I make pasta about 1 time every other week, and I am not on a low carb diet or anything.
It's just not part of our regular meals.
My kid is 2.5 and he never eats mac and cheese, only on special occasions like when we have kids over for a play date or something.
I am actually appalled at what I have seen her cook. It seriously looks disgusting.
I am a new follower, I have only been occasionally watching since their new debt series.

I don't understand her kids names.
Gains and Brooks?
I've never heard those before and quite frankly I don't know which is the boy and which is the girl.
Who does she favor more?

Jeez, all these people eat are starchy carbs and some lettuce. They are all having pasta for dinner again. I am just weird because I don't make some type of pasta every night? Most nights I don't even make a carb we just do veggies and protein. How do they spend so much on groceries if all they eat is cheese and pasta.

They are still doing SO MUCH SHOPPING. Did Gaines really get that dress from her closet? And, no, Gaines didn't need balloons and flowers for the "date night." She also didn't NEED new shoes. FFS! What envelope did all that come from????

As for their names, Gaines is her middle name. Her real name is Macey. It seems like a lot of people in the South go by their middle name, including Cullen—his real name is Nicholas. And Brooks is actually a super popular boy name in the South. Mostly preppy boys. I went to school with a boy name Brooks and he, I believe, was from South Carolina.

Thank you HS for saying something about the OT conversations. I was scrolling past a whole page of posters lives.

Also, I feel like a lot of the posts seems redundant of what they shouldn’t be paying for. I think we can all agree on their unnecessary purchases or what they’re saving money for which isn’t towards their debt.

I honestly don’t have time to watch their videos anymore so I’m looking for more of a recap of what they discussed, their dumb decisions and when they go bankrupt.

On that note, what was their big realization this time?

Aldi haul videos are BIG business on YT/SM right now (and probably for the last year or so). They get a LOT of views. If you didn't know that, it might be confusing why people comment here and elsewhere about what they buy there.

Katie thinks that baked pasta dish she made last night with copious amounts of dairy is a fancy meal. Everytime they would go to Doc and Dolly's for a meal on sundays like they used to it seemed like Dolly made all kinds of healthy and balanced meals. Did Katie learn nothing from her mother? Kelley even made some balanced meals on her channel. Why does she think everything has to go in the microwave? She needs a nutrition class, they admitted in this video that the kids eat chicken nuggets 5 nights a week. Poor kids probably have so many digestive issues. No wonder Gaines looks miserable 90% of the time she is probably so malnourished it's hard to even think. Those kids are picky because she made them picky. She said in her stories last night that the kids don't like red sauce yet fast forward and Gaines ate the pasta with red sauce. Katie also said she eats pasta almost every night. So really the kids are "picky" because Katie is lazy and only wants to make pasta.

Cut up some cucumbers, baby carrots, heck my kids like radishes. Why does she not let then have fruit until they eat the pasta? I would rather my kids eat fresh fruit than pasta.

I figured out why Katie always wears a big sweatshirt to film. In the video at the retirement celebration Katie looked heavier than she appears in her daily videos. She is always talking about losing all the weight but she looks different than the pictures of when she first lost all the weight.

We also found out that she has a Ross shopping thing. So she wasn't only shopping Kohl's but also Ross. I bet she could throw a big yardsale and pay off the IRS bill.

Now for the house. I do think they need to sell it but I think if they regroup and sell the suburban, put out a few extra videos a week, stop paying tithes for a year, take the kids out of afterschool care and stop celebrating every special Monday they could afford the house and keep the roof over their heads.

Katie if you are reading here - PRIORITIES. Think about what is most important and right now it is having a roof over the heads of the kids.

That's why the Pediasure is "necessary". Because the kids eat nothing but salty/,sugary "snacks", mac & cheese, and chicken nuggets.

I can't believe that last year they spent over $100 on Gaines just for a father daughter dance at their church!

They still spent unnecessary money this year but at least they made some progress. They didn't need to buy the flowers this year or the balloons. Why do they make every little thing such a big celebration. I remember going to a dance like that in like 4th grade I picked a church dress I already had and my dad bought me a corsage. If they keep making such a big deal and spoiling the hell out of these kids I can't even imagine what her prom will be like.

I love my kids more than anything in this world but spoiling kids to the extreme like C&K do is not good for them at all. Kids need to understand budgets and that less is more.

This is also the bathroom that Cullen painted over wallpaper. Which is obviously not the best option, the wallpaper should have been removed first.

The green wallpaper made it look even more dated, it looked like it belonged in an episode of Downton Abbey.

I agree, spray paint the mirrors silver or black and get some different knobs and faucets. Who wants to spend 600k on a home that needs work in EVERY room?

The only time that is good is if they qualify for a new super low rate. Interest rates have dropped a ton but their credit is so bad I doubt they would qualify. Plus it really would only save them a few hundred dollars a month. We are getting ready to refinance but we have 800 credit scores and qualify for the lowest interest rate. Plus it usually costs you money to refinance. Sometimes a couple thousand dollars.

Yeah, if you aren't paying your mortgage, and have huge credit card balances, banks aren't going to jump at the chance to loan you money.
Just like when she thought she could transfer her balance to a no-interest card with the same bank and just wipe out all the interest they already owe. It just doesn't work that way.

I disagree about spray painting the mirrors. They have an ornate design, and will still be out of style painted black. Given that they have shells on them they would have a more beachy vibe painted a light blue colour, but this would be more suitable for a beach house and wouldn’t exactly match their home style. They’d be better off to go buy a couple of new mirrors from Home Depot. They aren’t expensive.

They would look good in pewter with matching sink hardware. Pewter tones everything way down. Those mirror frames would look good spray painted black in a club or bar. I have seen something similar to that look before in NYC which is close to where I live.

Neither her dress, which probably did not come from her closet in my opinion. It was strange that Cullen repeatedly said "when Gaines picked it out" which sounds more like picking it out in the store than from your closet, and which also sounded too 'heavy' for taking a dress from your closet, as if a more significant thing like going to the store had preceded the dress than merely picking it from your closet if that makes sense. And the fact that the dress was hanging on the door knot downstairs plus that she put the dress on downstairs. Why weren't they all upstairs, somewhere near her closet if she already had the dress? Or why didn't she walk down the stairs in her dress (like a real princess)? Oh pardon me, she's a queen now They did create a big entrance though: from the living room to the kitchen. And Gaines' response overall, it was more to me like the dress was a new gift to her. She was too happy and sparkly* plus she explained the dress like it was new: "...and it has a veil", uplifting the veil. That is what you do with your new cloths. And Katie saying how happy Gaines was with the dress....

*Although sparkly, that poor kid looks so unhealthy and pale. As parents you guide her, you determine what she has to eat. Kids don't know any better.

I think that is really common nowadays, to make every little thing you kids does a big extravagant ordeal.
I saw some other YT moms spend, upwards of $50 dollars on their kid for Valentines day...multiply that by 3!
I can't believe it.
My son is only two, but we celebrated Valentines day by doing Valentine themed crafts at our local library, and his grandma came over and gave him a special cookie.
I mean...that it. He enjoyed that.
