even though the oven is old it works and looks fine, they can offer a credit for that. The older bathrooms are irksome and remind people that the house is not brand new. They definitely need to sell that gas guzzling money pit of a car. If they really need a second car they should just lease a cheap runner for less than $150 a month. I think leasing is a better option for them because it will be under warranty for just about everything. The saga continues...

No that mortgage payment is defiantly a 30 year mortgage. My house loan is for 367k and it’s 2400 a month. There house was over 600k. I actually guessed that was their payment before they even revealed what it was.
Nothing adds up though.

Re: Cullen and Katie: Shifty eyes and constant lies | Part #25
Their house was built in the late 80's or early 90's and most buyers are probably looking at the roof and assuming it will need updated. The backyard is super small and C&K don't take care of it so there is $$$ in the mind of potential buyers.
Katie saying the old ovens work fine even though they are old. Well yeah Katie but if I was going to drop $600k on a house I want some nice appliances.
They won't sell that house at that price if what they say is true about a lot of similar sized homes being built in the area. Anyone would choose a new build over a 1980's home with minimal updates and the floor plan that house has. They are screwed and they will have to take a loss.

Re: Cullen and Katie: Shifty eyes and constant lies | Part #25
Oh there are definitely houses in their neighborhood for much less. There were when they bought this one as well. That's one reason so many people here said they were foolish for buying it. Currently there are 13 houses for sale in their neighborhood. Only a couple are in the price range of their home. There's one for $799K, but it has a pool, is painted in neutral colors, and although the kitchen isn't my taste, it doesn't seem to have old appliances. It has a Subzero fridge. It was built in 2006.
Brooks is such a sweetie and all he wants is his mother's love and attention. But he's "difficult" according to her.
And when he said Cullen shouldn't ride that toy car because he might die and then they wouldn't have a daddy, my heart broke for him. Why would his mind go there? At 3 years old?

They are definitely not the brightest. I also 100% agree with what everyone is saying about one of them going back to a 9-5 job or Katie using her qualifications to work online from home. A girlfriend of mine who is a nurse works for big pharma from home. She earns around $100k. It was a Godsend for her because she has M.S.. They are so full of it when they blather on about not having the time or need for one of them to take a full time job. Another one of my friends recently got laid off from a corporate finance job. He didn't need to work since he is insured through his husband who is a doctor. Yet he busted his behind to get a supervisor position with the 2020 census. They are paying $32 per hour. Cullen should be applying for things like that. If he is lucky (&can pass a drug test!)he may get a government job out of it so they can have benefits. In this disastrous health marketplace that Trump has created out of pocket insurance for a family of four is on par with paying an extra rent. They need to grow the f up.Boymomma123 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 27, 2020 7:17 am Their house was built in the late 80's or early 90's and most buyers are probably looking at the roof and assuming it will need updated. Katie's latest podcast makes it SO obvious that she reads her regularly! It also really makes me think they are getting a ton of negative feedback with this series that we don't see. I wish they would just let the comments go and learn to take constructive criticism. A lot of people have good intentions but these yt moms are just so unwilling to change or accept they make mistakes.
I don't understand why they continue to do this "job" if they hate the constant criticism. I feel like to be successful in the social media realm you really have to be grounded in your believes. They could go back to regular 9 to 5 jobs and never have to deal with negative comments again.

Re: Cullen and Katie: Shifty eyes and constant lies | Part #25
The whole thing was about her fear of being judged/ not good enough. Worrying about what people think about the things she says and how they interpret her social media posts and what she says. Lots of talk about finding her true self and enjoying life.
1.) Social media: she chooses not to post certain things because of other opinions. Afraid of people not agreeing with her and constantly being concerned how people interpret her words. Negative comments really have an impact on her and she has to work to remind herself that people can have those opinions but it doesn't matter because they aren't her or living her life. She needs to be confident in her decisions because her decisions pertain to her (she mentioned comments about purchases she has made and money spent).
2.) She talked a lot about her family and how she was raised regarding worrying about her appearances and choosing what you wear based on how someone at a party will react.
3.) She talked about self care and how important it is and how her parents never taught her about how to take time for herself. She said her upbringing taught her to give and give until she was so tapped out. Now she knows how important it is to maintain her own mental and physical stability. Essentially it sounds like her mom was/is a traditional homemaker that participated in a lot of charity work and kept a clean and tidy home. She mentioned dealing with feeling like a failure if she left dirty dishes in the sink overnight because her mom always taught her to go to bed with a clean kitchen.
4.) She struggled with thinking if she couldn't be perfect at exercising and eating healthy than she just should not even try.
5.) Giving the best effort she can is good enough. She has to remind herself it is okay to take a break and lay down if she needs to. More about how stressful showings have been and just letting the house go afterwards.
I understand some of the things she is saying but I do think she complains an awful lot for someone who has a completely open schedule whose kids are taken care of by someone else at least 50% of the work week. She just keeps putting the blame on others for her crappy life when really it comes down to keeping a schedule. Her whole podcast is basically just her justifying why she doesn't do certain things.
Sorry for the long post I tried to summarize the podcast as best as I could.

She was "taught to give and give until she is tapped out"?
I call BS. Maybe that's what Dolly did. But Katie isn't involved in any charities. If she was, we'd hear about it, just like her buddy Ellie and posting for ass pats because she handed another mom a napkin. She doesn't contribute anything to the betterment of the world, except for the tithing that she talks about...

Re: Cullen and Katie: Shifty eyes and constant lies | Part #25
I don't really know if she was referring to charity/volunteer work or just simply getting things done.lmmomSD wrote:She was "taught to give and give until she is tapped out"?

I feel like Katie just seems to have a really hard time handling everyday tasks and has decided that she doesn't have to do things if she doesn't want to?
I think she is a very selfish person and thought that having kids was what she wanted and would fulfill her. But parenthood is not what she envisioned and neither is being a stay at home parent. But instead of admitting staying home with her kids isn't for her she just sends them to daycare and claims she has so much work.
I truly think she would be so much happier and fulfilled if she returned to work. Having an actual routine and schedule is so important for some people.
I get that self care is important but she acts like you just have to say screw it to all your other responsibilities and take a nap.

Re: Cullen and Katie: Shifty eyes and constant lies | Part #25
I've recently been on my own debt repayment journey. Mine is nothing too serious, just a 15k car loan. I can very easily afford the monthly payments and the loan is 0% interest so I'm in no REAL rush to pay it off, I just want to debt free. I think that would be cool.
Anyway I calculated it. 46% my monthly salary is being thrown at this debt. Take notes, cullen and katie!!! I want to pay it off as fast as possible so spending everywhere else is incredibly limited.
My Bill's also account for 43% of my monthly salary (includes my mortgage).
Whatever is left has to be divided into my envelopes for gas, and groceries. Right now eating out and "fun" money isnt even on the table. (I am also successfully saving for two weekends trips simultaneously) Screw valentines day and these other stupid holidays. It's not in the budget for me because I have a goal to pay off debt!
Sorry for the rant but I just finished my biweekly budget and comparing it to the way cullen and katie are budgeting is night and day different. Not saying everyone has to budget the same way but... when you are trying to pay off debt, I dont understand how they can soundly justify these stupid purchases
