It may be true that kindergarten is not mandatory in Utah, but there is a compulsory school attendance law once a child is 6 years old.JD386 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 04, 2020 12:21 pmKindergarten just became full day in my state in 2017 I believe.SassySassenach wrote:Wait... in what world do Kindergartners not attend full day?! 1. Tyson claims he was at the LDS mission center for 2 weeks preparing to go to Paraguay when the guilt of leaving his siblings at home during his mom’s divorce was too much and he decided to leave
2. The girls got into a charter school next year but Tyson doesn’t want them to go to school a full day because it is “just Kindergarten “ and they already know how to read
3. Tyson thinks the girls have asthma caused by inversion, since they live in the valley and air quality is bad during the winter.

He’s an even bigger moron than I thought if he thinks kindergarten is only about learning to read. There are so many social skills and life skills being taught in a fun environment.

Utah in its own little world treats kindergarten like preschool and it’s (1) not mandatory and (2) only like 3 hours a day. Or at least that’s how long kindergarten is at the Bingham kids school. It’s bizarre.

"The Laws of the State of Utah require students between the ages of six and eighteen to be in attendance at school unless they have graduated from high school (See Utah Code, 53A-11-101, 53A-11-102). "
